That's exactly the slogan I put in my mock Pool! Ok, I'll register over there soon. Initially I put Picard's Facepalm for the background, but it's hard to find a legible font color for it.
Dreamwatcher, that's quite a beef machine! I guess you are serious with this. However, your ram is probably a bit low comparing to your CPUs. Do you know if Scrypt and scrypt-Jane require lots of memory to validate the blocks? Do you know which from job is hogging ?

Dreamwatcher,
I am guessing that the slowness is related to your VPS. It's possible that it's disk latency, triggered by cache generation, or maybe you are out of RAM.
As soon as you moved kedcoin.com to a separate server, the site went quite a bit faster, so I am guessing it's not merely just the code. The code itself seems simple.
Because of the slowness, I was under the impression that your pools are at/near capacity. Because of that, and to satisfy my own curiosity, I intended to create other pools for these coins. At least for UFC, which I felt was very slow. I am not going to launch before the exchange and the giveaways.
If you don't mind me asking, what size of VPS are you using? I am guessing that the VPS is powering both UFC and GPL now, right?

Well, UFC is there too. I voted for it. Unfortunately we can only vote once.
|
|

The poll says pick 3, but we can only pick 1

I did have some problem with GPL, but I didn't look into details. Switched to KED instead.
Meta, you mentioned that you used GTX mobility, so you are only mining on a laptop?
Just want to do a poll here, how much do you think GPL is worth now? Let say, how much you'd sell/buy 100 GPL for?
Just_me, sent a small bit.

They are mad only because they cannot reach Chinese (children) miners! But it's well understood that your time spending for mining is less productive than if you work flipping burgers.

Finally able to pool mine GPL. All of these times I got the start time wrong, I was using --StartT 1377557832 per Jonoiv's post instead of --StartT 1377557867.

I started with one 6850, and exchanged it with one 7950 last week. 4 would be lovely, but they are hot, noisy, and costly. Not good for the Mrs...

Well, that was random ! Gratz guys! Can't wait for the exchange. I wish my hash rate is in the thousands like that of dreamwatcher's! More GPU, more GPU, more, more.... WAAAAAA

Dreamwatcher,
There seems to be something wrong with your new pool. I've been mining KED for a few hours now, and my balance has not increased at all. If I look at the transaction history, I can see that I get credited for the shares from each block, but somehow they don't add up to the main balance. Not sure if others are having the same issue.
Scify,
Is there anyway to fix those unconfirmed 352 KEDs of mine?
I guess it's good that we are discovering these kinks before they go more mainstream, sort of beta testing/QA-ing these coins.
I am an experienced IT-professional/developer in real life, although not very seasoned with cryptos yet. I'd love to help out to make these coins successful if needed. Been tempted to create my own pools, but not sure if they are necessary at the moment.

I think moving the pools into separate VPNs would be great as these coins gaining popularity. That's why I think it's a great idea to prepare before exchange is open, because the coins should only (hopefully) gain popularity. BTW, I also have about 350 KEDs not confirmed early this morning. I've been mining using kedcoin.com pool, using cgminer. Here is the pic on the unconfirmed transactions on my wallet:

I think I need to shut the server down, update the pool server software to latest and do a general cleanup.
However, I do not think it wise to do this so close to the opening of the Scifi exchange.
It could be worse after the exchange is open.

Just for my own eduction, I am curious about what happen with pool gets stuck, like KED yesterday or just now with UFC.
What happen to the orphaned block? What happen to the shares contributed for that block? What you do need to do to fix it? Just restart the pool?
Also when the difficulty is very low, it seems that the pool efficiency goes down as well. My interpretation is that because the work is simpler, many shares become stale as new blocks are found faster requiring workers to throw away previous work to work on new block. In this case, it would be more efficient to solo mine. Is this correct?
Sorry if I sound like an enthused newbie, because I am.

Lately it seems getting cgminer (and its forks for mining gpl,yac..etc) has been quite the voodoo of getting the right SDK and driver version working with version of cgminer you or the modified cgminer uses.
On my 6950 rigs, I often find it easier just to run version 2.11.2 cgminer.
Thanks for looking into this, dreamwatcher! That old version of cgminer would not be able to mine scrypt-jane coins, right?

OMG, Bitcointalk is back! It's alive!
Btw, KED has been stuck for 15 hours, no new block.
I have been having problem mining GPL using the scrypt-jane-gpu that's posted above. I keep getting "Invalid Nonce - HW error." even after tweaking the conf to be very conservative. Is there something I need to know with the scrypt-jane miner that's different that typical cgminer conf?
I am using 7950, been able to find a decent conf for both KED and UFC within the past week. No luck with GPL. I'd appreciate some pointers.
Thanks

Btw, there is a little typo on GPL pool site address on first post. It's currently gplccoin.com instead of gplcoin.com.

With middlecoin, aren't you going to end up managing many little wallets ?
