1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] ccminer 2.3 - opensource - GPL (tpruvot) on: July 01, 2018, 10:50:15 PM
Hi All,
this is probably a dumb question but I am looking to control GPU temps in CCminer2.3.  My rig has 11 various Nvidia cards (1060 3gb, 1060 6gb, 1070,...) and we all know that Afterburner only controls 8.

My thought was to use the "--max-temp=N" command line option but couldn't find a way to control fan speed.

Can you control fan speed via a command line option with CCminer?

Sorry if this is obvious.

Thanks

When will Raven be on a hardware wallet?  Preferably a Legend nano.

is this being worked on by anyone?

Are other coins susceptible to this kind of mining pool attack or was there something unique with Raven that allowed it?

Coin is dead? the price is falls and falls.

Would be, because of a few wallet hacks.

Were actual individual wallets hacked or were mining pool wallets hacked?

What hash range are people seeing with RX580?  I really do not see 7 or 8 for any length of time.

At stock settings of core and mem, -5 power level, 256 difficulty, no -g option (see below), I'm seeing 6.0 to 7.1.
I'm going to let it run overnight at difficulty 320 to see where that lands.

Also, with version 1.3, -g 2 does not work for me with my 11 cards when I use the -d option with 6 cards or less.  SGMiner crashes while it's building the bin file.  The -g option did work with 1.2 but I didn't really see an improvement in hash rate.  I'm only running a celeron could that be an issue?

Thanks

2,148 TH/s network hashrate now, almost double that a week ago  Shocked
I thought something was up it like the difficulty sky rocketed I made half of what I did a few days ago is there a difficulty chart somewhere does anyone know

Same here.  Also making half of what I made last week.
See the difficulty chart on this site.

rvnstats.info

It's the little small green chart on the right.  Difficulty went from 16,511 to 19,477.

Hi All,
Pardon my ignorance, but is there a block explorer or way for me to see every mining transaction that has occured to my wallet?

Thanks
Yep - Page 1 under the heading Block Explorers

Unfortunately Hash4life only shows 100 transaction so i will check the other explorers when I get home.

Thanks!

Your QT Wallet will also have all transactions.
You can then open a transaction and search it in a block explorer if you want to trace the transaction

Just what I needed.

Thanks Bitebyte!

In my opinion, quite a young cryptocurrency.Talking about the prospects of Ravencoin is difficult, because at the present time there is no need for the functionality that offers Ravencoin. Most likely, in a year or two the demand for services will be much higher than it is now.

What functionality and application do you see being needed in a year or two?

Would like to hear your insight.

Thanks

Those with 1080tis, are you using enemy 1.08 or what? have you tested different intesities?
It seems that between 20 and 21 nothing changed for me

on enemy 1.08 for a week now. i 20 and getting better results.

I'm on Enemy 1.08 as well running 6 - 1080ti's but i have experienced the miner freezing up and hash drops like a rock. It's not really a crash, as the miner window stays open as if to want to continue working. Anyone else experience this? After closing the miner and restarting to program...all is good. It's just going to suck if this happens while i'm at work. Does anyone know what might being going on and how do i get the miner to auto close and then restart, even if it means a complete system restart?

Thank you for your time  Grin

What settings and pool are you using? And which brand model 1080TI?

What is your definition of dropping like a rock?  50MH/s to 40MH/s?  Or is it much more extreme like 50MH/s to 5MH/s?

And are you looking at the miner hash rate or the observed hash rate from the pool you're mining?

Hi All,
Another question.  I seem to get the highest and most consistent hash rate from 1.0.  My hashrate for 1.1 is significantly lower than 1.0.

I've got a 12 card system with 6-580s, 3-570s, 2-480s, and a R9290.

I obviously do not use -g 2 because of the 12 cards but have tried different intensities from 64 to 512 and 1.0 comes out on top.

Any explanation?

Thanks!

1.1 and 1.0 should be identical when it comes to x16r/x16s; I just added xevan support for RX cards in 1.1.

Make sure when you're comparing hashrates you either average for a few hours, or use the --benchmark flag. X16R hashrates will vary a lot depending on the current block's hash sequence.

If you have 12 cards on the same rig, you can try splitting up the cards into two instances of Avermore (using the -d flag) to get around the 13-thread limit.

On the first instance of Avermore, run with -d 0,1,2,3,4,5 and on the second, run -d 6,7,8,9,10,11. This should allow you to run the miner with -g 2, which should get you better hashrates.

Let me know how it goes.

