well I just disable another asic, third one in 2 months! Only nderclocking to 0.64-0.645 make it stable again. hashing only 2.8Ghz instead of advertised 4.5 so far I am not very happy with the spondoolies the only miners that didnt give me any trouble are S3 and the S5 of bitmain. (s4 is sometimes a pain also) I am afraid on this rate disabling one or two chip every month over a couple of months the log will say; Disable every ASIC and BUY something else, anything else would be fine You really expect some high end product when you see a team of good engineering working on something. Its a new machine and dying 3 chips in 2 months will I didn't overclock anything and the temp of the room was always below 27 degree. Its a real disappointment so far. How were your voltage/overclock settings before the ASICs died? Medium, high, highest or custom? I feel that running them @ highest pushes the chips to the limits which results in malfunctions long-term, even at low room temperatures. I am running my SP30 at medium overclock settings @4Th/s, although now as weather gets hotter will probably go even lower, 0.65/0.66v @3.4Th/s just to be safe.

Καλή σαν ιδέα, σίγουρα θα είναι το πρώτο στην Ελλάδα.. Οι ενδοιασμοί όμως που έχω για ένα τέτοιο εγχείρημα ειναι Α) Ο χώρος που θα είναι εγκατεστημένο πρέπει να έχει φυσική ασφάλεια. Θυμηθήτε την κλοπή του ΑΤΜ στην Ολλανδία πριν λίγο καιρό.. Β) Πιθανά μπλεξίματα με γραφειοκρατία, εφορία κλπ.

Με 10gh/s μην περιμένεις να βγάζεις τίποτα ακόμα και σε pool. Μια λύση θα ήταν να το βάλεις σε solo mining και να μπαίνεις στην κλήρωση κάθε 10 λεπτά μπας και βρει ο miner σου κάποιο block και κερδίσεις 25 Bitcoin. Και αυτό τελείως απίθανο. Οι πιθανότητες είναι σαν να κερδίσεις 10 δελτία τζόκερ μαζί Χμ δεν είναι ακριβώς έτσι. Το hashrate του δικτύου αυτή τη στιγμή είναι 352,352,338 GH/s. Άρα με 10 GH/s έχεις πιθανότητα να βρεις το block περίπου 1 στα 35 εκατομμύρια (αυτό για κάθε 10 λεπτά). Η πιθανότητα να κερδίσεις το τζόκερ με απλό δελτίο για 5+1 Επιτυχίες είναι 1 στις 24.435.180 (για κάθε κλήρωση). Ενώ οι πιθανότητες να κερδίσεις 10 δελτία τζόκερ μαζί είναι (1/24435180)^10 δηλαδή 1 προς 1,31 x 10^74 (δηλ 74 μηδενικά) Άρα τελικά οι πιθανότητες είναι αρκετά κοντά..

Εάν στην εστία δεν έχετε πρόβλημα με το ρεύμα τότε με ένα S5 θα βγάζετε ένα μικρό χαρτζηλίκι το μήνα... Έχετε υπόψιν όμως ότι είναι και λίγο ενοχλητικό να δουλεύει στο δωμάτιο που μένεις, καθώς και οτι βγάζει κάμποση ζέστη, το οποίο είναι ιδιαίτερο πρόβλημα τώρα το καλοκαίρι, τόσο για αυτόν που μένει μέσα όσο και για το ίδιο το μηχάνημα..

Could you elaborate what your main concern is? Did they state to not have a cold wallet or something? As long as they have 95% in cold wallets, I assume they will bail out anybody who looses money due to their fault.
1.They are not taking action against dishonest people - they could drastically reduce the number by banning all Tor/VPN/Proxy users and requiring ID from all users. 2.They are not working to improve their credit rating -> dealing with them may have a negative impact on your own credit rating. 3.I don't know about their cold wallet/hot wallet policy, but they still don't use multisig... Regarding (1), you can always reject trading with Tor/Proxy users and/or require ID verification..

if a spondoolies miner is stolen - can the serial number be used to track it down?
Did someone break into your place? it appears that the guy in charge of colocating some of my units made a very strange series of decisions that involve the equipment of myself and several others being loaded into a uhaul without notice. the whole things is so absurd sounding that I hope things can be sorted out as some sort of accident. either way - curious what options are available in a situation like this edit: got an update and seems like theres just feuding between others that my hardware got wrapped up in. should turn out okay - but it made me reconsider what options are available to protect hardware from theft. features like 'call home' when a system is moved to a different IP address could be nice, but possibly overcome by a simple factory reset or uSD recovery file See my previous posts, you can use no-ip DDNS and then log on your no-ip account and see what's the unit's current IP address..

