21  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Basic terminology and some issue on: August 14, 2014, 12:19:03 AM
a share is a work unit also know as a problem
accepted share means the server sent you a work unit and you solved it and sent it back
rejected shares means the pool sent you a work unit and for some reason your miner sent back an error (1%error rate is normal 10% on gpus)
stale share (you will see a few with gpus) it means someone else solved that work unit as it took to long for you
22  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: 5GPUs on win7 with 13.11 beta5 possible? on: December 12, 2013, 03:02:12 PM
in windows 7 use 12.8 drivers or if you feel lucky 13.1 may require you to uninstall all AMD drivers and reinstall them again after a restart
also do a custom install and select everything except the display driver and audio driver restart again and then run install and custom install again and install the display driver
23  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: v2 blade... Problem? on: December 12, 2013, 02:56:02 PM
not sure why you do a reset every 24 hours as this could do more damage than good. cooling and heating up causes solders to crack.
anyhow if there mining at a good speed and are stable then count yourself lucky Cheesy

there are better ways
i cant understand why people use those god awful things when theres much easier and much better ones out there
there ones where its a basic math puzzle
a series of numbers need typing
or even picture ones where you click a picture
and ontop of that theres the good old slider one wher you slide the bar until the picture looks correct you hit enter and your in

26  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Rented miner with high HW errors on: November 20, 2013, 04:36:26 PM
that is atually really really bad. there is no way HW or rejected shares should be more than 2% of accepted.
either
A. the miner has been rigged to look more powerful than it is
B. the guy renting it to you has some seriously crap cooling and slower than dial up internet
27  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: ASIC miner USB 330 Mh/sec - problem on: November 20, 2013, 03:54:59 PM

35  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Getting Bitfury USB miners to work on: November 20, 2013, 02:17:38 PM
without looking and seeing whats going on i cant really help much more the only other thing i can suggest is trying to run the zadig tool as administrator by right clicking and run as administrator
36  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Getting Bitfury USB miners to work on: November 20, 2013, 01:59:49 PM
open it up then click
"options"
"list all Devices"
a drop down list should appear
select the bitfury miner and click replace driver
it should then replace the driver and use a winUSB driver
unplug the miner and plug it back in and it should now be ready for use with cgminer
if the latest cgminer dosnt work then it might be worth try version 3.5
37  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Getting Bitfury USB miners to work on: November 20, 2013, 01:38:59 PM
the only other thing i can suggest is to try cgminer and use the zadig tool to change the drivers
38  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Getting Bitfury USB miners to work on: November 20, 2013, 12:34:33 PM
if you really stuggle it might be worth asking to see if someone can host them and give you remote acess to the devices

1. most motherboards will NOT send 500ma (the required amount) to the front USB ports
2. uninstall everything youve done BFGminer uses them as com ports like Bitminter so they should install from windows if they dont you need the
www.ftdichip.com/Drivers/VCP.htm
3. use the latest BFGminer https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=168174.0
or bitminter client
4. everything should work

tips
1.make sure the HUB has enough power start with 1 miner and get it working before adding more
2. if you can use a Dedicated port on the back of the PC directly to the motherboard as these give the ma needed
3. bfgminer drivers are also in there post so might be worth using them
39  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Need help on: November 20, 2013, 10:47:47 AM
if you do want to buy block erupters the start off with 3-5 you need a good USB HUB something like the Dlink D7 HUB its not cheap but its a good alrounder a perfect starting point and a computer or laptop or rasberry pi
40  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What happens if 2 people generate the same bitcoin wallet address? on: November 19, 2013, 04:46:59 PM
i belive it has happend once and only once so far. im not sure if it was true or not but there where threads about it some time ago.. anyhow if you generated 1000 bitcoin addresses a second for a million years i think it works out at a 50% chance so yeh not very likely

I don't think you have the math correct.

I think its closer to 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 years.

sorry i was just going off what i thought id heard might have been a trillion addresses a secound for a trillion years Cheesy
