3  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Mt.Gox will relaunch the site at 3:00 GMT. Trading will resume at 4:00 GM... on: June 25, 2011, 01:49:51 AM
There's a simple explanation for all this "Mt. Gox is slow 'cuz I'm impatient waaa waaa" behavior.

Crack.

Crack kills.

And, tell yo mama to pull her drawers up next time. That crap is horrible to see.
4  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: New Difficulty - 57% Increase. 1 GH/s = .656 BTC on: June 24, 2011, 08:35:02 PM
Mining just got a LOT less profitable.

1 GH/s used to bring in 1.146 BTC per day. Now it brings 0.656 BTC/day.

BTC are currently trading for $15.50.

So a guy with a 1GH/s rig went from making $17.76/day to making $10.16/day.

Both figures are gross profit, not net profit (after electricity taken out). I used Deepbit's estimator for these income figures; for proportional pools, multiply figures by 1.07. For proportional pools with 0% fee, multiply by 1.10.

Daily income for 5830's is now 0.167 BTC, or $2.60.

The sky is falling! The sky is falling!

Angelus, just sell us your gear and stop.

You like to blame the news reporter, just because the world is a dangerous place.

Go ahead and put your head back in the sand -- I won't be competing for that particular hole in the ground. While you're at it, feel free to buy some overpriced video cards from eBay or the Selling forum here. "Bitcoin is going TO DA MOON! If anyone says anything negative, I plug my ears and say 'Lalalalalalalalala...'"

I'm the voice of reason. No wonder so many people here don't like me  Wink

I don't think of you as the voice of reason, I think of you as that little kid that keeps harping on the same thing over and over and over. And it's annoying.

Except that, to me, you're the little kid. You're probably younger than me.

Really? Really?

75% of these replies directly criticize you and/or your "logic/lackofmeaningfulopinion," and you return with "I know you are but what am I."

Nice, kid/bra/troll/Matthew.

lolololololololol

6  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: To people who are technically versed: Will the HD 7xxx series be good at mining? on: June 23, 2011, 03:24:08 AM
Horrible. The 7 series will be the worst cards at mining period (AMD will actually block the SHA-2 family). Better save your money and get that Matrox...
7  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I just had 300 million sperm stolen on: June 23, 2011, 03:22:24 AM
I think we need to see the proof-of-work for that transaction. Might be a long chain, might be real short.

Next time he needs to encrypt his wallet. Sooo many ways it can escape into that big, dark hole and never return.

9  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Visa and Banks After BTC on: June 23, 2011, 01:27:00 AM
Hey, don't you talk about Shirley like that. Shirley is a very nice lady. All her biker friends are so kind to me.
10  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Visa and Banks After BTC on: June 23, 2011, 01:24:20 AM
Yo. Mama.

It's right there in the disclosures...

She's behind all tin-foil inducing stories....
11  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: 6 blocks an hour my ass! on: June 23, 2011, 01:17:05 AM
I sure did. Seems like you didn't read either, nor did you look into the context of my claims.

And I don't have to curse to cross-examine...

Besides, what does your expert criticism say about OP...ohh yeah...it doesn't.
12  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Nuclear Energy. Do you want more or less? on: June 23, 2011, 12:22:37 AM
nuclear plants are still safer (injures/kills less) than fossil fuel plants

Yeah, right.
Tell that to the people living near Chernobyl.

That was a soviet design :-)

He's mad cuz he sold his 5830 for $55.
14  Other / Meta / Re: Can we start to use "troll" correctly? on: June 22, 2011, 10:04:22 PM
Seriously people, a troll is not someone who has a different opinion that yours. Read up on it if you have to on Wikipedia.

How many times will I have to see this scenario repeated again and again:*
Some poster: X card will be less profitable in the future
Troll dyslexia poster: All card will be less profitable you troll

Or

Some poster: You should think about X
Troll dyslexia poster: No, troll, I disagree.

*(Note: examples are subjected to extreme paraphrasing. See back for details)

Maybe, troll, but other trolls can inflame with nonsense opinion, obviously derived from smoke and/or mirrors. Why was troll posting about X card, when basic knowledge/search/reading/comprehension shows X is in the subset of all?

Some poster: X card will be less profitable in the future
Troll dyslexia poster: All card will be less profitable you troll
Meta-troll: What?!? He said troll to "X card" and I didn't get 2 replies! Scoff! I'll show them! Wikipedia troll reference-pow!
15  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: 6 blocks an hour my ass! on: June 22, 2011, 09:15:46 PM
A few days ago on here, someone was claiming to calculate the income of a 5830, and he calmly stated what a months' income would be -- based on 877K difficulty!

(Newsflash, bro: that difficulty level expires in LESS THAN TWO DAYS! Sorry to burst your bubble)

So you won't get more than 2 days income at this difficulty -- and then you can't count on 1.3M difficulty either, because that will only last 8 or 9 days...

Those monthly income projections are so stupid. That's why you have people wanting to sell/return their mining hardware -- when reality comes a-calling.

Ok, bra...so whats different about the 5830, or any other card, troll? Now you show up here harping on the 5830.

Difficulty increases are across the board, whether the new miner with one 4650, or the super miner with 20 rigs of 4x 6990s. Everyone will be affected the same.

Mining for block generation is for the long haul, and correlates with both difficulty and price. Both can go up, and down, Captain Obvious.

It's called efficiency.

You think every card has the same MH per watt?

Or that every rig uses the same number of watts to achieve a given MH?

Have you? I didn't see anything in your original reply, nor any other troll-like replies you've submitted. Efficiency cracked in later replies (with some decent insight from others.) Besides, wasn't OP talking about block generation, not possible costs to get there or other inconsequential crap? I chimed in when I saw your troll-like behavior show up yet again and mention a 5830 card.

Reality is, crap tons of people got on the bandwagon, and they may or may not stay on it when it fords and flips in the Mighty Missip'. You trying to divinate that moment is fool-based theorycrafting.

Block generation will level out with the scope it's designed to, will decrease with reduction in computing power, and will accelerate with network growth. Second-order type variance will always screw with simple parameters.

16  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What's your Mhash/s? (Pissing contest here) on: June 22, 2011, 06:28:15 PM
SHA-2 cluster putting out 3 Thash/sec at 10% capacity...

Hope you like MW2 for those graphics cards :-)

Personally, I'm giving crap because I'm selling some 5830s for market value (ebay auction style no reserve), and the market itself moves them to prices he's not willing to "believe." Sorry subjective valuation takes him to trollville (Wasilla, Alaska). It may not be the "best" card for Mr. Troll, but it will work for some people and some setups quite well.

That, and there are other trolls who have recently set up shop knocking the boosted value of the 5830 (not only on their own thread, but decent, legitimate 5830 posts)...probably because they didn't get theirs and don't want anyone else to have it either.

He could have searched for "5830 AND troll", and found his little hairy brothers and sisters.

Do not by a Ford Festiva for $20000. It's a rip-off.

Make sure when you buy a Festiva is a good price in relation to that 88 Monte Carlo.
