1  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: [Unofficial] Coinpot.co - new microwallet on: Today at 04:52:26 AM

is it a litecoin address that is the problem?
if so then you may need to convert it using this tool https://litecoin-project.github.io/p2sh-convert/
(some background information: https://cryptofacilities.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/360006040974-Litecoin-Address-Format)

Most probably, it also happens with Bitcoin Cash if you plan on depositing.

The deposit address below is in the new CashAddr format - if you need a legacy address then it can be converted using this Bitcoin Cash Address Converter tool
2  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 22 Bitcoin interesting facts on: September 21, 2020, 02:15:15 PM
#10 "Transactions can't be reversed."

Technically, they can if another payment is made before the first one completes (a.k.a no confirmation).

From this article
Quote
To prove that no attempts to double-spend have occurred, the blockchain provides a way for all nodes to be aware of every transaction. With bitcoin, all transactions are publically announced to all nodes. They can then agree on a single history of the order in which they were received. Bitcoin’s solution to double-spending is that if the majority of the nodes agree on which transaction was first to be received, later attempts to double-spend are irrelevant.

Not full member, only member privilege.

But it will not be considered as a member rank, only for enabling some features as you quoted above.

Oh, now I noticed the mistake there. I'll go edit it.
4  Other / Meta / Re: Merit giveaway: is it a good idear? on: September 20, 2020, 01:45:16 PM

Its all depends upon the intention of the person who start a merit giveaway thread. Also those who start a merit give away threads don't have much merits with them. Why is it so hard for them to distribute 10 - 15 merits on the go rather than creating a separate thread for it and seeking attention.

You sure? Here's one for example

7  Other / Meta / Re: Wall of fame / shame. Shit posts so bad that they are actually funny on: September 20, 2020, 08:27:26 AM
This one is not quite a shitpost, but it is not far from it  Grin

Hello this is the alt account of Alvinmtp (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=891025)

I was permanent banned on June 18,2018 due to pilgarism.
And i too accepted my mistake.

Since there is a new change in the account banning system and giving signature bans and temporary bans to pilgarism users, so therefore i ask the mods to reduce my ban period.

I have already faced two years of ban for my Fault and now i should deserve a second chance.

Please have a check about it @Theymos.

It made me really laugh hahahha,  first, I thought he wrote Pillager - ism , thanks to my occasional dyslexia Cheesy That image killed me Cheesy  Reminded me of good old times when I was playing Lotr TCG:

Then I saw that it was Pilgarism, which made me laugh even more, thinking how is he capable of plagiarism with that spelling  Grin Grin

For some reason, it looked like pilgrimage Grin

Btw OP, I tried claiming the gift but it somewhat "failed" and became invalid afterwards.

Thanks for the offer though, I managed to enable LN on Electrum by creating another LN-compatible address.
9  Other / Meta / Re: Free-Tron.com on: September 20, 2020, 08:21:08 AM
I'm not sure why your topic was deleted. Yeah, Micro earnings is located in Bitcoin board, while your service is related to altcoin, it may be a reason. But altcoin faucets always been promoted here, I saw it since my first days on this forum and mods didn't deleted it. It would be nice to hear moderator opinion about this case.
@sujonali1819, you can see such kind of ads on 95% of faucets, so, this site isn't exceptional. Yeah, it's possible to disable it on A-Ads, as shown on @UserU post, but then he would lose big part of income and wull be fored to close website. And scams is advertised on Google ads too, but it doesn't that owner is responsibe about content of ads. It's always a good idea to add warning about potential dangers of advertised content and that's not endorsed by website

If the advertiser advertises the ads on Google Ads, it's entirely as he/ she wants it to appear on relevant websites (assuming the free tron is one of them).

But for the owner of free tron, it's not his or her responsibilty because only the ad space is offered/ sold. Unless there's some moral compass involved.
10  Other / Meta / Re: Free-Tron.com on: September 18, 2020, 03:48:37 PM
<snip>

Chances are, the site owner is allowing all sorts of ads (HYIP, NSFW just to name a few) to maximize his/ her ads earnings through the ad network platform.

So he or she is not actually behind the ad contents.

Sometime like this

Old school generations you say  Smiley
But I definitely agree on the fact that a lot of stress is involved in securing and procuring your private keys on the platform. But with the right words, things can be made easy for them.

Well, that's the safest term I could come out with to describe them. Grin

Funnily enough, these security problems ain't only from the older folks. Even the younger internet-savvy people have been too comfortable with username:passwords accounts that there's a good chance that there's a good chance that even the younger folks will be leaving their funds in custodial exchanges; or something like saving their 12-24 word seed on a centralized server like on their email address or their phone's app.

You are right. Imagine the young ones already making those mistakes, think about how the elders are struggling to cope with such logic.

They could avoid parking their funds on the exchange but then they might fall victim to an elaborate social engineering scam.

Even I made a cardinal mistake of leaving mine on an exchange as I was lazy to bear the fees and the waiting time each time I wanted to transfer them, although thankfully the exchange wasn't hacked "yet" back then.

Did you see someone put the cheese in there, or just take their word they would after you paid them?

Well, it looked like cheese and tasted like one, so I took their word for it Grin
13  Other / Off-topic / Re: Pirated Software: When and Why? on: September 18, 2020, 09:21:20 AM
Earlier this year when I transitioned from Intel to AMD (yey), my legit Windows key from Dreamspark became invalid. Called Microsoft support but they iterated that it exceeded the number of activations (over 300 which didn't make sense at all).

And with the cost of over 100 bucks for a Pro version, I eventually said f it and purchased one "online" for less than a buck.
14  Economy / Gambling / Re: bet.io domain for sale on: September 18, 2020, 08:09:03 AM
Definitely sus. Timelord has already posted in the other thread asking where did the bids come from.

And the first few positive posts from the OP came from Newbie accounts.

Sometimes the only way not to lose is to not play.

I agree with this. Alternatively, you can't lose if you're broke

18  Economy / Gambling / Re: Stake.com - Casino & Sportsbook - Lamborghini Giveaway! 🚀 🎰 🏀 ⚾ 🏈 🎾 🥊 🎲 on: September 18, 2020, 07:30:00 AM
The problem is that Stake is an international casino and not a local one. Because of this reason, it's hard for customers to accept the actual price. In reality they look Lambo as 212,266 USD as the main prize. I think, if Lambo is the real prize, then they should cover additional fees or only offer money as the prize. Well, it's still on the user's side right now but at some point it's really sad that we can't see Lambo winners on crypto casinos or did I missed something? Cheesy
I said that because not every gambler is rich and there are moments when luck hits and poor people win such a great prizes and taxes on lambo would cost house in small countries.

The winner could always convert the prize money and buy a (cheaper) Lambo. Saves the cost Grin
19  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why government Don't kill btc? on: September 18, 2020, 07:27:46 AM
It's very easy to put your coins on a memory card and take a jet to South Korea, Japan, or werever you like and trade there. The whole world would have to ban it at the same time for this to work and this will never happen.

I wonder how many Bitcoins does one need to actually afford a jet.

Copper member is a custom title like Donator, VIP, Mentis, Ninja etc. If someone buy copper membership a custom title "Copper member" is added to his profile. But his bitcointalk rank will still be Newbie unless there is no merit in his profile.

To put it simply, a Newbie with Member privileges donning a Copper Membership title. Grin
