1  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Keyur Mithawala and CampBX on: February 12, 2016, 12:29:52 AM
Keyur Mithawala of CampBX appears to have stolen bitcoin we purchased from him in 2013.  Guess I wasn't paranoid enough-- the balance is correct, but customer service doesn't exist and we can't transfer anything.

1. Is this the right forum to talk about this?
2. Is there any class action suit or law enforcement action we can participate in?

Thanks for your help.  I'll be more paranoid next time...
Ted Thomas Angry

Hi Ted,

Sorry to hear about your delay.  I wanted to reply and assure that we have not gone anywhere - we are still the oldest Bitcoin company in USA and working on coding new features for CampBX from our Alpharetta office.

If your account has been inactive since 2013, you may have to do a KYC verification to regain access.  PM me your ticket number and we will move it forward for you.

Thank you,
Keyur

No response to ticket for months.

This looks like a sock puppet account, but I will bite.

Please PM me your ticket number and I will make sure helpdesk resolve your issue as soon as possible.

Hi everyone,
We are the oldest Bitcoin company in USA in operation since June 2011.  Issues can and do happen, but we have resolved all of them satisfactorily for our customers in the end.

LeChatNoir,
If your issue has been resolved, I would like to request you to update the threat title to reflect that.  Thanks!

Offroadbiker,
You talked to our offshore helpdesk associate during live chat.  If you put in a ticket our Atlanta-based team members will get back to you with a response in 48 hours.  To answer your question regarding USPS transfers, ETA for credit to your account is 2 business days after your mail is received at our office.

Thank you,

4  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: CampBX (POSSIBLE SCAM) why did you close my account? on: July 08, 2014, 12:01:07 AM
I see my account has been closed and i have no idea why they did that since my behavior has always been good with them in the past months. I had a liquidity provider bot running on their exchange and more then 25K $ deposited. I just found out other people had serious issues with them in the past so this looks very fishy and i seriously think they're running a scheme over there.

I STRONGLY SUGGEST YOU TO NOT DEPOSIT FUNDS ON CAMPBX UNTIL THEY GIVE US SOME EXPLANATIONS.

I contacted their support and will update as soon as they answer me.

LeChatNoir,
Don't panic - We are reviewing a few accounts and your account may have been one of the marked ones.  PM me if you are not able to log in by 5 PM EST tomorrow.

Thank you,
      Keyur

Geremia, this record is for "Whoisguard" company, which is an intermediary protector for the domain CampBX.com.  CampBX is based in Alpharetta, GA.

We have recovered all BTCs from D-DoS time and resolved those tickets in February.  Your issue may be something different and our sys admin will review and resolve it shortly.

6  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Camp BX Hacker / Security Audit: Results on: January 30, 2014, 11:43:31 PM
Has CampBX failed Huh

I requested a withdrawal 9 days ago and nothing.
I submitted a support ticket and nothing.
I called and no answer.
I emailed support@campbx.com and it bounced.

Hi Aurum,
     No we have not!

We have disabled email helpdesk to minimize spam.  You can create a ticket with helpdesk and our team will get back to you in 2 business days.  Live chat is also available from our after-hours team.

The withdrawals are backlogged by a few days due to our backend system switch and bank closures in Atlanta after the snowstorm.
We are working hard to clear the backlog.

Thank you,

7  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: CampBX Support MIA - Are they stealing customer funds? on: December 18, 2013, 01:13:56 AM
Gentlemen,

1) Regarding missing BTC deposits:
We did a wallet wipe of old addresses (expired deposit addresses) on Nov 19th to improve trading engine performance amidst heavy trading activity.
Any deposits that were not confirmed by midnight EST may not have been credited due to the address being invalidated.  Our sys admin is working on these tickets and recovering deposits.

2) Regarding paper deposits and electronic withdrawals:
We process a massive number of paper and electronic deposits / withdrawals.  At this scale we have discovered many issues where banks, post office, and our own admins can make human errors.  Overall error rate is less than 0.01%, but unfortunately errors take longer to resolve as we need to document and trace the issue with our partners, banks, or USPS.  Electronic errors are resolved in 15 business days and paper errors are resolved in approximately 3 weeks.
It takes a long time but we always resolve issues to customer's satisfaction.

Also wanted to add that CampBX does not do ANY ARBITRAGE with customer funds, or trade directly with any customers.  We are purely a platform to match buyers and sellers as documented in the FAQ and policy documents on our website.

