If it were possible I would give de-merit to merit beggars. But de-merit is problematic, since scammers and shills would abuse it to lower the merit of people making sense...

...
@Totscha: Main development has happened in our private BitBucket account. GitHub is used as a staging/integration tree. This is currently a private repo but will be public the same instant we release binaries; we want to checkpoint the last scrypt block before we release. Regarding cold/hot place, right now it's a little chilly so our preference is the inferno.
You're good. A calm response... Even if you are completely legit. And you'll have a hard time convincing me. I still feel the whole project is at the least unnecessary. It doesn't bring anything new to the table, not really. Using SHA256? The miner with the best efficiency that is willing to mine for the lowest profit margin is going to eliminate any miners wanting to use legacy hardware. Using an effective retargeting algo is not going to solve that. So that's not really something you can use to promote your coin. And then there's this thing I hear about a 1% premine. Modest. Just 5.5 Mil LCC, phew. Why did I even bother to mention this!? Pocket change... So in conclusion, there is a way to convince me of your honest intentions, but it would require: - full source code at least one week prior to block 1371112 being mined - mining open to everyone for block 1371112, no Dash style mining launches thank you very much - zero premine Until then, cold dark place it is

It's a useless fork no one asked for. This is solving a problem that doesn't exist. And doing a piss poor job of it.
The GitHub page is a joke. There is no core source code (client, nodes, wallet, etc...), just some useless code snipets. They haven't even bothered to create a real project fork on GitHub. They joined Github two weeks ago, they claim the development has lasted much longer. Sure they could have done that offline, but this is then a closed source project. This makes them highly suspect.
The use of SHA256 is a joke. Use of old mining hardware is a stupid proposition. The only coin worth mining with SHA256 is Bitcoin and you need the latest hardware. If an alt coin becomes more profitable it gets some of Bitcoins massive hashrate that effectively pushes your old machine out of the game.
The creators know they don't stand a chance creating a whole new coin by themselves. They are counting on your greed for the airdrop to get in the game using minimal effort.
I'm actually a bit conflicted about the situation. Not sure if I would rather send the creators to cold dark place or a hot blazing inferno. Decisions, decisions...

that is, it makes it possible to reduce the commission of not all transactions at once, but lower only those that the person himself chooses? What if he chooses a smaller commission, then his transaction can be postponed? ...
"After all is tested, the final version will be released." That is, it is not yet the main version, and the main version will be released in the near future?
As you think, when it is released - it will not be considered a significant event.
By the way, maybe a hard fork Litecoin Cash can soon raise the price for Litecoin?
Yeah. You can lower the fee as much as you like, but the transaction can be delayed or not even sent (it expires and you get your LTC back in a few days). Yes, the final version will probably be released in the next few weeks. This version, no. The next version that will actually reduce the transaction fees will be more significant. Please don't talk about that scam. It's just sad how people get on board these stupid forks. A SHA256 Litecoin with a 1% premine, what a joke!

Hey. The expected softfork about which Charlie Lee wrote came on the 8th "LiteCoin Core 0.15.1rc1". Litecoin did not react in any way to this event. Tell me, this fork has not yet become public? That is, reduced commissions have not yet become available to all during transactions? Perhaps the growth will be when the version becomes available to everyone?
We did not react because there is nothing major to react to. Yet... A few reasons: 1. The LTC Core release has a rc1 suffix. This means it is a release candidate. Only power users are expected to upgrade. After all is tested, the final version will be released. 2. This version only reduces the minimum relay fees (0.00001 LTC) in preparation for the next upgrade. The minimum transaction fees will be decreased (0.0001 LTC) in the next version. * What are relay fees? Basically the minimum tx fee is just a suggestion. If the blocks are not full, you can select a lower transaction fee value. But then it's up to the miners to decide when and if they will include your transaction in a block. You can go as low as the relay fee. If your fee is lower than the relay fee it will not even be sent around the network i.e. the miners will not receive it. It's not set in stone however. Any node can set a custom value that is lower, but don't expect your transaction to be transmitted anytime soon...

nope, read further, they stated that the current solutions are not capable to cope with "the millions of transactions per second the system would generate at world-scale. " I think they will not consider mentioned blockchains as possivle candidates of DID "... we are collaborating on decentralized Layer 2 protocols that run atop these public blockchains to achieve global scale ..." To me this means they plan to create a sidechain ("Layer 2 protocols") to enable "millions of transactions". They would still be pegged to the public blockchains ("run atop these"). They find the decentralized blockchains extremely valuable since they provide immutable records that prevent tampering. But of course they see that storing all data on-chain is impossible for global scale applications, Hence, pegged sidechains.

What is more interesting in fast changing environment in cryptomarkets, is new positions and strategies are being made and worked on continuously. Litecion came out in this changed scenario as important player seeing it being mentioned with Bitcoin and Ethereum everywhere. Don't really care of the value for the moment but try to understand where Litecoin is going in future.
This! I knew LTC was going places when it got added to Stamp. Since they are the most conservative exchange out there. Part of the reason why they're still here after 7 years, I guess

Heyy everyone.. I would like to ask some of you for your opinion on litepay. As this weekend or this month that is going to launch. What would be the least price expectations?? As it is a very big achievement and i expect a good price jump. Any guesses ??
My guess is that there will be many price predictions. Some conservative, some ultra bullish and ultra bearish also. And there is a high probability you'll act on the wrong one. Personally I'm long term (years) conservatively bullish, short term I have absolutely no idea.

This isnt possible man still going lower This is a fucking crash a bloothbath 3rd world war Damn hollecaust this isnt normal anymore guys...
About as normal as bitcoin gets. Unless you figure in a lot more down side. But then it's still normal. The charts are available everywhere, have a look at history. Destination low is sub $1500. Thats the long term chart. Each long wave down ends just above the previous wave high, which in this case was $1200 in Dec 2013. Already gone $19000 down to $6000, so over halfway there. Best to get it over asap. We need blood in the streets for a healthy correction My panicking friends have been asking me if they should get out ASAP, so that's a good sign we've entered the capitulation stage...

We are going to $4k, but I'm already preparing myself psychologically for $2500.
Sad, because I remember the 1st of August and it was memorable when bitcoin was above $3000.
Nobody is going to buy right now, because it keeps dropping.
Maybe Ifinex is doing this, selling their btc in other exchanges and provoking a snowball effect. They need the dollars to prove the tether is backed by them.
So 2.3 billion worth of bitcoins are being dumped.
I was thinking on selling to buy back lower, but who knows, it can stop right now and come back up.
Do any of you have numbers of how many btc were dumped since this bear run started?
Thinking the same about selling now and rebuy later. But everytime I tried that, it directly went up. Do it, please...
