Has anyone got any decent performance out of a Mac Pro using poclbm?!? I've got access to one with a 5870 in it, but the best I can get out of it is around 210MH/s - not great! I've tried running it using the latest version from the git repo, but when I turn vectors on it gets a much lower hashrate, using anything other than the maximum worksize (-w256) seems to cause it to slow down too! It seems to get segfaults all over the place if I don't choose the options very carefully too! I've ended up using an older version of poclbm, which doesnt use the phatk kernel. Anyone got any tips? btw, this is running a 64-bit version of OS X, 10.6.8. I'm not much of a Mac guy, but I know my way round a linux/unix command line, so I've basically been treating it like a linux box. Cheers for any help  210MH/s sounds pretty decent for a 5870 under Snow Leopard. I never got it past 180MH/s. Now running Lion (GM), I'm getting a little over 300 (310-320), with the original poclbm kernel. Could not get the phatk kernel to run with Lion, does weird things and does not submit shares (or very irregular), while it reports speeds over over 1 Thash. I did not have time to debug it yet. |

Zijn jullie nu echt aan het minen om er iets aan te verdienen? Speculeren is meer rendabel . Is maar hoe je het bekijkt, als je nu voor 2000euro bitcoins koopt en bitcoins worden volledig waardeloos, wat ik niet hoop maar daar moet je in deze beta fase wel rekening mee houden dan hou je op het einde van de rit niets over en ben je 2000euro kwijt. Koop je voor die 2000euro miningaparatuur dan hou je op het einde van de rit heel mooie hardware over als btc faalt. Dat is niet correct. Met speculeren koop je natuurlijk geen bitcoins en ga je ze gepolijst en al in de kast leggen. Juist gebruik maken van de grote koersschommelingen (die op mtgox volop aanwezig zijn) levert zelfs in een bearmarket voldoende winst op, zo lang je maar niet al je paarden in 1 order stopt. |

Looks like this has been created using WPF, which is a bad idea. WPF uses directx9 to render its contents, and everytime you update your screen (external redraw event, or updating the counter to display the mhash) opencl is suspended.
There are ways to fix this though, although you will never get a really optimal solution using .net (or windows for that matter).

Hoi Herbert, Op zich wel interesse om je te helpen, maar niet zo gek veel tijd op handen. Wat had je in gedachte voor het uitleggen? Welke opzet? Groeten, BioMike Dag mensen, BNR Digitaal hier.
Geïnteresseerd in aandacht besteden aan Bitcoin en op zoek naar mensen met goede technische en financiële kennis (hoeft in allemaal in één persoon te zitten) en het vermogen dit duidelijk uit te leggen aan een lekenpubliek. Wie kan helpen?

I'm really surprised nobody has started a dedicated site for poker-site money to BTC conversion. That seems to me that it would be the Bitcoin killer app.
would instantly use it  btw checked out bitcoinmarket, and yes i can add moneybookers as a payment processor, but i cant deposit with it. ..... You don't need to deposit, bitcoinmarket acts like an escrow service. |

If the site doesn't work properly and the site administrator refuses to answer any questions/emals, shouldn't we consider removing them from the wiki, or at least a post a warning? Doesn't seem like an exchanger I would want newcomers to try, especially since it's first on the list on https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Trade Currency Exchange and states that paypal is accepted. I am using it without any problems - and of all the exchanges this one is the easiest for new users. |
