I am having problems compiling the newest version with -enable-avalon activated.

What's with this file located here in the avalon folder?
http://ck.kolivas.org/apps/cgminer/avalon/20131116/

How I am supposed to use this file bin?

openwrt-ar71xx-generic-tl-wr703n-v1-squashfs-factory.bin

Thank you.

do I have to compile the newest cgminer with -enable-avalon to be able to make it work?
Or should the newest 3.8.2 tar.bz2 for 64bit already have this functionality activated?

I am using ubuntu 13.04 with the newest cgminer 3.8.2 64bit.

I connected my bitburner XX device and it recognizes it as
a BTB0 device when I start cgminer. So far so good.

When I connect to my pool, it just keeps on increasing the LW value.
NB keeps on increasing slowly to..

But what I don't get is, it keeps on saying that I have 0.000 h/s.

And chminer keeps on posting every 5 mins or so that
BTB0: Idled 1 miners
New block detected on network before longpoll
GBT LONGPOLL from pool 0 requested work restart

The bitburnerXX gets warm and the LEDs indicate that it is
working fine and is sending data back.

Sorry for my noob question, but what now?
Is this normal behaviour?
Does it have to download the block chain first before it can mine?

Hello dotbitme,

I like the site you created and wish you good luck with it.

I would love to see you use https and also a tutorial for newbies,
that will help the cause and spread *.bit

We must make it easy for noobs and newcomers to register
and host a *.bit site.

Cheers

3445  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] Namecoin-QT with integrated Name Registration (v3.64)New 27/06/13 on: August 15, 2013, 06:13:07 PM
Hello snailbrain, you have done a fantastic job with this namecoin Qt, it is a pleasure to use this program.
It seems to work like a charm on my pc (win7 64 bit)

I just donated you 0.5 Bitcoin to 19wDA8D9fnYdp71DhQygWYktHnmW4ygTN9

I would have a request for an additional functionality:

Auto-Renew. Can you update the program so that I can set a value somewhere, say "block:1000"
and whenever a name reaches the "expires in 1000" message, then an automatic update is
triggered once, costing 0.005 NMC.

I say "1000" as an example. Some people would want to not run the risk of having to update the name
when it has already "run out"... so they would want to be precautious and make the update a little bit earlier...

Can this be done? It would be great to have this automated.

Thanks for this nice program.

Greetings,

George

people... less speculation please and more "main street" transactions with BTC...
(it will help all the middle and lower class merchants who accept BTC)

You wanna see BTC rise and shine?
Then use it like you would use any other real money.
Don't hoard it all, but trade with it, buy stuff and services with it.

It's what makes a money strong and stable.
3447  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which Alt Coin you like best on: August 14, 2013, 10:40:44 PM
Namecoin,
because it's not only a cryptocurrency but also let's you register
domain-names (*.bit) which gives this currency even more value...

It's like money with two functions (the coin-function and the name-function)...
how cool is that?

I used to trade forex which brought me to zerohedge... there I heard of bitcoins the first time, maybe 3 years ago... I followed max keisers show on RT since episode 1, which kept me updated about bitcoins.
Now that the silver/gold mania has somehow cooled off a little, I put more focus on bitcoin, altcoins and especially namecoins, whose DNS-functionality sounds extremely intriguing.
I see a lot of cool stuff announced and discussed in this forum, and I wonder why I am not yet registered and participating... therefore.. here I am.
