Seriously, the customers of this industry were hurt multiple times.
We understand that it will take time until people will trust us. We don't expect it will be an easy transition.

It's not so much a question of trust, but of risk. Pre-orders that aren't even due for 4 months are a huge risk to the customer. Why are you putting all that risk on the customer for the SP30? That's not how you did the SP10.

YW.

Happy minting. Smiley
1963  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: HashFast announces specs for new ASIC: 400GH/s on: April 09, 2014, 08:11:45 PM
Yes actually. When you make a pre-order and then expect immediate shipping you are being unreasonable. If you want immediate shipping, don't pre-order. It's simply amazing how many people fail to understand how to do that.

No one has ever been forced to pre-order mining gear. If you don't like it and everything it implies, don't do it. Easy.

Done. Thanks. Gadzooks man what's with the trust rating?

I think the pre-order thing could work if the company receiving the funds behaved honorably. Unfortunately that doesn't always happen and then the customers have to try to force the company to do what they said they would do.

Why don't you guys pop a Xanax and let economics run itself?

1967  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Best Alt coin to invest in 2014 on: April 09, 2014, 05:47:46 PM
HBN: POS coin with active community and really good dev.

PoS is good .... why you say those devs are really good? Any proofs? Smiley

Check out the hbn thread. Check out the hbn wallet. The proof is there. Smiley

Phs dev is likewise pro-active and seemingly always busy protecting and improving philosopherstone.

Sounds good, but the price will stop in it's tracks unless we can move that heavy ask wall on mintpal.

for those of us who have cash tied up in preorders, including hashfast, spondoolies-tech are offering 10% discount.
i've ordered a small rig from them and just needed to send them proof of my refund request.
my babyjet should have been hashing by now, just glad to have another option to allow me to keep mining.

Is spondoolies selling in hand gear yet?

 Roll Eyes

do mangos ripen on the tree?
/m
i'll stand under that tree for as long as it takes, and hope that a mango drops into my hand before someone else comes along and picks it

So that's a no then? Roll Eyes

You won't have me competing for the mangoes falling from the tree.

How many lying, stealing, slimebag pre-order distributors do we need in this space before people stop placing pre-orders? No thanks, being robbed by hashfast was enough for me.

man you really are hurt... sorry. still no need to tar everyone with the same brush.

I asked a simple question. I don't know what spondoolies is doing, because I haven't checked their thread in some time. Instead of a simple yes or no I get some snotty crap about fruit trees. Welcome to ignore.

Is there something unreasonable about expecting these companies to actually have something to sell before paying for products?

But you get a 10% discount!

People seem to delight in the misery of others. Baffling.

Looks like you are worse off than me investing in a 'scammy' company. poor you.

Thanks for your mock sympathy.

I too sent funds to scammers. Obviously.
1975  Economy / Securities / Re: [Active Mining] The UNofficial Active Mining Discussion Thread [UNmoderated] on: April 09, 2014, 04:00:49 PM
@solarion:  The money you have invested in Ken is gone, ignoring people won't change a thing.

I invested nothing with Ken. I unfortunately sent funds to hashfast last sept in exchange for a sierra in November. I still don't have any hardware from hashfast 6 months later. I only became interested in this thread and ken's obviously scammy company when I found that others were obtaining hashfast gear from vmc.

...I see nothing to be gained from arguing with shills. ymmv.

If we can get openssl updated to block heartbleed bug and coin control features added to the Zeitcoin wallet I'll toss 5 BTC at that bid wall. Grin

I'll fix it for your 5btc :-)

lol

not quite the same thing. Wink

+1

Obviously this channel won't be 'abandoned', but it does get somewhat tiresome having to answer the same question again and again and again because most people here don't read back beyond the current page (if even that!) before posting.

On OUR forum - designed & maintained for those people who really are interested in more than just the sale price of the coin +/or general FUD - information is laid out in a manner which is easy to find & easy to comment on without it getting lost in the background clutter.

And of course, there are things which those 'true zeiters' need to discuss away from here, due to the number of Quislings & fair-weather friends here.

As time goes on, the balance will swing more & more toward the forum - ESPECIALLY when the coin starts reaching out to a wider audience than those BCTalk members who occasionally look in here.

We are NOT 'just another coin'.

We are going to change the world.

Not just the alt-coin world but the really-real world.

I hope everybody understands that Grin

Fair enough, thanks for your detailed reply.

Don't bother drasted...you're wasting your time.

wallet.dat is a file not a folder. It's the only file that's irretrievable. It contains your private keys. Make numerous backups of that file and keep them safe.

In the interests of keeping this simple, just go to appdata/roaming/battlecoin and delete blkindex.dat and blk0001.dat.

Restart battlecoin-qt. The wallet should begin syncing. If it is not syncing after a few minutes then go back to appdata/roaming/battlecoin and rename battlecoin.conf to battlecoin.conf.bup and try launching battlecoin-qt again.

JUST TO LET YOU ALL KNOW...

... what our forum members already should know:-

Zeitcoin & Winevirus have already began to investigate the issue & take action.

A public statement/updates will be made ONLY when they are absolutely certain that the code is 'sanity-checked'.

Please concentrate on what YOU can do, leave the tech-stuff to the experts Smiley

Thanks for the response. I hope the plan isn't to abandon btctalk as an information outlet. I'm on the zeitcoin forums and think they're beautiful, but I can't keep up with all the information I'd like to as there aren't enough hours in the day. If the information sources become fragmented more information will be missed.

Not asking critical questions with regard to cryptos is a recipe for disaster.

Is the ZEITCOIN wallet also vulnerable to that? How can we fix it?

yes.

bribe the zeitcoin devs to update openssl version as many other coin devs have already done.

I think this issue is more important than fighting for keeping the price at a certain level right now. Please others chime in, and let's find out who and how to fix this vulnerability.

If coin value = 0 then who cares if there's a heartbleed exploit in the wallet? Everybody wants a stable price and a secure wallet. Not sure why the zeitcoin devs haven't addressed this issue yet, or if they have how I missed it, but the wallet version I'm running now has vulnerable openssl code.
