if it is so then, before i had the 750W power supply i had a chieftec 650W supply that would stop when both cards were running. i did again some math and : a 650W power supply with 80% efficiency gives me 520W of power available for my computer. it seemed it wasnt enough as it was shutting down the computer every time both cards started work the 750W power supply does not have this problem! it goes beyond my understanding what goes on with the power consumption, i'm just glad it's less than i anticipated thanx for your help

Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / curious about the power consumption

I have 2 x 5870 running on a rig with the cheapest one core amd processor and 2 gb of ram and a 750W power supply. my power panel shows that i've used 460kw of power in the last 2 months. doing some calculations that means that my rig took 314W of power for every hour it was working. this consumption is much lower than what i anticipated. the 2 cards are overclocked to 980 core and 300 memory and they make about 420 MH/s. they were up 98% of the time in this 2 months time frame. can this be true?

i had this MB and changed it in a week! i was running 2x 5870 and there were 4 mm left between the cards, the top one going to 100C without OC-ing. i strongly recomand against it!!! get one with more space. i changed it with a MSI 870A-g54 20 dollars more expensive but my top card now stays at 70C the bottom one dosent go above 65.
best of luck

i'm getting 420MH/s per card - 930MHz core 300MHz memory bfi_int Vectors aggression=11 phatk kernel - phoenix miner my problems is with the cooling as well. the top card can go as high as 100degrees C while to lower one stays at about 70C my problem is with the spacing. i think i got 4mm between the cards. that changes today as I'm getting a different motherboard.

actually 25mA of current has to go through your heart to stop it. knowing that the human body has a resistance of couple of Mohms(lets use 1 for the equation although is kinda bigger) the equation I=V/R is I= 12/1000000 = 0.000012 Amps of current in your body. that wont kill you, it will only make you stronger
