1  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin with Paypal? on: May 14, 2012, 12:02:27 AM
I think I'd like to clarify on my situation:

I'm under the age of 18, therefore unable to create a bank account without my parent's legal consent.

I would like to use paypal as I can have a friend deposit money in my account very easily without any questions asked. I'm not attaching a debit card to my account as it'll likely be a gift payment.

I'm looking to buy about 37 bitcoin for around 200 Canadian, can anyone help?

I don't understand Bitcoin OTC either =\

rooflez, not sure where you're based, but if you have a european bank account, it's possible you could use https://bitcoinmarket24.com
I'm actually Canadian. So that can't be an option.

I'm looking for a way to buy bitcoin with paypal for a good premium, as well.

Um, I have over 63 positive feedback marks on my eBay account.

Thanks.

I stand corrected I guess.

How much would it cost to buy like 38 bitcoin off you?

380 dollars for you!  Cheesy
Why so expensive?

Would any sellers here be willing at all to sell by paypal?

I really dont wanna go through the hassle of using VirWox or something of that matter.

I'm actually a very technologically-adapt person, I've built computers and written software and stuff. I'd just rather not go through all the trouble of mining and considering I own an nVidia graphics card i dont find it truly beneficial to go through all the work for minimal return.

I support bitcoin though so i may as well do my best to keep it up and running  Smiley

Mining is basically like actual mining (in its simplest form)

You basically "mine" for blocks of bitcoins, which get distributed out to the miners.

Kinda like mining for gold.

Learning curve for me is pretty crazy.

I'm probably only gonna use bitcoin as an online currency for me (to buy stuff online anonymously etc) rather than actually mining them.

The problem is that bitcoin gained its notoriety from the sites like SR that sell contraband anonymously.

Many people barely know that bitcoin is used legitimately every day for regular things.

Its about education

Tried the platform thing, no luck.

Is it nVidia?
15  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: [Help]poclbm.exe stopped working? on: May 23, 2011, 09:56:48 PM
Could it be that I have an nVidia card?
16  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: [Help]poclbm.exe stopped working? on: May 23, 2011, 09:40:47 PM
It displays the content of the batch file, opens a new window (poclbm.exe), where it shows the new window for about 5 seconds and crashes.

There isn't a directory called poclbm_py2exe_20110428 in that folder, doesn't work Sad

18  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: [Help]poclbm.exe stopped working? on: May 23, 2011, 08:53:52 PM

I beleive it's   -d 0 -o deepbit.net -p 8332

Changed it, same error.

Does the directory C:\Bitcoin\poclbm_py2exe_20119428 exist and is poclbm.exe in it?

Did you create your own account at deepbit and put your own username and password in it, or are you literally using --user=user --pass=pass because that's not going to work.

Are sure sure your video card is actually device 0?

I think you need poclbm_py2exe_20110428 not poclbm_py2exe_20119428
1. Yes
2.Yes
3. I only have 1 video card, but how do I check?
