Why are there no updates on slack anymore?

slack is still active but you haven't been online there for quite some time now.
i sent you a PM.
2  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will Bitcoin survive world war III? on: March 24, 2016, 07:19:47 AM
WWIII or its preparation started years ago. I guess its only a matter of time until escalation starts. One thing is for sure - WWIII, if escalation starts, won't take long....
3  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Hello, I would like to ask the wallet to make super node. on: March 07, 2016, 12:07:36 PM
My wallet is only one node, the node is fixed. How do I give this purse as a super node. Is that each user opens a wallet, automatically becomes a node.
I now paste this code:

// DNS seeds
// Each pair gives a source name and a seed name.
// The first name is used as information source for addrman.
// The second name should resolve to a list of seed addresses.
static const char *strDNSSeed[][2] = {
{"node1", "112.74.92.94"},//official
{"", ""},
};

what are you trying to fulfill? i don't understand your question exactly. You want each user to act as a node? (for your understanding: each wallet is a node in the network)
4  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: 1 BTC reward for anyone who can recover my password! on: February 27, 2016, 09:02:08 AM
sent balance of .75 to ognasty escrow

https://blockchain.info/address/168WXhzu3yfRqMHohAF9KH9LfDarazndUY

the coins have been transferred out. and why are you "pretending" willing to pay 1 BTC for recovering a wallet with barely money on it?

So what exactly is happening here ? This thread is even serious or the OP is just bored and trolling ?Apparently,he sent money to OGNasty ,not sure which OgNasty he is referring to ? Who is the guy recovering his wallet ? And how is it even possible to share his private key with some stranger? Op you are heading in the wrong direction...

I really think someone is trolling us. He posted a private key and a password which he think was misstyped. No one can be that fool. Something is going on here for sure.

i don't get it. what would be the sense in trolling here? He wouldn't get anything for it. He s just wasting his time.
Did we have similar trolls here? ( I am only used to the fud/spam trolls, who "at least" make others mad and get them on rage..)
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ROOTCOIN [ROOT] - new official thread on: February 22, 2016, 06:50:25 AM
still no coins on my wallet, 5h.

hey mika,
was it synced when you transferred the coins out? btw - you can still use the old wallet, but a new one is rolling out.

@ all others: we are mostly working in our slack channel. PM me for an invitation. we have weekly progress updates. github is also a good way to check the progress.
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ROOTCOIN [ROOT] - new official thread on: November 24, 2015, 02:18:46 PM
Hi,

Is there still a dev for this coin?  Please contact us at support@bittrex.com to prevent RootCoin from getting delisted.

Thanks,
Bill

Blockchain stuck fixed

Blockchain "issue" is fixed now and network runs. We ll push out an upgrade during the weekend.

Dead but still moving... mmmh so it's a zombi coin!

Immortal. Thats what makes zombies special (apart from their preference for blood and brain).
Nah - all joking aside. Hopefully we are able to release the 3.0 very soon. Checkpoints are already
updated, and autocheckpointing is added to the sources as well as some other major updates.
8  Other / Politics & Society / Re: ISIS impregnates 9-year-old girl on: April 15, 2015, 09:21:01 AM
Another noble deed in the name of the God by the religion of Peace.

Hope they burn in hell, these monsters.

(Where's Ironman when you need him the most)

Why guys twist things? It was 10 sex rapers who did and it is not in the name of Islam. They did it for self satisfaction. In fact, Islam was the religion which abolished killing femal infants, bad sexial attitude towards female etc... Please don't mix action of people with religion. You can't even find a verse telling to rape a woman in Qur'an.

well also if islam isn't telling them to do it, it still "allows" them to do it and they still do it IN THE NAME of that religion. And expain me: Why is ISLAM ALLOWING child marriages? Look @ yemen, saudi arabia and the other islamic countries. And explain why authorities had nearly never taken any action against married girl's families or husbands?? I don't wanna know the number of unknown cases... but i am sure there are thousands of similar cases in the islamic world. And yes, its a huge difference if somebody rapes a child, and is officially declared as a pedophillic raper and gets into jail (europe/US/western counties) or if the law (sharia) simply allows you to "rape"(marry) underaged children with the religion (ISLAM) being a principle of law.

