why this topic is in bitcoin economy

It isn't, it is (fittingly) in the 'Politics & Society' section.

You must be really stupid to sell at 1 sat, after all,it can't get any worse than 1 sat Grin and you can only hope for the better.

It could be delisted against BTC and paired with LTC and go down to 1 Litoshi.
(I do not think this will happen, but things can always get worse.)
563  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Bank hacks on: February 17, 2015, 07:32:55 PM

Anyway that money was insured so it's ok ... the biggest thieves on earth are insurance companies Smiley
Exactly, does anybody know if the insurance companies have tried to get in on the bitcoin insurance bandwagon yet?
Would be a hard job for them but if you can prove that your cold storage is safe with 2 of 3 or similar then I'm sure some insurance company would take you on.

Maybe even use it as a selling point, Trezor insurance sounds good.

I've posted in bitcointalk, in the past, that it would be an incredible idea for an insurance company to offer Single Pay Whole Life insurance policies  sold for set prices in Bitcoin. Obviously, the regulations to set up such an idea would be cumbersome, at best...and very possible, impossible.
BUT, it would 1) make burial policies appeal to a whole new group/class/generation of individuals. And 2) make insurance companies lots of money (which I find nothing wrong with, as it is their job and obligation to their shareholders).

Links in the Press forum should at least mention Bitcoin. That's the purpose of the Press forum.

I mentioned BTC in the description.
You are welcome.

567  Bitcoin / Press / Re: 2015-02-15 Cryptonews Identifies Suspect in BTER Hack on: February 16, 2015, 02:54:43 AM
We have a suspect! With help from Franko Collective people who started as well to research on this horrible situation of BTER. His name is Woźniak Sebastian he is the guy that owns the server in Switzerland with the IP 46.28.204.193. Why do we believe it’s a suspect? Well, he seems to be a hacking & Bitcoin enthusiast having an article on Hacking9 & a profile on Bitcoin Foundation. Also, he scammed people in the past on Bitcointalk and has a scarce information on his Facebook account. We have a strong belief that in a way or other Wozniak Sebastian is implied in this hack. Until future investigation he will remain “suspect” and not guilty also we have a strong belief that isn’t the guy that has Bitcurex, it would be awful, but somebody using this name for his online assets. We will keep you updated on our tracing to the guy who robbed BTER, again this is “Wozniak Sebastian” is just a link, a hint, a suspect.

The author of the article doesn't understand that the IP address listed on the transaction page is just the node that relayed the transaction to Blockchain.info.

I wonder how many other bitcoin news sites are going to pick up the article even though it is totally wrong.

Plus, if the hacker was using TOR, it would create a false IP address.

Yikes!

Don't keep your BTC on the exchanges!
569  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: calculate profit/loss on: February 15, 2015, 06:09:55 PM
Hay Guys whats the best way to calculate profit/loss of miners?
I know this has probably been ask millions of times but have had a quick search not turned any thing up.

Thanks in advance guys

It is rare for any home miner to profit off the mining, at this point.
Your best bet is to get in early on a new wave, mine for a couple weeks, and sell miner while it still retains that value.
570  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Indian Grandfather Paralyzed After Encounter With Alabama Police on: February 15, 2015, 06:05:18 PM
I'm sure there'll be a civil suit filed at minimum. If the cops don't wrap the thin blue line around this officer, then he might be held criminally liable. I doubt that'll happen tho. Most likely is the family will get a settlement which the taxpayers have to foot the bill for. Ideally, the officer's pension should be at stake here because of his behavior.

Ideally, he will spend some time with a few of the people he locked up.
571  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Terrorist Attack in Denmark on: February 15, 2015, 05:37:59 PM
on the way then?

The whole of Europe seems to be under siege.  Angry

Because of a couple of shootings?

No, because the Islamic Imam's are indoctrinating their people to commit these atrocities with false promises of eternal bliss. They pray on the most ignorant.
The world needs to step up and not just stop ISIS' physical terrorism campaign, but host a full scale education campaign to help educate the Mideastern Muslim youth that are centuries behind in modern education and civility.
572  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Where are the trustless or mostly trustless exchanges? on: February 15, 2015, 05:23:04 PM

I'd say Coinbase based on their relationships with major industrial companies.
They just have too much to lose and not enough to gain by pulling a gox.
573  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is it the right time to invest on BTC on: February 14, 2015, 10:39:24 PM
I would say wait for some time and see. Prices are very tempting, but it has been around at this for sometime and there is a good chance that that it may crash further.

It may. It may not.
Nobody ever hits the bottom, nor the top of the markets. The key is coming as close as possible.
Right now, the valuation seems like a great time to jump in, with a significant leap. Regardless of what happens in the next 6 months, value will move as we reach 2016 and close in on the next reward halving.
574  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Seals W/Clubs on: February 14, 2015, 08:38:53 PM

Anybody know why they've been offline for a day now?
What's the issue?
Coming back, ever?
etc.?

https://twitter.com/sealswithclubs cash outs are allowed. Hardware failure apparently, not much to worry about.

Thanks, just saw that and submitted a cash out request.
Has anybody else done so already? And has it been successful?

Lastly, if Micon is around, could we get an eta or an idea of the issues? The twitter feed is not sharing anything new.

I like the idea, hope it becomes a reality.
Seals is okay to use, but seems too many friends like to play at the same tables.

Announcement today?
578  Economy / Collectibles / Re: 1964-D Kennedy HalF Dollar + listing for SBA's on: February 12, 2015, 04:24:09 PM
One more listing.
Uncommon Susan B Anthony Dollars.
Ebay listing: http://www.ebay.com/itm/111597599078?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649

"One of the varieties is the "Narrow Rim" variety. However, this variety is the norm for 1979 dollars and is usually not used when describing a normal 1979 Susan B. Anthony Dollar. The second variety is referred to as the "Wide Rim" variety. The "Wide Rim" variety is the scarcer of the two and usually commands a significant premium.

A regular 1979 Susan B. Anthony Dollar with a "Narrow Rim" will have the rim of the coin separated from the date of the coin.

A 1979 "Wide Rim" variety or the scarcer variety from 1979-P Susan B. Anthony Dollars, will have the date of the coin very close to the rim of the coin, and almost touching."

$12 on there, I'd accept $10 total in BTC, includes shipping.

(Lots more coins coming.)
579  Economy / Collectibles / 1964-D Kennedy HalF Dollar on: February 12, 2015, 11:02:36 AM
Likely MS grade, high AU (55-58) at worst. Color did not come out too amazing.
$10. Includes shipping.
PM or reply to thread...lots more coins to come.

EDIT: SOLD
580  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2015-02-11] Accept That BTC Is A Currency & Stop Blaming The Victims of Crime on: February 12, 2015, 02:29:15 AM
Translation from goverment-regulationeez:
"We don't understand bitcoin, so we are advising people to not use it. And since we have no ability to enforce the law, we are going with blaming the victim."

Either this or "Bitcoin will kill our sources of profit, and we are afraid of it, so please do not use it"

I'd agree...might even change "profit" with "authority".
