6  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: New miner but i am suspicious on: July 08, 2011, 03:09:32 AM
The hash rate fluctuates between 31mhash/s and 35 in the video.

What's suspicious? Every single miner client out there does this. There is no such thing as a 100% stable hash rate.
It will always slightly move up and down.

If you get a similar hash rate, then you have a very old ATI card (4350 or worse).

It has no option to choose cards other than the 8800 I have 3 6970's.

from 15 to 30 mh/s? nvidia is a waste.  lucky to get 0.01 btc per day from that, not even enough to cover additional electricity cost.

It's not that i want to see if it will have the same effect on ATI cards but it seems suspicious to me because the program will run those same numbers without having that card.

It only seems to support that card and blurts our the same numbers. I ran it on my miner and it just started giving me a random hash rate like that displayed in the video. my wallet is on a separate computer but i down loaded it to my wallet first because that is my main.

13  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Power Supply for Rigs on: May 24, 2011, 09:55:36 PM
60A on 12V at least. 70A-75A would be safer minimum.
Would 85 be ok?

I need to find 6990's in large supply can anyone help me out and point me in the direction of a retailer with a good supply?
15  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Power Supply for Rigs on: May 23, 2011, 10:18:54 PM
What type of power supply should I buy if I would want to run 3 of these http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=91070&sku=P262-6990

im new to this bitcoin forum, but i have experience with hardware. right now i have 1500w power supply and i dont even use 1/3 of it. so for 3 of those over 1000w should be fine, but 1200w and up is good.
Thx

Hi sporeknight123,

At the moment you can't mine solo because you don't have the complete blockchain. It around 125857 now. From what you wrote it's obvious that your client is having problems connecting to the network. If you wait I am sure it will eventually find peers and complete the download. If you don't want to wait, you need to open the 8333 port on your computer or/and router facing the Internet. The easy way to achieve this is to go to "Settings"->"Options"->and check "Map forwarding using UPnP". Then restart the client.
Alternatively, you could join a pool because if you continue solo, in all likelihood, it will be weeks or months before you get your first reward.

One Question I'm planning on building about 3 rigs that each would in theory generate 2.1 Ghash/s At that point should I mine solo and what programs should I use to mine solo using cards.
18  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / I need help! (FIXED) on: May 22, 2011, 09:08:50 PM
Sad
The client says it is not connected, im using windows 7 64bit, minning with a GTX 470 and it says that there are 12689 blocks I need help because I don't want my mining to go to waste.

Edit
Fixed it I just deleted the folders for my miner and the client in app data and then deleted them following that with a reinstall of the client and miner
