i'd be happier about turning on my air conditioner if it could get me some bits.
2  Economy / Speculation / Re: The beginning of the killer app era for bitcoin on: April 20, 2015, 03:58:08 PM
Anything that doesn't inspire cashing out to USD is a killer app. Otherwise, spending BTC is as good as selling BTC.

3  Economy / Speculation / Re: Are we to bearish? on: April 17, 2015, 04:29:13 PM
no, we just suck at grammar.
4  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price in 10 years..... on: April 16, 2015, 06:27:13 PM
it'll peak at $9999 and then crash, just to piss off a bunch of people planning on selling at 10k

5  Economy / Speculation / Re: On a positive note... on: April 14, 2015, 08:41:27 PM
the more merchants we have, the more selling we have. The more hacks, the more selling.

it's just selling, selling, selling until all our nuts go blue.

The only thing keeping this afloat are the hoarders, of which I am proudly one of them.
6  Economy / Speculation / Re: Hmmm. Something interesting happened last night on: April 14, 2015, 01:53:48 PM
someone people are needing to pay tax bills in the US. By selling off a losing commodity like bitcoin, they can pay the tax and get a write off for their losses for next year.

At least that's what I'm thinking, because that's the boat I'm in Sad
7  Economy / Speculation / Re: 100 bitcoins. Will I be a millionaire by 2020? on: March 29, 2015, 02:16:21 PM
With all good news from big companies investing in Blockchain technology I think it will be possible. Look at these examples from IBM and Samsung:

When a washing machine needs detergent, the washing machine can buy it automatically for you, and pay it with Bitcoins.
Washing machines, refrigerators who can restock automatically, all of it could be possible in the (near) future. Then ordinary people need Bitcoins to pay for it...

Why wouldn't washing machines order it with your credit card #? I'm already using CCs for auto ship payments from various companies. They don't take BTC for auto payments yet and I'm not sure they will need (or want) to....
8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [SDC] The Shadow Project | Anon POS | Ring Sigs | Decentralized MarketPlace (w) on: March 27, 2015, 05:46:38 PM
Can someone tell me why there is such a discrepancy in the price of SDC on Coinmarket cap vs Cryptsy?

I'm baffled as to why my SDC on Cryptsy isn't cranking like it says it is on CMK

thank you
9  Economy / Speculation / Re: Any possibility that these heists will work in our favor? on: March 21, 2015, 11:21:03 PM
it will be good for alts for a bit - and already DRK has been spiking heavily the last few days. Eventually it will all be turned into FIAT though, so it's an unstable time to buy.

I don't see any benefits for BTC at all here, except that the major news doesn't think these thefts are worth covering anymore - so that's a plus...I guess
10  Economy / Speculation / Re: 100 bitcoins. Will I be a millionaire by 2020? on: March 04, 2015, 05:53:45 AM

That is my point, too. Bitcoin can be replaced, by some other "improved coin", the same way Internet Explorer or Netscape were replaced. Back at the time, when these browsers were dominant, people were also thinking of them as something for their lifetime. And look where we are now.

You might be right but you are being selective. Amazon hasn't been replaced, eBay, priceline, and many other dot coms from the early internet haven't either. We can't assume all first ideas are failures..
11  Economy / Speculation / Re: dump is happening on: March 03, 2015, 07:06:00 PM
broke 280. I'm sorry I followed your advice and sold all my bitcoins Undecided
12  Economy / Speculation / Re: Weekly MACD is green! on: February 27, 2015, 06:22:49 PM
When im feeling down, I check the MACD on Bitstamp, if its green my depression goes away automatically.

I'm surprised you made it through 2014!
13  Economy / Speculation / Re: what just happened .. and why now ? on: February 27, 2015, 01:46:38 PM
it's been a few days since Morgan Spurlock did his special on CNN. It was a very positive program for BTC and I think it was shown worldwide (on TV - not just the internet). It takes a few days to open and fund accounts but I'm sure it convinced a few thousand to join the troops.

MEGA is also very positive news IMHO as they will lead the charge for many similar sites....
14  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why Bitcoin Flopped on: February 17, 2015, 05:14:17 PM
Sending money around the world in large amounts with little to no fees (and that's only the beginning) is quite different than cyborg glasses which the vast majority find intrusive and cumbersome.
15  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC $1000 Poll! on: February 16, 2015, 11:48:32 PM
by 2017 there will be another financial mess and BTC will be far easier to buy and hold securely. I say by the end of 2016....

16  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC increasing because of an attack on FIAT based wallet accounts, $350M stolen on: February 15, 2015, 03:03:52 AM
Now that I think about it... It could be this pump is the hackers buying bitcoin. Now the news is out and they are being hunted. They have to digitally hide their tracks and can with bitcoin/tumblers

I'm sure these hackers are well aware of bitcoin for laundering.
17  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC increasing because of an attack on FIAT based wallet accounts, $350M stolen on: February 15, 2015, 12:23:56 AM
When you hear them stealing billions, then maybe crypto gets a bump.
18  Economy / Speculation / Re: Any reason for the small pop in price? on: February 13, 2015, 09:30:19 PM
19  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Street being educated about Bitcoin on: February 13, 2015, 09:19:00 PM
Btc just needs to sick around long enough for WS to figure out how to capitalize on it. Resiliency leads to belief.
20  Economy / Speculation / Re: Any reason for the small pop in price? on: February 13, 2015, 09:16:23 PM
There was something about a major poker site which is getting ready to accept btc. If they lead the way, gambling could be huge for btc....

But who knows?
