Depends on what your looking for but I think the 1070ti or 1080ti are a better option than a 1080. The 1070ti produces more hash power on the memory intensive algos (Ethash, Xevan) work more efficiently across the board and cost less than a 1080. The 1080's real benefit is that its better on Equihash. However, a 1080ti is DRAMATICALLY better than a 1080 on Equihash so I think the real options are 1070ti or 1080ti.
Ethereum will go to PoS, so we have only 1080ti. And do not use Equihash, its prefer algo is lyra2z, tribus, phi, allium or something like this...

What to mine with 8x1080ti. I'm a fan of lyra2z, but seeing how MPH got swamped with bot-farms, the coin is no longer profitable to mine. The algo is cool though, very easy (or so it seems) on the cards so I'd like to switch to something else, Zcoin is a dead-end anyways.
You can try to see what new coins are there on this algo - as far as I know there is two coins which released few weeks ago - IFX and CRS, both are MasterNodes coins, so worth to try imho And PBS, all at BSOD and trade on the CryptoBridge.

Can amyone say which algo 1080ti mines better than others. For example a have 3 rigs, 4x1080ti and 4x1080, at algo c11 i see that 1080ti is better than 1080 for almost 30%, but usually i get 20-25%. Is there an unprecedent winner, where 1080ti has advantage over other cards?
Yes, it is. This is Lyra2z algo, 1*1080ti ~ 4*1063 cards. But don't mine xzc, you can choose phobos or cryptoreal...

How are you guys mining this with 1080Ti? Which miner? I run into problems after a few minutes mining (Unspecified launch failure and hash won't validate on CPU etc.)
I found a couple of advices on the net indicating that I should lower intensity and specify power limit but it doesn't seem to have any effect.
I use ccminer 2.2.4 32bit --power-limit 80 -i 20 About 2000 Mhz Core ~0.95 mV . I haven't any issues with this settings.