Thank you,
       Keyur

8  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: CampBX: Incompetence or Fraud?? on: October 25, 2013, 08:08:54 PM
AgeraS,

Several issues with your deposit and KYC:

1) Your check did not have any username written on it
2) The email address you provided on the check was incomplete
3) Your initial KYC application may have been incomplete or not upto quality guideline requirements, so your account was not verified.
4) Your subsequent verification requests have come to the helpdesk - they cannot work with sensitive documents and cannot help with KYC.  I have forwarded your new documents to compliance for processing.

These four issues have delayed your resolution.

Thank you.

I sent a USPS MO to CampBX the beginning of August and it was recieved on the 9th.  I wrote a ticket on the 11th and posted on their Facebook on the 16th.  On my FaceBook post they promised it would be address but it's been 12 days and no response.  It was a couple of hundred dollars but it my money.  It there any recourse or am I screwed?

Farooq,
I do not see any ticket by your name.  Please PM your ticket number.

We are current on MO processing and all MOs received by Wednesday have already been credited.  If your MO is still not there, then you should be able to cancel it and claim the amount back from issuer.

10  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [RESOLVED] Is CampBX a ripoff? on: August 26, 2013, 11:51:46 AM
There's several of us on this forum that have also been waiting for weeks. I'm thinking of mailing them a letter, that's the only other way to contact them besides emailing. Are they on these message boards regularly?

Hutcho,
If you didn't receive a credit for your MO deposit for more than 3-4 days, it may have been unreadable / incomplete.  Please cancel the MO and you can reclaim the full amount of the MO.

Thank you,
     Keyur

Just so everyone knows this is the PM I sent to "Keyur @ Campbx":

Quote
Please read and respond or do the right thing -> https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=278973.0

Since you or whoever over at Campbx is ignoring myself and others this is the direction you are pushing people.

You can make a choice and do the right thing(s) or continue to ignore us/me (which we both know isn't right nor do you have a reason because none of us know you or have done anything to you).

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=278973.0

Again just so you folks know I'm not wanting to pursue ANY legal action but, I have business to run and I'm NOT in this to have people RUN with my Identification details OR MY MONEY.

DM,

Looks like you are posting on multiple threads at a rapid pace - I have already replied to another thread.  Let's continue the discussion there.

Finally I have my bitcoins.  This morning when I checked my account the deposit finally showed up.  Thanks Keyur.  Now I can breathe a sigh of relief.  Since they changed to the new system everything has been running very smoothly.  My only complaint has been the missing deposit which has now been taken care of.

At least something has happened for you.  Being a business man and one who follows things to the letter I've had a not-so different experience that is currently on-going.  I don't want to take this to a legal level however since I am running a business and the funds, not to mention my personal information plus the time invested all have a direct relation to keeping my operation running.  With that being said I don't typically have the "luxury" of someone doing something when they basically feel like it (ignoring you and not responding to you when they have your money is highly unethical and extremely unprofessional).  Maybe you made a mistake, sure but, ignoring you a paying customer?  That makes no sense.  Also don't think I'm being critical without offering assistance.  I have offered Campbx assistance and they ignored me (as they did all other emails that were about doing what they claim per their own statements).

I like you probably thought they were legit and doing the right thing in a timely, professional manner.  Sadly they are not and I'm seeing MANY folks on here have tried to be patient with them (it's very difficult to be patient when someone is playing "games" with your hard earned money) so it's with a heavy heart I had to write my last post and my final post on the matter before (not without proper response although plenty of time has been given already, from Campbx).  Please read/follow the events here as they unfold -> https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=278973.0

DM,

     1) Compliance is working on performing KYC verifications for applications.  They have a backlog because a lot of apps have come in this month.  Should be cleared next week.  We are also working on Compliance upgrades that will resolve backlogs for good by end of September.

     2) Can you PM me ticket number regarding your MOs for $1,500?  Keep in mind you can cancel unprocessed MOs and get the full amount back at any time.

Hi Pirate1,
I made a typo when forwarding your PM on this forum to sysadmin, which caused the delay in finding your coins.

Apologies for the delay.

Enough to make you reconsider the expiring addresses idea?

Or does having the expiring addresses help your operations somehow?  I'm not trying to be a d***, I'm just curious why you made the switch.  Seems like Mtgox has been operating fine allowing old addresses to be re-used.

