41  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is better than gold and USD? on: June 02, 2019, 10:06:49 PM
United State Dollars is a currency, gold is a precious mineral and bitcoin as they say is digital currency. But to me bitcoin is not a currency rather an asset like a bar of gold. USD and Gold is widely accepted in the world not like bitcoin. Currently I really do not see the use case of bitcoin though we say you can buy and sell will it but the question is what exactly do they buy with bitcoin? I see it to be a mere say. It is high time we started chopping bitcoin rather than making in an online currency with only buying and holding for better price.
42  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are you still hodl? Then we go to you! on: June 01, 2019, 08:50:28 PM
Do you still hold coins and wait for them to grow?
I trade every day and make a profit. I can make a few in one day. For a month, it turns out about 100%
Why sit and hodl coin?

What you are saying is pretty true. Looking at the fluctuations in the market now, you can make some profit if careful observation and analysis is made. Am going to start trading now. No need to make my money lie down idle
43  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is not money on: June 01, 2019, 08:43:45 PM
Bitcoin is not money.

It is more an artwork with 21,000,000 limited editions. And each limited edition contains 100,000,000 limited pieces. (satoshis)

That is how I see it. Bitcoin is not money. It is rather an asset like gold, silver, diamond and other precious mineral. We buy and hold it. We sell it when the price goes up. Aside this, I have not seen any other case use of bitcoin.
44  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Btc has no value on: June 01, 2019, 08:39:40 PM
I think bitcoin has no value. I really do not see the use case of bitcoin. We only see it to be digital currency which we buy, hold and sell. Aside these things I really do not see what we use it for again. I think it is high time we started trading it for goods and services. My humble opinion
45  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why bitcoin is successful? - this one statement sums it up! on: May 31, 2019, 10:46:02 AM
Why bitcoin is successful?
Why no other crypto currencies are able to even come closer to it?

We often look for the answer of these questions. The twitter handle of CryptoKanoon answered it and I can't resist myself from sharing it with the fellow community members.

The tweet says,

Quote
No head
No funding
No employee
No PR agency
No Social media
No advertisement
No board meetings

The only reason which made #bitcoin succesful was the purpose and that was to help people overcome their sufferings.

I don't think of anything better can be answered against those above mentioned questions! Want to beat it??

Yes. It is because of its independency and no central government or person is regulating it. Bitcoin is a master of itself. I really like the answer. This should tell people looking for the downfall of bitcoin to step back. You have no person to contact to regulate it wrongly, no employee to do shoddy work to bring it's value down and the likes.

51  Economy / Speculation / Bitcoin has done it again on: April 03, 2019, 07:42:16 PM
Many people was wondering if bitcoin can stand the test of time. They were waiting for the day they will announce the collapse of bitcoin. Trust me people yarn for its downfall. When the price of bitcoin dropped to 3.5K, I saw many antagonist of bitcoin and cryptocurrency rejoicing. I advice them that this is not the first time bitcoin has recorded that price and it was going to rise in no time. Now bitcoin has done it again. It is now around 5K and it won't remain there. It is going to rise beyond imagination and expectation. Bitcoin has done it before. To all the antagonist and babylons of bitcoin, never underestimate the power of bitcoin and cryptocurrency. Bitcoin has done it again and it has come to stay. Hail btc!!!

54  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Welcome to 2019, Lets set the goals to achieve this year. on: January 03, 2019, 09:39:49 PM
Bases on  forum time, I want to seize this opportunity to welcome everyone to 2019. Happy new year to you all. If you have made it this far after the series of bear market we experience last year, then you deserve the profit 2019 and the future holds (hopefully) only if you continue holding your bitcoin.

Moving forward, lets set the goals we're hoping to achieve in 2019. Studies have shown that when you write your goals and share them,  it increases your chances of achieving them.  So without wasting any time use the code below to list five (5) goals you desire to achieve in 2019.

Code:
[b][color=red]MY 2019 GOALS[/color][/b]
[list]
[li][/li]
[li][/li]
[li][/li]
[li][/li]
[li][/li]
[/list]

Note: It's a new year so lets not start the year with insults/looking down on others.  Your goal might be to achieve 10btc or 500merits while someone else might just be one. Feel free to write some few words before listing  goals.

Topic will be locked in 1-3weeks time and will be reopened 1st Dec, 2019 then you can rate yourselves.

MY GOALS FOR 2019
1. I wish to earn a merit to graduate from newbie to Junior member and beyond.
2. I want to gain an in depth knowledge about Blockchain and cryptocurrency.
3. I want bitcoin and other altcoins to see the light of the day.
4. I want to educate more people on crypto.
5. I want to see scam projects eliminated from the system.

These are my wish for 2019 and I want to see it happening within the month of January.

