1  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Upload and Download speeds needed to mine on: December 27, 2017, 01:53:06 PM
Where my rig will be placed there is no internet.  I have an AT&T USB modem that is getting around 6MB down and 3MB upload speeds.  Will this be sufficient?

Depends if you're going to mine in a pool, or solo.

I've seen people saying that 10kb/ps is enough for pool mining, since you only need to send the work in and out?

This answer might be a bit more indepth. See https://bitcoin.stackexchange.com/questions/360/what-are-the-bandwidth-requirements-of-a-mining-rig

I will probably start with Nicehash to get my feet wet then move to mining solo

Hello all!

Been lurking for quite sometime and I have decided to take the plunge!  Would love opinions on this potential rig...

GIGABYTE GA-Z270P-D3 LGA1151 Intel Z270 2-Way Crossfire ATX DDR4 Motherboard

(3) EVGA GeForce GTX 1070 Ti SC GAMING ACX 3.0 Black Edition, 8GB GDDR5, EVGA OCX Scanner OC, White LED, DX12OSD Support (PXOC) Graphics Card 08G-P4-5671-KR

Intel BX80677G3930 7th Gen Celeron Desktop Processors

CryptoCase Sentinel 6 GPU Mining Case - Stackable Open Air Rig Frame

EVGA SuperNOVA 1000 G2 80+ GOLD, 1000W Fully Modular NVIDIA SLI and Crossfire Ready 10 Year Warranty Power Supply 120-G2-1000-XR

Ballistix Sport LT 4GB Single DDR4 2400 MT/s (PC4-19200) DIMM 288-Pin - BLS4G4D240FSC (White)

Samsung 128GB SSD

I will be running windows 10 and the machine will run off of a Verizon Jetpak hotspot due to not having internet where the rig will be located.

Any opinions on the rig and what the best coin to mine is appreciated.
