Kim dotcom has been working on a decentralised mega for a couple of years now.
122  Economy / Speculation / Re: 1 bitcoin = 200k dollars on: July 03, 2016, 05:46:28 PM
I'm expecting a massive shakeout of the weak hands following halving. Just hodl.

Those expecting a crazy rally post halvening will be eaten alive..they'll panic.. volatility will be amazing..

It will shakeout a lot of people with unrealistic short term expectations... blood on the streets.. buy the dips..

It may well be an opportunity, perhaps for the last time to get in under $500.. Maybe we see around $500 2-4 more times before saying goodbye.

128  Economy / Speculation / Re: $13,000 bitcoins by the end of 2016? $120,000 by 2018? (golden ratio fractals) on: June 16, 2016, 02:30:23 PM
It was always going to do this. It was never going to cause a problem. If you look around most people expected the price to rise.
The simplest from of supply and demand is.. if you halve the supply, then the price will automatically double.
It doesn't happen overnight.. but it is beginning to get priced in now.
I expect it will more than simple double.
Also it depends when you take as your starting point.
$220 was roughly a solid bottom. It has more than tripled since then. And is on it's way to quadrupling.
129  Economy / Speculation / Re: I have been hodling for 900 days on: June 12, 2016, 02:50:35 PM
I am also hodling my bitcoins. I only ever sold 1.6 btc at the top in 2013 (so i got my first 10btc free + some profit Cheesy )..and used 1.5 to buy a 3d printer.

I've held them all the way. I bought more and added to them. Buying and hodling never sodling...
130  Economy / Speculation / Re: How high will the Market Cap go? on: June 12, 2016, 02:45:22 PM
How can market cap be predictable but price not? When price = market cap / number of coins.

I can know the number of coins and you say it's possible to predict the market cap.. then you have price.

So, predict any market cap you like and you then also have the price.

I hope the last (critical  Grin ) 24 hrs chart action will help that bad back feel somewhat better man!
132  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: June 12, 2016, 10:41:49 AM
The last 24 hours were critical but the next 24 hours are criticaller! TM

133  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: June 12, 2016, 10:26:54 AM
Exciting isn't it?

I just love the smell of green candles in the morning...

The $10Billion market cap point will be surpassed shortly..

We're moving up again..

Enjoy your Sunday!

Also..for those interested in wider economics - Friday say a record day in the bond market. Govt. bonds. People investors want out of the $10 TRILLION collapsing cess-pit.

Monday could see similar moves.. domino effect could mean it all escalates very very quickly indeed.

On the btc side of things... MSM will start it's usual dumb-as-fuck reporting of the btc moves over the weekend and fomo should drive another spike this week.

All factors considered - this could also escalate very very quickly.

For these reasons, i don't think the rise will stop either. Also, halvening on the horizon..

This is Gentlemen, exciting times!  Wink

136  Economy / Speculation / Re: Nights Watch by Afrikoin on: June 09, 2016, 03:00:29 PM
It would be cheaper just to implement robust IT security policy, and have their IT security people, you know, do their jobs properly.

Edit: "48% or nearly half of the companies surveyed are failing to back up their data at least once a day."

I read that and my jaw nearly dropped. These companies/people deserve to get scammed.

90 Central Banks Seek Blockchain Answers at Federal Reserve Event

http://www.coindesk.com/central-banks-blockchain-federal-reserve/

Lol! How fast (slow) things change. Just like markets. 2 years ago would anyone have guessed this? 90 central bankers discussing the identity of Satoshi Nakamoto.

Yeah.. about that...

Here is an excellent article written on this very topic. I think it's well worth a read....

https://medium.com/@beautyon_/why-central-banks-will-fail-at-digital-currency-2a0f47e827cb#.e1zm11msn

Basically saying, Bitcoin was created to destroy central banks.. and that although they are now paying attention.. they still don't get it.
They still think they can harness it to use in their legacy systems..
They still think Blockchain - not bitcoin... and see the 'Blockchain Technology' as the ONLY good to come out of bitcoin.. actually seeing bitcoin as an alt-coin and just a side effect of Blockchain technology.. wow.. you couldn't make it up.
138  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin will hit $3k-$4k by end of 2017 on: June 08, 2016, 01:16:35 PM
Funny reading through here and all the wrong predictions. Especially those say X can't happen or this can't happen..

90% wrong so far.
139  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: June 07, 2016, 08:10:26 PM
too many people are sniffing hopeium. $1000 looks to be the majority's picking. I think its a sign to short btc. I could be wrong though.

People are saying it's going to be less than $1000.. I think anyone who said that is right.

http://www.imf.org/external/pubs/ft/fandd/2016/06/adriano.htm

The IMF ladies and gentlemen. Internet of Trust.

They still banging on about blockchain being the underlying and interesting technology while not grasping that you need a 'native token' i.e. bitcoin to use it.

You can build your own blockchain.. then you have an altcoin. but it's not going to be as secure as the bitcoin network.