56  Other / Politics & Society / Politics is a damning shit on: November 05, 2018, 07:14:10 PM
There has been an alarming rate of unemployment in this era especially among the youth. The various organizations and companies are almost especially the state owned ones. Politicians give the available slots to their own people in the name of politics and political party affiliation. The ordinary youths suffer at the end of the day. What the politicians always tell the youth is that they should be creative and innovative. The should be able to create something on their own in this technological era.
Thanks to Satoshi Nakamoto for such a brilliant idea in the invention of bitcoin. The youths have made good use of such an idea and are creating something meaningful out of it. The youths are thinking and planning for the future to make life simple. The greedy politician who always want to be boss and think about satisfying their own id are trying to find all possible ways and means to bring crypto down which it won't be possible. Politics is really doing more harm than good because of some powers we have bestowed on them. We gave them power to create employment for us but rather use the power to make us unemployed. It's high time we stood up as crypto enthusiasts and fight for our right. Politics is indeed a damning shit which needs not to be pampered. Politicians have nothing good for the youth.
57  Other / Meta / Re: Is merit rewarded based on merit or whom you know? on: October 18, 2018, 07:51:05 PM

Please I need your observations on this merit policy and its distribution.
Well, this is not exactly the way you're reading it. The merit sources are actively searching for newbies to merit. The issue here is more about the quality of the posts, this is difficult to find some quality posters nowadays.
Of course, after some interaction between the people, seniors members are used to merit those ones whose posts they find to be qualified for the task. Of course, this is a matter of probability: if you have been in here for a long time, and you are active and aware of the forum issues and circumstances, that's more probable for you to write something of use to the community. This is fairly normal, then, that senior users are the more rewarded ones.
But it doesn't mean that there are personal preferences, in fact, newbies should be more rewarded, for there are many people out there just looking for some newbies to reward. The problem is that there are few, actually, deserving it.

Oh I see. I really love your suggestion. Very educating. Thumbs up my boss.
58  Other / Meta / Is merit rewarded based on merit or whom you know? on: October 18, 2018, 07:26:48 PM
Since the introduction of this merit policy, I have been following how people with merit source award the merit. One thing I have observed per the given out of this precious merit is that most people award this merit on the basis of "whom you know or who knows you". Just a few people are going by the actual brain or principle behind the institution of this merit policy. A lot of people with the merit source just share the merit among themselves forgetting about the intended purpose. At times, you could see that a certain post deserves to be rewarded because of its importance to the forum members but the otherwise happened. Now my question is "Is the merit really rewarded based on merit or whom you know?

Please I need your observations on this merit policy and its distribution.
59  Economy / Speculation / Bitcoin Has Hit the Bottom: Why it is Unlikely to Fall Below $6,000 on: October 18, 2018, 04:04:17 PM
Bitcoin has stabilized at $6,500, after rising to $6,700 on fiat-to-crypto exchanges and achieving $7,700 on Bitfinex.

Over the past 48 hours, the volume of Bitcoin has risen from $3.2 billion to $7 billion at its peak, but has since dropped to $4 billion. In a two-day period, BTC has shown a 25 percent increase in its daily trading volume, which can be considered as a positive indicator for the short-term trend of the digital asset.

Can Bitcoin Defend $6,000 Support Level?
The general sentiment regarding the mid-term price trend of Bitcoin is if BTC can successfully and comfortably defend the $6,000 support level in the weeks to come, then a large shakeout or a significant drop to the low $5,000 region is highly unlikely.

Based on the stability BTC has demonstrated since early August and the fact that the dominant cryptocurrency had not fallen below the $6,000 mark as the daily trading volume of the asset reached its yearly low, it has become more challenging for bears to bring down the value of BTC in the short-term.

Cryptocurrency trader Eric Thies stated that it is rare to find an asset that tests a major support level more than 20 times on a weekly chart. He emphasized that the only way BTC falls to the $5,000 region is if an unpredicted event occurs that negatively impacts the crypto market by a magnitude that exceeds the expectations of every investor in the market.

“My core reason on BTC bullishness is simple: Find me anywhere in any market where the floor held 20+ times on a weekly chart, only to break to the downside afterward. You’ll be looking for a while. The only way it happens on Bitcoin would be from an enormous black swan event.”

60  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Good news on: October 10, 2018, 11:30:15 PM
There is a massive change in the perception people have in bitcoin. I used to hear a lot of bad news about bitcoin in the middle of this year around June and July. People had fear during those times because of the constant fall in the price of bitcoin. People have now reached a state where they have realized that bitcoin has gone beyond collapse. The fake news by bitcoin antagonists have been identified by cryto lovers especially those have not known bitcoin for quite too long and the new members who wish to join the bitcoin train. This is as a result of the good education, advice and constant flow of information the crypto lovers and activist always give. Their efforts are yielding effect now. Many people have now realized the need to hodl their bitcoin and not to be dumping it. New members are doing a lot of research now.
I am saying this because I was one of those people who was afraid of the collapse of bitcoin. I got swayed away by those fake and baseless news about bitcoin until I got myself with some of the information being shared on this forum. I know a lot of people who at first wanted to sell their coins but have hold because of the education they got from this forum.
I have found an article written by @Technomage very useful and I recommend it to everyone.

My advice to crypto lover is that do not be swayed away by the fake news about bitcoin. Do a lot of research about bitcoin and you will see the relevance of it. I love to be educated. Let's all unite and safeguard our pride.
