1  Economy / Speculation / Re: How much Bitcoin have you bought under $4000 on this dip? on: December 07, 2018, 04:23:01 PM
Better question would be how much have you shorted above 4K?

I'm 18 BTC short at $6600
2  Economy / Speculation / Re: miss out on bitcoin past low price? it's fine, if you miss out now you to blame on: December 03, 2018, 05:04:22 PM
Don't get me wrong am not a fortune teller nor am I a future predictor. Am just an investor that believes in long term investment. I did get to miss out on the suppose glory days of bitcoin using last year as example when the price started the year at around $700

Dont worry, soon you'll be able to buy at $700 again mate
3  Economy / Speculation / Re: Can Bitcoin get to drop to $5,000 and below in 2018 on: December 03, 2018, 05:01:20 PM
Reading back threads like these, pure gold!

How do you know Bitcoin payments are going down

https://www.reuters.com/article/us-crypto-currencies-payments-analysis/bitcoin-for-payments-a-distant-dream-as-usage-dries-up-idUSKCN1NP1D8

Quote
You sure you aren't a sore altcoin loser? Bitcoin down means altcoins down as well, must be hard for you. Roll Eyes

Why the hell would I be bearish on bitcoin and buy some crap altcoin? No man, I've been shorting bitcoin since it was 18k, made some good cash and going to make much more when this posh is going < $1000 next year. While people like you've been dead wrong and lost so much money. And will lose much more cause you're still not seeing it.
5  Economy / Speculation / Re: Guys calm down and relax. Its going to be fine. on: December 02, 2018, 06:50:31 PM
Traders want your money(coins) and will do anything to pry it away from you.
Haha. So the whole tank from 20k to 4k are just 'traders' trying to pry people away? That's so funny.

Anyway to me it's very clear. When BTC got popular people quickly saw that it could never work as a global payment system since it didn't scale. People sometimes say "yeah but LN is going to solve that", well LN is a joke like I've pointed out several times and will never work. Bitcoin payments keep going down, nobody pays with bitcoin anymore. In fact, sure, you can pay at some online stores like newegg.com with bitcoin but you should see the exchange rate, it's actually several percent more expensive to pay with BTC than with dollars so why the hell would that ever become popular?

Bitcoin is dead, smart people like me saw that and have been shorting btc the past year. And I'm still short, this thing will go below $1000 pretty soon. Big money is shorting/selling all upticks like we've seen, it keeps below $4400 and every hope will get sold again. The SEC will shoot down those crazy ETF plans soon, that will be the first big tank and then it will continue its slow death again.
6  Economy / Speculation / crytpto hedgefunds are shutting down massively on: November 22, 2018, 02:30:59 AM
More and more hedgefunds are shutting down because of the tanking bitcoin prices: https://www.marketwatch.com/story/how-bitcoins-meltdown-is-ravaging-hedge-funds-2018-11-21
7  Economy / Speculation / Re: This is why I'm not worried about Bitcoin price. on: November 22, 2018, 02:27:07 AM
I just miss the 2017 euphoria man...

There is more to come...

Well there's only 1 small difference this time: people have now seen that BTC doesn't scale well and thus isn't very useful as a payment system. LN won't work for reasons pointed out several times before. This time it's game over. However it's a slow death, could go on for even another year.
8  Economy / Speculation / Re: Screw that, I'm hodling on: November 22, 2018, 02:23:07 AM
I currently am in the same state of mind as last January. BTC went up and then straight down. I have learn my lesson, next November / December I'll probably sell a few to take profit.
Plus, I am trying to be realistic here :
-There was an unprecedented bullrun to 20k. Odds are veeeery very thin that, in the life of btc, we don't see another similar bullrun again.
-Goldman Sachs exchange !
-Lightning network (dunno really if this will help btc to recover, but hey, still looks bullish to me)
-Maybe some future nice fork annoucements ?
-No more weak hands since the 'crash'

I am hodling at least until mid summer of this year. And if the price stays down, then that would mean to me that I definitely missed the big opportunity at the 20K USD ATH.

