1  Economy / Goods / Re: [BUY] 2x 5830 on: June 24, 2011, 01:33:26 AM
Someone's never heard of supply and demand.......

By the time someone is willing to sell a 5830 for $89 it will be absolutely useless to do so.
2  Other / Obsolete (selling) / Re: Selling 2 *BRAND NEW* 5830s for Your BTC ($255 Free Shipping) on: June 24, 2011, 01:26:57 AM
5830's are two 6-pins. BTW they are awesome on heat. Mine are blasting away at 60 crammed together fairly tightly.
3  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Max OC for a 6970 on: June 21, 2011, 05:10:23 AM
I'm assuming you're over-volting as well. On stock voltage the second I touch over 1000 on my 6970 it crashes....maybe it's just mine. I'm sitting at 975/300 and getting about 410 at about 68C @ 70% fan (mind you crammed next to another 2 cards).
4  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [Testing] Eclipse Mining Consortium: The Be Everything 0 Fee Pool on: June 17, 2011, 02:21:22 AM
Yeah, but no pay?

Gotta wait 120 blocks for confirmation.
5  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [Testing] Eclipse Mining Consortium: The Be Everything 0 Fee Pool on: June 17, 2011, 01:15:53 AM
Solved 4th block an hour ago with 25 GH/s. Come join the fun! Seriously, I've been in almost all the pools and this is the one I see having the most promise. Plus the dude who runs it seems to be a nice, smart guy.
6  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [Testing] Eclipse Mining Consortium: The Be Everything 0 Fee Pool on: June 15, 2011, 02:18:34 PM
Argh, woke up to connection problems Sad
7  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [Testing] Eclipse Mining Consortium: The Be Everything 0 Fee Pool on: June 15, 2011, 06:05:24 AM
Throwing 1GH your way. This pool looks VERY promising imo.  Grin
8  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What is your current BTC situation? on: June 12, 2011, 05:40:03 AM
I plan on 'testing the waters' with a few hundred dollars. Played the penny stocks many times and love volatility. The 'real' stock market has been pretty boring for the most part lately. The action in the past hour is even more volatile than I'd like though I think lol. From $10.50 to $16 back to $12 in like a 10 minute span. Very few/small buy and sell orders in the $10.50-$15 range or so right now. Need some support to come in on either side or it's going to keep bouncing $2-4 every few minutes right now potentially.

So...since we are 'noobies'...are you...

A) an owner of bitcoins
B) Waiting anxiously to get funds transferred into MtGox or tradehill so you can start trading or investing in BTCs
C) Happily watching from the sidelines with no immediate interest in getting involved.

A & B

I've heard of that! Small world.....
10  Other / Beginners & Help / Sapphire 5830 Xtreme for sale for BTC on: June 12, 2011, 05:07:07 AM
Well I guess I have to post this here since I can't post in the proper section......(maybe it will get moved there).

I'm looking to sell the extra Sapphire 5830 I ordered and can't use at the moment. It will be shipped from Canada which will be included in the price.

Looking at an $11 exchange rate at mtgox and dropping I'll start at 18 BTC obo. I'll leave this post open for 24 hours and see where we sit.

I'm researching putting together a rig and this is the best I could find (in Canada so Newegg is a little more limited).

MSI 890FXA-GD70 - http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813130274

COOLER MASTER Silent Pro Gold Series RSA00-80GAD3-US 1000W - http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817171056&Tpk=1000w%20silent%20series

Of course the standard Sempron 140 and I've got RAM and HDD's kicking around.
12  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Any Canadian bitcoin buyers or sellers try Virtex Exchange yet? on: June 11, 2011, 02:32:59 AM
6 confirmed blocks (about 45 min) and the btc showed up. Selling it was stupid easy, put the amount you want to sell and the dollar amount. I happened to sell mine instantly as someone entered an order to bring up the price to the ask price. Withdrawing as we speak......will let you all know......

Update: Received the email about an hour after request. $25 more bucks sitting in my bank account. Seems legit to me.....hoping this sticks around and the volume gets going as I'm sick of getting hosed on currency conversion when CAD > USD.

Sending 1 coin. Lets try this out....
14  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Overclock multiple GPUs /w Trixx on: June 10, 2011, 06:22:25 PM
The only thing I can think of is move the sliders around in Afterburner and then hit apply (even if you just move them down 1 MHz or something) then switch cards in the settings and switch back to see if it allows the slider on the core to be moved up.
15  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Overclock multiple GPUs /w Trixx on: June 10, 2011, 06:05:50 PM
Fair enough, but underclocking the RAM will help with heat if you're worried about that. Anyway, what I said should still allow you to overclock the core.
16  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Overclock multiple GPUs /w Trixx on: June 10, 2011, 06:00:17 PM
I didn't find Trixx to be useful at all. I had this same issue last night and I finally got MSI Afterburner to work which is awesome because I love it. Basically what I did was change the clocks (started by lowering mem clock as low as it would go) then applying settings. Then under settings I changed to the other GPU and did the same thing. Then when I switched back to the original GPU I was able to clock the core up and the mem down some more. Just kept switching back forth until desired. Save profile.....win?

Hope that helps.
17  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Will this MOBO support THREE 6970? GIGABYTE GA-890FXA-UD5 on: June 10, 2011, 05:54:56 PM
You're going to have troubles getting 3 6970's in there I can guarantee that. I have the HAF 932 and it's a no go for sure. Probably caseless is a better idea imo.

Edit: You're going to want a case with at least 9 slots on the back panel if you do want to go with a case.

You're probably looking at something like this http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811119225 tower....but again it's $200 that's probably not necessary.
18  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: 5830 only getting 215 mhash OC'd on: June 10, 2011, 05:51:44 PM
Hey, I'm using SDK 2.4 with Catalyst 11.5 and I'm getting about 290. I've got it oc'd to 975/275 (which seems to be the sweet spot for mine). Also using the flags -v -w128 in GUIMiner. It's a Sapphire 5830 if that makes a difference.
19  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: 69xx Hashrate (am I stupid?) on: June 10, 2011, 05:49:07 PM
Hey, my 6970 is oc'd to 975/333 at stock voltage. I get about 410 mh/s and it runs about 78ish degrees max. Is your card an XFX as I've heard of issues with not getting as high as overclocks due to the poor fan. And I use -v -w128 -f0 on my 6970 on GUIMiner.

Edit: Mine is a Sapphire 6970.
20  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Will this MOBO support THREE 6970? GIGABYTE GA-890FXA-UD5 on: June 09, 2011, 01:08:13 AM
No, running at x8, x4, or even x1 won't affect your hashrate. And yes you can fit 3 of those cards in on that mobo. Now as for in a case that might be a different story.