Excellent question: MtGox and CampBX are architecturally different.  We handle all Bitcoin transactions in real-time and ensure full synchronicity with P2P network at all times.  This has major advantages in terms of security and redundancy, but it does take a toll on performance.

Disposable addresses is a stop-gap solution which helps performance significantly.  We are working on developing and testing a more permanent fix.

I have been ignored since the 24th of July.  I got in touch with Keyur, the owner here on the day my deposit didn't show up.  He said I would get my bitcoins the next afternoon.  Then I got three e-mails on the 24th all saying I would have my money in 1-2 days.  Since then I can get no response of any kind.  I have sent several e-mails and another ticket.  I get the automatic, we got your submission and then never hear anything else.  This has really hurt my situation financially as I had already made commitments for that money.  It has worked fine every time I have used the service since then.  I   kept using the service but at this point I am looking around for another one.  It is totally unacceptable that they are keeping my 4.1+ bitcoin deposit.  The owner and support have both said I would get my bitcoin in a day or two and we are now at almost three weeks.  Monday will make three weeks.  That is Monday the 12th of August.  This is wrong.  All they have to do is check the transaction, go to the address and move my bitcoins to my account.  This all happened before they put up the notice that bitcoin addresses would age out.  In fact, that notice got put up the day after I talked to Keyur on this forum about this.  I guess Monday I try to call every phone number I can find and see if I can actually get in touch with anyone since they won't respond to e-mails or support tickets.  This has been really frustrating.  I have been a good customer of CampBX but that may be changing soon.  I can't see continuing to do business with someone who will occasionally take a bit of your money.  That may be a little harsh but they need to resolve my problem or it certainly looks that way to me.

Hi Pirate1,
We have received a higher than expected number of requests for recovering Bitcoins sent to expired addresses.  We have resolved a large majority of tickets so far, and yours is in the pipeline.  Our apologies for the delay.

Thank you,
       Keyur

If Keyur is monitoring this thread I would like to mention a problem that has come up.  I have been using the service for a few weeks and have been liking it.  The problem is that the bitcoin deposits are taking longer and longer.  I have been using the same address since I started.  Originally, a few minutes after sending the bitcoins it would show as a pending deposit and then within an hour or so it would be confirmed.  Then it started taking longer and longer.  It started taking an hour or more to show up and then a few hours to get the six confirmations.  Then today I sent a deposit at 11:30 EST and now at 5:15 EST it still is not even showing as pending.  What is going on?  I have sent an e-mail, submitted a support ticket and tried every number I could find to call.  I am disabled and my bitcoins are my only income so this is very important to me.  It says the turn around for tickets is three days and that is an awful long time for me.  I would really like to know what happened to my bitcoins and why they are not showing.  I sent to the same address I have been sending to and nothing has shown.  If they were going to quit using an address they should let the customers using that address know that fact.  I don't think that is what happened but something is going on.  I would appreciate it if someone from campbx could resolve this for me.  I have the same name there as I do here, pirate1.  You have my e-mail address on file under pirate1 or can message me here.

Hi Pirate,
As of July 15, Bitcoin deposit addresses come with an expiry date or ~2 week.  Make sure you generate a fresh address for every deposit.  If you sent your deposit to an older address, put in a ticket and we should be able to credit it for you by tomorrow PM.

We have also upgraded to a new data center on Sunday, so your Bitcoin deposits / withdrawals should show up within 10 minutes + time required to earn 6 confirmations.

18  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Big Selloff = CampBX down? on: July 06, 2013, 08:22:08 PM

I got a question about CampBX downtime... If I have an order set before the website is inoperable, will any pending orders be filled anyway? Thanks!

Orders on book are not affected by slowdown, and will get filled.
19  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Big Selloff = CampBX down? on: July 06, 2013, 12:01:17 AM
so you mean to say people will money by using your site?  what if there's panic selling on steroids tomorrow and btc is down to 10???  you think that's ok?

people think where you deposit your hard earned money.

TW,
All Bitcoin websites are susceptible to slow-downs during peak activity.  What we are trying to convey is that we are working on a permanent fix to this issue.

Thank you,
    Keyur

20  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: CampBX is down on: July 05, 2013, 11:58:37 PM
That doesn't make any sense at all. The performance of your trade engine should have nothing to do with bitcoind, because there's no reason that internal database adjustment to customer balances have anything whatsoever to do with the blockchain, and even if it did that doesn't explain why every action on the website is sluggish even on the best days.

We settle trades in real-time between customer wallets, in addition to updating balances in the database.