HODL

Just wanted to check up on you. Are you still hodling?
9  Economy / Speculation / Re: What happened to this 'easy 10k'? on: August 08, 2018, 01:01:45 AM
It's game over now. Going to make year lows soon and from there next stop $3000. Bitcoin failed as an experiment, as per the recent bloomberg report bitcoin payments in stores plummeted 80% and as per that other report only 2% of Koreans (the main btc country) is even considering investing in BTC.
10  Economy / Speculation / Nobody is using crypto's to pay anymore on: August 02, 2018, 11:29:28 PM
According to the latest report by bloomberg https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2018-08-01/bitcoin-s-use-in-commerce-keeps-falling-even-as-volatility-eases
11  Economy / Speculation / Re: What would George Soros do with BTC today? - HODL, Sell, Buy More, Wait,Whale? on: April 09, 2018, 04:28:49 PM
This is how whales operate. First they tell you "it's a scam", then they say they regret saying so. That's exactly what Jamie Dimon did. They create dips thanks to their power in the media, then they buy the dip, then they buy tip, then they create FUD again, short it, then buy it at a higher floor than before.. and this is how they accumulate.
Ok let me ask you this then, if he's just starting a fund to actually BUY bitcoin, why is he telling that in the media? That would cause the price to rise (like it did over the weekend) so he has has to buy at higher prices. That makes no sense. It makes much more sense that he's actually a short seller. Or if he's now for whatever really bullish, that he already bought. Nobody is going to announce that they're going to buy soon, that's the dumbest thing anyone can do.
12  Economy / Speculation / Re: What would George Soros do with BTC today? - HODL, Sell, Buy More, Wait,Whale? on: April 09, 2018, 02:40:32 PM
As he seems to hate bitcoin (https://www.forbes.com/sites/gurufocus/2018/01/25/george-soros-from-davos-bitcoin-is-a-typical-bubble/#30b92b5729d0) I think he might be starting a short selling fund. So to answer your question, clearly, he would sell.
13  Economy / Speculation / Re: John eat-a-dick | Will he or won’t he? | ? Bitcoin price December 31 2020 on: April 06, 2018, 01:39:45 PM
How would I go about eating my dick? I would delegate the task like I delegate all unpleasant tasks. Most likely I would hire a Bangkok prostitute to do it for me. Slowly. Taking years if necessary. But this is conjecture. It's mathematically impossible for me to lose this bet.

So he's basically now saying that if he loses the bet he'll have his dick sucked for years by some prostitute. What an asshole.
14  Economy / Speculation / Re: I know we all feel sad - let's cry here on: April 06, 2018, 01:24:05 PM
There are others who are so desperate that they are in a complete denial of the situation, and write titles like "this correction is NORMAL",
Hahaha exactly this indeed. Man how many times did we read in the days around christmas that it was NORMAL that bitcoin dropped, because people needed money to buy christmas presents? LOL And now those same people say that others who bought around christmas levels were STUPID for doing so, because 'everybody knew those prices were too high'.
15  Economy / Speculation / Re: I know we all feel sad - let's cry here on: April 06, 2018, 12:38:26 PM
Just the opposite of what a wise investor should do: when it goes up very fast, sell at least partially and buy when the everybody is panicking. Or even better: buy and hold.
LOL, this is always SUCH a nonsense. I mean sure in hindsight it's easy to see when you should have bought and should have sold. But bitcoin prices have ALWAYS gone up very fast, did you sell when it hit $2000 for the first time? $5000? And when are the prices "very low"? Most idiots here will say that the $6500 it's at now is very low. I say it's still very high and that we'll see <$2000 this year. And if that happens, which I think it will, then this $6500 in hindsight wasn't exactly 'very low'. So these oneliners you post are really nonsense.
16  Economy / Speculation / Re: Be patient and calm yourself on: April 02, 2018, 11:50:42 PM
but bitcoin has always survived and came out as a winner in the end
That highly depends on your definition of 'the end' Smiley
17  Economy / Speculation / Re: Panic sellers are once again hating themselves on: April 02, 2018, 11:45:07 PM
$10k is broken and with this a lot of messages of people that sold at below $6000 trying to "cut their losses". Mostly because a lot of people was about to go bankrupt as their longs got liquidated. And with this, also came the super bears expecting $1000 a coin again, so they put really aggressive shorts, of course, only to get destroyed by the current recovery.

Lessons to learn for the noobs: Never panic sell, never margin trade, you can FOMO if you are here for the long term (5 to 10 years) since it doesn't matter if you bought at $20k or at $5k as BTC will be worth millions eventually.

This is too funny. You call the people who sold at 10k 'noobs' and now we're at 7k  Grin
18  Economy / Speculation / Re: Lightning Network = centralization on: April 01, 2018, 05:47:24 PM
you already have the funds in your own channel and you don't have to make another on chain transaction. you just have to connect to the other LN node.
Huh? Which LN node? There's no route to her, so you need to open one and thus pay the on chain transaction fee.
19  Economy / Speculation / Re: Lightning Network = centralization on: April 01, 2018, 05:21:20 PM
let me give you some visual aid of a simple example route including one "scary hub" in the middle!
Ok, now let's say you're AY_Yidliz and you want to pay Maca Macarena and Ln2.binance rejects, then what? All you can do is open a channel with her, pay the on chain fee, wire money into the channel and then pay her.
20  Economy / Speculation / Re: Log graph of bitcoins growth in price from 2010-18 - ? catch a falling knife? on: April 01, 2018, 04:56:00 PM

But I honestly can’t see that happening, with increasing use and ownership of bitcoin worldwide
Interestingly when I ask for proof of that, nobody has it. Bitcoin usage is dropping. https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2017-07-12/bitcoin-acceptance-among-retailers-is-low-and-getting-lower