9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: hashra.com asic scrypt.... scam? on: April 15, 2015, 09:02:51 AM
Anyone surprised by this?

To be completely honest, no it doesn't surprise me at all.

Have you ever ordered anything straight from China?  I'm not saying, bought anything from from a store in (your home country) that was fabbed in China.  I'm saying have you had anything that is custom made in china, strictly for you.

I have, stuff for my fuel injection performance shop.  The failure rate is extremely high on anything that isn't tested before it leaves the factory, and still too high for stuff that does pass the scam they call inspection/testing..  It almost put my shop out of business before I gave up and started having my stuff fabbed locally at about 8x the cost.

If you ain't apple, and driving people to jump off the building to commit suicide in order to get good parts, you do not get them.

ordering from china is a pain in the a**. well in the most cases and espescially when you re getting stuff manufactured there... from my point of view the most legit and reliable chinese vendors/manufacturers for mining-HW have been bitmaintech and gridseed (esp. their resellers). and i totally agree to your statement,..  so i wouldn't trust any european/us resellers which can't proof inventory with mining-HW or claiming your hardware is being shipped from china...
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ROOTCOIN [ROOT] - new official thread on: April 05, 2015, 11:27:26 AM
So what is being developed now? I am a bit confused? I assume BitKey technology is lost, and you dont work on it anymore ? Is there any post with all features you are currently working on ?

hey Uran0s,
no we haven't created a summary of all recent and ongoing developments. But we ll do that soon. Bitkey isn't lost, and thats the reason why we contracted an external dev. he s currently within an important update for their own project (a 2nd gen coin).. but assured me to confirm his support for the ROOT-development. So he s basically going to do minor implementations and also adding a new feature for the time bitkey is beeing developed by the root core-team. So currently we (core-team) are working on bitkey + own root-based exchange. The extern dev is going to improve network, temporary anon-payment solution and develop us an platform independent online wallet for iOS.
thanks!
bitsta

anything happening?

hi Primitive, yeah its happening a lot behind the curtain. Couple of improvements, upgrade for mobile solutions and we contracted an extern dev for some features as we re totally loaded with work. confirmations and more detailed infos will be posted soon in this thread.

what about root coin...? I want details about Root Please... Smiley
hi TrackCoin,

please PM your e-mail to r00tcoinDEV (OP of this thread) and we ll invite you to our root.slack (chat based communication system). it s a lot easier to explain you the current situation as well as what happened the last months and what we were working on. and also have a look on the old root-thread so you ll see positive as well as negative inputs from the community. We missed (fu***)couple of deadlines, but always were here and secured our network and infrastructure. We ve got a very small, but unique, supportive and loyal community/team with skilled devs and marketers. Once main-features of ROOT are released, this thing is going to booom.

thanks for the interest!

11  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Directory.io - Now with balances! on: April 02, 2015, 11:23:19 PM
Hello,

I made a clone of Directory.io but I added the ability to show the balance of the addresses when CORS is enabled in Chrome;

http://btcdirectory.azurewebsites.net/

I think it would have been more fun if it were done without CORS, i.e. if balances were available just beside the addresses. Though I am not sure if that's technically possible.

shouldn't be a big deal as the privkeys are generated based on the pagenumber. means the public keys get generated afterwards and you just would ve to add a line to each addr which loads the balance for example from the blockchain.info API..
12  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Directory.io - Now with balances! on: April 02, 2015, 10:18:56 PM
Hello,

I made a clone of Directory.io but I added the ability to show the balance of the addresses when CORS is enabled in Chrome;

http://btcdirectory.azurewebsites.net/

To enable CORS in Chrome I use this extension:
https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/allow-control-allow-origi/nlfbmbojpeacfghkpbjhddihlkkiljbi?utm_source=chrome-app-launcher-info-dialog

This is purely for fun, your odds shouldn't even be called odds.