This is a great idea.  Duh!  I could have thought of that.

I'll give it a try tonight and get back to you.  Thanks!

Hi Brian,
Great miner.

Question, What does the -w 64 command do?  Should we be adjusting this or do you have guidelines on how to adjust it for max hash rate?

Thanks

its worksize, and and it might give you different results with different numbers (can try 128 / 256), but in general 64 usually works best for most algos on amd

Thanks for the tips!

16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Mining Fees Question on: April 23, 2018, 09:30:57 PM
Hi All,

I have a few questions regarding mining fees for Z-enemy miner 1.08.  The fee is clearly stated as being 1% or 1 minute of mining for every 100 minutes.

Due to pure random chance I happened to observe the mining fee period and I saw the following:

15:52:29  Mining Some Dev Fee
...
Bunch of hash order commands
...
15:55:05 Done Mining Dev Fee

The 1% fee in this instance appeared to take ~2.5 minutes.  It might actually be a 1% fee but it might have an impact on mining of 2.5%.

But maybe the mining period is not literally 1 minute every 100 minutes.  If it was 2 minutes every 200 minutes then there wouldn't be as much impact on mining if the mining duration is 2.5 minutes.

  • How long does it normally take to mine the 1% fee?
  • Is 2.5 minutes for 1% a typical duration?
  • Is this how all Ravencoin miners work if they have a fee?
  • What do others see when using this miner during the fee mining period?

Don't let my questions indicate I don't like this miner or the fact that it has a fee.  It appears to be quite fast and if the speed difference is significant (which I think it is) the fee is worth it.  I just want to have the appropriate expectations especially when comparing a miner with a fee versus a miner that does not have a fee.

Your insight is appreciated.

Thanks!

What pool is everyone using?

If you're looking for a large pool most people seem to be using Suprnova (https://rvn.suprnova.cc/) or Ravenminer (http://ravenminer.com/).  But it is probably best to try a few different ones to see what works best for you.  Probably can't go wrong giving one of these two pools a try to start out with.

If you want a medium or smaller pool best bet is to just go through this thread identify them and then check them out.  There are a lot of smaller pools out there.

Good luck

Housekeeping issue:

Please wait 15 minutes between posting a new RVN miner.

Thank you for your contribution, next please.

BTW,
Running Enemy 1.08 for a couple of days now. I've got 27 GPUs/miners but I had to take one out yesterday. This makes comparing average hash rates harder, but.... My average 24 hour hash rate is up 5% (even without the dead miner). I think (which doesn't happen much) that the worker was about 4% of my hash rate. So my bad math says Enemy 1.08 is 9% faster than 1.05a for the past 24 hours. (I know my logic is flawed, but 1.08 is faster - at least 5%, maybe a little more).

Hi WickedPigeon,
What GPUs are you mining with?  Are they all 1080s?  If not could you provide a breakdown of what they are?

One of my mining rigs is 1x1070 and 7x1060.  It runs for weeks without a hiccup so I don't want to mess with it if there won't be a significant improvement.

Your insight is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

I mine with 22 21 X 1070ti and 5 1070 on 5 rigs - mix of brands but mostly MSI Gaming, couple of EVGAs and a Gigibyte or two. I had a couple of bumps re-OCing each rig. I had a real finicky Zotac AMP Extreem 1070ti that keep crashing the rig (I took it off line and gave it to my son in college to upgrade is gaming rig).

After that adjustment, 1.08 has been fine, 18 hours no issues. The cards are slightly OC 75-80%PL, +150,+150 ish range. Hashing is up at least 7%, could be more like 9% over Enemy 1.05a.

1.08 is fast. Really fast.

Hi WickedPigeon,
This is great and very helpful info.

Thanks!

If your not happy with one of the other 57 58 miner options (I see Silent Miner just released a new miner); for those who care about closed sourced mining software that "flies" and "this bird must fly:"

Enemy released 1.08 on Discord
https://discordapp.com/channels/421031368751972362/421117688920670219

Link to his software --> https://mega.nz/#!5WACFRTT!tV1vUsFdBIDqCzBrcMoXVR2G9YHD6xqct5QB2nBiuzM

I guess the race is on...

Hi WP,
Any reason to switch from Enemy 1.05a to 1.08 for 1060 and 1070 cards?  I don't have any 1080s.

Thanks!

Yes. I noticed around 10% increase both on my 1080ti and my 1050ti.

Hi Beursstarter!

Appreciate your reply.  Now that you mention it I have a couple 1050s running as well so this is good to know.

Thanks!