One of my SP31 is not behaving very nicely. Actually, it is hashing with a maximum of about 1 Th. I have access via ssh, and looking in the logs, I see the following - well, it asks me to disable "one by one". How can this be done through ssh? Or has anybody an advice what I should do? I have one like that where it seems that its only stable once i manually disable at least one asic from the 'trouble loop', and it generally disables 2-3 more for failing BIST, then becomes reasonably stable. go to settings, and one of the lower categories allows you to DISABLE specific chips. disable 1-2 at a time fromt he trouble loop, as the issue is sometimes a chip and sometimes poor power delivery I _guess_ it is poor power delivery. Right now I see it running with 4.2 th/s. Nevertheless, the issue is that I have only ssh-access to the miner at the moment. In /etc/mnt I see the file "mg_disabled_asics" with the following content: 0:0 1:0 2:0 3:0 4:0 5:0 6:0 7:0 8:0 9:0 10:0 11:0 12:0 13:0 14:0 15:0 16:0 17:0 18:0 19:0 20:0 21:0 22:0 23:0 24:0 25:0 26:0 27:0 28:0 29:0 I assume that it should be possible to disable the ASICs here. Or am I totally wrong? And IF it is possible to disable asics, would "1" mean disabled and "2" removed? you can disable individual asics in gui I do know this, but I don't have access to the gui through ssh... Why don't you have access to the gui? You could try tunnel through ssh and then enter 127.0.0.1 on your browser..

Anyone know how to install no-ip (or some other free ddns service) on a SPxx for remote administration?
Don't you need to set NoIP on your router and do some port forwarding from there to you SPxx? I recently setup my home web-server (not on port 80) with no-ip and all I had to do was add a game / application on the router and ensure that the server was running on a static IP (or set the always use this IP if DHCP on router ... though may cause conflicts). I also turned off upnp. The problem is that my router doesn't support no-ip.. Then you'll need to install the No-IP app either on a PC that you keep on all the time you want access to your SPxx or on the SPxx itself (not sure whether they have one, but you can always look on the web for 3rd party solutions, even code!). If you go the former route, aka the official app, then NoIP have a very good starter guide which should make the process trivial. That's what I'm looking for, to install no-ip on the SPxx itself. It would be an easy task on a linux distro like ubuntu or debian, but not sure how to do it on this embedded linux SPT uses.. build instructions - no support. http://docdroid.net/v1k4Ok done these steps on my Ubuntu VM, what would be the next step after ""make deploy"" for installing no-ip to my machine? Very nice you now have the dev environment for the SPxx, now all that is left is the routine to update the NoIP servers with your ip. NoIP have an api for that here. All you need to do now (in code to include on the SPxx) is obtain the SPxx gateway IP (i.e your internet IP NOT the SPxx IP) and periodically update their servers on where to find you. Theres also an arduino forum discussion on implementing NoIP that may interest you here. PS. I have to say you can implement that routine above in pearl (or any scripting language the SPxx OS supports) rather than the arduino way, so just provided for the interfacing with NoIP. So what's next after "make deploy"? Can someone help on using the dev environment for SPxx?

Another nice feature would be to multiply the "wall watts" number shown in the ASIC stats page with time to get total kWh consumed..
that is in the asic stats page (but cumulative kwh isnt) yeah, you don't multiply .. you integrate (i.e. find the area under the consumption trend chart) over the desired time interval. There are numerical methods to do just that. Exactly. Do you have an idea on how to implement this on SPxx?