But just in case you happen to stumble on an address with a balance, DON'T STEAL.

Nice/interesting tool. just wonder how many people ll sit infront of it and click through the pages to "search" for loaded keys... xD
regarding the avg. IQ i think there re a lot of these.. add some ads to it, you ll end up with millions of ad-revenue... (hopefully)
cheers!
13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ROOTCOIN [ROOT] - new official thread on: March 30, 2015, 01:32:09 PM
Short update. We ve contracted a very skilled DEV to help us improve our codebase and boost up things.
He already agreed to help us and confirmed/accepted the offer i ve made him. He ll introduce himself during the next days in this thread. Here s some of the things he s going to do for ROOT:

#improve network stability (more details will be provided by him)
#implement an anonymous payment system (RootStealth) into ROOT for the time our complex framework is beeing developed.
#develop an iOS compatible online-wallet

If you have any questions just drop me a message or post it in here.

cheers!

Dear Community,

we are glad to announce that we re close to reaching the beta-release.
the two core-developers, including me, have been working on development mostly,
and did not focus on marketing-related aspects or fancy pre-releases. We are
currently in contact with marketers and promoters and will contract them
shortly before the beta-launch.

This is also the main-reason you haven't heard a lot from us.
After what happened the last times we simply didn't want to post too much,
without beeing able to release proper material.

The goal is not fully reached yet, but we want to let the supporters and users know,
that we are working on this project and that we re doing a lot of tests at the moment.
If anybody of you is interested in joining our alpha-test, just drop us a PM or
visit our slack for more informations.

We also would like to announce the release candidate of our
new ROOT 3.0 wallet. We have added two new minor features two the wallet
will announce this release seperately with the milestones during this weekend.

thank you,
bitsta

ROOT is bleeding like always, it is just a show. Again at risk to get delisted from Bittrex. This doesn't happen to coins with a good team

@cryptoman2014 - it s not a perfect team, and we defenitely have communication issues,
which the project-leaders will be focusing on after the successfull beta-launch.
I ve tried a lot, and even had two previous community-managers but i guess they
just are not serious enough about their intentions in this project. A team, consisting
of developers only is not as good as a team with serious marketers and PR-guys. We
know that and will do something regarding it in the near future. For now we are focusing on development only.

thanks

Hey!

Are you looking for a multipool?

Then head over to my thread for more info!
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=932225.0

PM me or reply on my thread, will NOT be looking here again.

This would be good Cheesy Bitsta what do you say?

yes great. we will use this service and link our gear to it.
and we ll use the ROOT burn-address for payouts. Smiley
16  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Joel's VanityGen GUI Release (SOURCE CODE) on: January 05, 2015, 10:16:37 AM
hi,

first of all, great to see selfmade coders.
and even greater to see you using your
skills for BTC-related techs.

regarding your "open-sourcing":
don't provide the source-code within an archive.
would you open an archive somebody unknown posted somewhere?? PLEASE DON'T.
it's very risky and you never know what really is inside the .zip, .rar, etc.

push your source-code to: https://www.github.com
create your repository which allows you proper chronological
listing of code-updates (commits) within a very
simple view and also giving other devs (contributors) the chance
to suggest code-improvisations/updates (pull requests) which
get implemented (merged) after reviewing/verifying the changes.
it's defenitely worth a try.

cheers!
bitsta

What's wrong with archives? lol. It's the files inside you should worry about.

lol. read my post again.

-snip-
are you running the daemon on a vps?

I have similar issues and I suspect its because I run it on a VPS.

yes correctly, thats why i was asking him.

@shorena: can you post something about the config you were using @VPS (OS, RAM, CPU, HDD).
just out of curiosity: did you have this issue on ubuntu?

Hi,

Sometimes bitcoind json rpc just gets stuck and don't respond to bitcoind getinfo calls.
When I see .bitcoin/debug I can see that bitcoind is still running and processing blocks correctly
