Asus Radeon HD 7790 PCIe 3.0 x16 1GB GDDR5 Video Card
Radeon HD 7790 1GB GDDR5 Graphics Card
$129.98
              ^^^^

If You would like to reach Your hashing nirvana  Roll Eyes with rigs close to You, You should choose 7790 cards. Less than 250 KHash/s, but... 50% fans, 50C, and around 50W according to GPU-z. Silent. Cool... Cool

Thanks for the tip.
23  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I think I know why Bitcoin is Crashing... on: December 19, 2013, 08:16:42 PM
Is it DOG coin or DOGE coin.... how do u fucking say it?

It's supposed to be pronounced DOG but it's spelled Doge

I pronounce it as Douge coin though, like Rouge except Douge

'Cause it's funny that way

Oh damn. I've been pronouncing it DOG-E as in how much is that Doggie in the window, this whole time. LOL!
24  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] Bernankoin the Coin to save our economy - QUANTITATIVE EASING on: December 19, 2013, 08:14:20 PM
pankkake, I'm really disappointed in you!  Angry

If this was a REAL Barnakoin, all the coins would be have the ability to be disappear/ be bankrupted in a few years down the line!

No one is stupid enough to think printing more and more coins is sustainable for an economy of any size ... oh wait... hmmmmmm.

Important questions:

Does your coin allow the Chinese to buy "debt" against the coins?
How does you coin screw it's holders through programs like ObamaCare?
Do I get more coins if I am a minority or on welfare?

Why not just release a virus that steals all yours BTC and alt-coins and plays laughing sounds over and over, and call it a day?
Now THAT would be a Bernankoin!

26  Economy / Speculation / Re: buy high, sell low - the proven strategy that guarantees negative returns on: December 19, 2013, 07:48:48 PM

I am sorry can you point me to the date on this pretty graph where is that critical blow you are talking about, the one that would take years to recover from? I'm missing something obvious here. I see a price retraction to an All Time High of a month ago.

Or are you in full psychic mode and seeing future now? Can you then also let us know what would the price do while hopelesly trying to recover for several years?

Price of BTC went down 50%...          who needs a graph to understand that?

Right now it's hovering around 690. It will be interesting if the price will be ranging between 500 and 700, or if it goes back and forth from 700 to 1000 like it did for the last month or so.

I vote the former.

China was a biiiiig portion of the BTC money pie. I will take at least 6 months for a recovery.

Sorry, this is not going to be as easy as wishing a fast recovery into existence.
27  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which GPU is the next best ? on: December 19, 2013, 07:38:37 PM
1. Choose AMD/ATI ... Nvidia isn't for mining.
2. Choose xx90(dualgpu) over xx70(highendgpu) over xx50(normalgpu) over xx30(cheapgpu)
3. Series that are good for mining 58xx, 69xx, 79xx

R9 280+ cards are also good.

1. I know.
2. Thank you, that was exactly what I was looking for!
3. OK.

I have R9 280x's on order... playing the waiting game but need something to quench my mining thirst for the 1-2 week wait.

What about other card brands (due to scarcity)?
Asus, XFX etc.
A desireability order would help.

So yesterday before I saw replies to this thread I was so shocked to see Frys had gotten a new order of graphics cards in since the weekend, that I sprang and bought 2 x Radeon HD 7850's for $199 each. They also had 7770's which I passed on.

Should I use them or return them? (or use them for 29 days and return them before the return policy expires?)

I also saw a bunch of new cards in the $1000 range that had 6 GB each! Are those any good or are you basically paying for the premium of having all that power on one card?

China just delivered a critical blow to BTC prices guys... it could take years to recover from this.
29  Economy / Speculation / Re: BEAR TRAP :) on: December 18, 2013, 11:15:50 PM
Everyone with a brain knew BTC was not going to hold at $1,000 forever.

Smart money made money the past few weeks as it oscillated between $700 and $1100 every day or so.

Pigs got stuck and didn't sell before this big crash.

Smart investor always cashes out at high and rebuys at low, no matter what price you bought in at. It's called locking in the profits.
30  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which GPU is the next best ? on: December 18, 2013, 11:01:30 PM
I made a little excel spreadsheet, that takes in kh/s, wattage, and initial cost, and then will give you results of which has the best ROI. You do need to change the $ or moreso, cent per kilohash constant in it to get an accurate reading in what period of time you could expect to make your money back on the investment, but in terms of relativity, it will give you an accurate result. If interested I could upload it.

Please do upload it and post link tubbyjr.

I have free electricity (included in the lease), so power is not so much a concern for my rigs.

31  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which GPU is the next best ? on: December 18, 2013, 10:58:47 PM

Not a bad price but not the best. I see 7870 going for around $200 everywhere online.

As for nvidia, they make great gpu's for gaming IMO but for mining ltc definitely not the best.

Hmmmm...

I am thinking of buying a few just to mine with for the next few weeks and then return them before the 30 day return policy expires.

By then, my 10x R9 280x should be in.

jimmothy, is that a good price for a new 7870, or should I keep looking?
Yes, I know enough not to buy any nvidia cards.

34  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: if you want btc to succeed start dumping your iDevices/Apple on: December 18, 2013, 10:15:04 PM
Apple is the reason BTC just crashed hard....

Apple has a lot of pull in China since they have so many products built there, and told Chinese govt to squash it.

Apple = innovation killer.

38  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Mining directly to exchange account? on: December 18, 2013, 09:49:29 PM
...because of?

What would be a better choice, when large number of altcoins is needed? And why, in your opinion?

Cryptsy having way too many issues right now. Huge delays in getting coins out and coins getting stuck.

Not sure what a good alternative ATM is... BTC-E is great but limited for alt coins, can only do LTC, TRC, PPC, NVC, NMC.
