1  Economy / Economics / Re: Devs taking the role of a central bank? on: March 05, 2018, 05:04:00 PM
It's turning worse, another local coin apply a supply change of a 40X less in the coinbase generation for a year, and of course the dev have a lot of it premined.

Is a shame what is happening in my country, people are going to lose the credibility of cryptocurrency because of this.

Hi Guys,

I've lot of concerns about an alt coin (a Litecoin copycat), this coin is running from the last year September, and has been traded by a good volume (based on the local market, the coin is only used in a local context).

The problem is that the devs want to change the supply params to make it scarse, the current max supply is 123.456.789 and they want to cut it down to 9.672.777, and the theoretical max daily coinbase supply now is 14.400 and they want to cut it down to 2.160.

Of course, the devs, owns an important percentage of the current supply.

I had never seen a change in supply parameterization like this, the main idea is to raise the price of the coin because there is not more purchasing power anymore as you can see in this chart of the last 2 months:

The coins is only traded in a very local context, and people don't seems to have concerns that the devs takes the roles of a central bank too, moreover, they are doing a survey on telegram about this change, which of course everyone involved want their coins to have more value.

What do you guys think about this? do you know any similar case?
3  Local / Altcoins (criptomonedas alternativas) / Re: [ANN][AIRDROP][2018] LuKa - Criptomoneda Chilena on: December 30, 2017, 10:15:52 PM

Premines

Litecoin will come with 150 premined coins: just the genesis block and the first 2 blocks to confirm the genesis is valid.  We believe a coin needs to be released in a fair manner.  Having one person (or a group) control a large amount of coins that can be used as they see fit is against the decentralized vision of Bitcoin.  Yes, it is true that without a stash of premined coins, we will not be able to afford to pay for bounties, but we believe people will see the virtue of this coin, invest in it as early adopters, and will be willing to spend time creating services to make this coin better.

Fairness

We have come up with a plan that we believe is most fair.  Some previous coins were released without Windows binaries or without source code; we consider this as unfair as it is unsafe.

We released the source code and binaries ahead of time... 3 days before launch.  People had time to compile the source and run the client on their machines against the Litecoin testnet.  So people were able to make sure everything was working well before the launch.  We also had a poll so that people can vote for a launch time that best suits them.  At the time of the launch (Oct 12 03:00 GMT), we released the genesis hash and everyone started mining at the same time.  All it took was a simple change in the config file in order to mine the real coin instead of the testnet coin.

Code:
    int64 nSubsidy = (50000/nHeight + 10) * COIN;
    nSubsidy >>= (nHeight / 1051200); /* 1051200 = 2 años */

Muchas gracias!!
