So, yesterday I got an email from Coin Of Midas saying that the site is back up and running. Checked it out and, sure enough, it's true. I agree with the previous posters.... it was a really good site and it seems like it once again can be a good place to promote sites and ref links, but it doesn't seem like you earn Bitcoins directly in this new incarnation... rather, you earn "gold" and "silver" which can be used to pay for banners, ads and surf exchange sites. I would guess one can exchange the "gold and silver" for Bitcoin when you want to cash out, but I haven't seen how to do this yet. At any rate, EFB.... you have 1000 direct referrals? Now might be a good time to get active on the site again and if you can contact your referrals, get them back in too. As for kingmidas, I noticed he had logged into bitcointalk in late April, so I'd say he's not dead yet. :-D

Has anyone here actually earned from faucets? Have you guys thought if it would be more profitable to spend your time doing something else? No intention to be mean, just curious.
Well, to give you an anecdotal story, here is mine..... When Bitcoin first popped up on my radar, there were only 2 faucets in existence. Both of these, at the time, dispensed 0.02 Bitcoin. This was in June or July of 2001. Being new to Bitcoin, I hit both of them up. (EDIT: June or July of 2011, rather..... hahahaha! Oh well....)So, even at today's low price for Bitcoin, those 2 transactions are worth $13.22 $13.22 for 15 seconds of my time. Yeah, I think profited from that. The real question is, do you think cryptocurrency prices will go up enough in the future that dealing with faucets now will pay out in the long run? I still think the answer to that is "yes", depending on the cryptocurrency in question, of course... for most cryptos, it's speculation. But really.... is that 10 or 15 seconds of your time going to "pay out" doing something else? Maybe, maybe not. Depends on what else you are doing... perusing Facebook? Playing World of Warcraft? Watching YouTube videos? There's lots of "time-wasting" things everyone takes part in online. Why not a cryptocoin faucet?

Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ★★ What Is Your Favourite Altcoin & Why? ★★

Out of these listed here, by far my favorite is Zeitcoin... it seems to have the most momentum behind it, and thus has (IMO) the best chance at becoming a workable currency (or "barter resource" as the Zeitgeist Movement might prefer to call it). Other than these, I really like Dogecoin because of the community and the infrastructure that has already been built up around it (again... workable currency). I also like Mooncoin (there seems to be some sort of unofficial alliance between the Mooncoin and Dogecoin communities, at least those on reddit), and I like Teslacoin (from the less practical standpoint of being a Nikola Tesla fan and the aesthetics of their logo design).

Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ZEIT] ZEITCOIN -- 100 MIL GIVEAWAY! - EXCHANGE POS/POW Launched

100 MILLION GIVEAWAY Your probably thinking "great" who gives a shit what's in it for me? I know we all have our own reasons however we aim to please you as well. So to create a great buzz about ZEITCOIN we will be having a huuuge giveaway! The first 2000 people who follow us on twiiter and like our facebook page will receive 50,000 ZEIT once they receive the wallet and don't worry we will have a google doc showing the people who will be rewarded. Keep in mind we are a small team so your giveaway will most likely be day three of launch. We also will have 2 people chosen at random to receive 100,000 ZEIT each. giveaway is passed 2000
How does this figure? Both the Facebook page and your Twitter account have less than 2000 on each. If you are doing the giveaway to people who follow on Twitter AND like the Facebook page (as stated in your post), it should still be on. Now, if you meant follow on Twitter OR like the Facebook page, then so be it, but based on what you wrote, you should have been doing the giveaway only to those who did both, not either/or. Just sayin'. 2000 * 50,000 is 100mil (not 2000 each but 2000 total) Right..... 2000 people who like the Facebook page AND follow on Twitter * 50,000 = 100mil Since both the Facebook and Twitter currently have less than 2000 on either one, clearly there are less than 2000 who did both, as would be implied by "The first 2000 people who follow us on twiiter and like our facebook page...", and the giveaway should still be on (to people who did both, not either/or) Just pointing out some non-clarity in the original post. It was that way requiring both at the start. But I guess there were too many people that weren't on both twitter and FB, so they started excepting either one. Which I can easily understand, I use both those programs so little I had to literally google how to send a PM on twitter. LOL I'm still patiently awaiting my 50k bonus. Hahaha... right on. I just got back to using Twitter after not using it for a long time. I can reply to PMs sent to me, but off the top of my head, I'm not sure I know how to initiate a new message to someone.
