483  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A weird belief among some gamblers. on: September 13, 2023, 10:12:49 AM
So why this belief or do you think it could be true? Or is it one of those superstitious belief among gamblers?
Do you feel cool sharing your predictions with other people and how has the outcome been looking at all the times you have shared your predictions with others?

Gamblers have all sorts of superstitions. And worse they refuse to agree that it is a superstition when it is pointed out to them or even change it. They are the incorrigible sets of persons on the planet. Show them a glaring evidence or try to persuade them to change their view point and they'll immediately pick an offense.

Telling someone what you staked and them making the same bet isn't going to change the outcome. It is just like me betting that we'd there is going to be a storm and someone else placed the same bet as I did on the weather. This isn't going to change the outcome of what the weather would be...that it why it is a prediction.

That's need also needs to be proven. Pogba's second sample will be tested again. He can hope this test will be negative to secure his position right now. Pogba's case reminded me of jose luis palomino's case from atalanta. That guy has been accused by used doping but the court was lifting his band caused by it's only unintentional accident. Even though palomino has been banned for 4 months from serie a after he has proven positive dopping. Pogba's case will be very similar to the palomino's case.
Let's awaiting the result from the second sample by him. We will see the result as soon as possible. It will be so bad if he will be banned for 4 years.
I have never seen a football player fall so slow yet so fast as Paul Pogba. This is just bad luck for him.

He had the potential to be one of the best in the ranks of Messi, Neymar, Mbappe but has just had a very stagnant football career. As fan, I watched him shine on the pitch but now he is a shadow of himself.

Injuries, poor form, disciplinary actions, and now this - doping scandal? This is the end of the line for him in football. He should retire honorably and pick another career.
485  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Has your Responsible Gambling had any of these Effects on You? on: September 13, 2023, 09:32:00 AM
I will agree with you that it is the poor gamblers that are seen as irresponsible gamblers because they dont have any funds to fall back at when they run at big loss. You will see them looking for someone to fet a loan from to satisfy their gambling urge and to also chase their losses. When it comes to addiction and self-discipline these applies to both a poor and a rich gambler because if you are an addicted gambler, you will end up in excessive loss that will affect your financial bouyance. Set a time limit for your gambling activities and stop when it is time to stop, and only game with funds that you cam afford to lose,so that you don't start chasing your losses.

Your statement that poor gamblers are seen as irresponsible gamblers is not entirely true. By the way, what is your definition of a poor gambler?
Those who gamble irresponsibly are from all walks of life and are in all strata of the economic ladder.

A typical example of an irresponsible gambler is Drake. He's rich, a successful musical artist but we can all agree that he gambles irresponsibly. Never have we heard that he loaned money to satisfy his gambling urge but we have seen go on a betting spree despite losing a lot of money. I consider it irresponsible gambling.

487  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Behaviours of gamblers you dislike. on: September 12, 2023, 05:51:27 AM
A gambler behavior that I don't like is the one who is loquacious and the other on that is extremely withdrawn. These two behaviors are either a manifestation of depression and anxiety. I don't like.

A loquacious gambler at the poker table would cal bluffs so much and annoy everyone on the table. Nobody wants to play with this type of gambler because they'll distract and interrupt your train of thoughts while the game is on. The one who is extremely withdrawn is most likely to rationalize chasing after losses. They internalized their losses, and conclude that the best way for them to be happy would be to bet again. These behavior would make them fall into problem gambling.
488  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling by financial dependents. on: September 12, 2023, 05:04:18 AM
I spoke to my nephew and he told me that he has never stolen from his mother to gamble. And he gambles with only his savings from his weekly stipend he receives from the family. And he won't gamble if he has no savings to do that. From my observation, he is a responsible gambler that is just enjoying the game and making a little money occasionally. The gambling age in my country is 18+, but his mother is insisting that he must stop. What will be your advice for this young boy?
Your nephew's mom should be able to have an opened and honest conversation with her son. It should be a heart to heart conversation where the son his sincere about his gambling and the mother is opened about her expectations from him.

Sons always loves and listens to their mother. This is the time for her to be very involved. If she is able to create a space where he can freely talk about anything with her then she has nothing to worry about because right there she has proven to him that he can turn to her for support in case he begins to struggle with gambling.
489  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: September 11, 2023, 09:56:34 PM
Yep. The reason why Real Madrid didn't sign a top striker until now, it is probably because Real Madrid is focusing on signing Mbappe. They prepared the number 9 for Mbappe, that's why Joselu only wears number 14.

If Mbappe extends his contract with PSG, I doubt Mbappe will join Real Madrid. Now, it depends on Mbappe's decision. If he really wants to join Real Madrid, he will wait for his contract to expire and never extends it.

From Mbappe's response first his mind is made up. He will not extend his contract and he will leave PSG. I think that he has fallen out of love with the club. Maybe if Messi and Neymar were still in the team, that would have served as some persuasion for him to extend his contract but with the look of things he is going to leave.

Real Madrid will eventually get him. Are prepared and ready to receive him whenever he wants of course within the time stipulated for it.
490  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: September 11, 2023, 09:44:51 PM
Odds @ 1.69 I think is a good choice for betting with a fairly large chance of winning.
Napoli definitely wants to bounce back after losing to Lazio in the last match and if we look at the overall strength of these two teams then Napoli is quite superior. I think the factor of playing home or away will not have a big influence on a team like Napoli.
That's right. The odds is fair but we must take caution. Almost the same odds they had in their last Match against Lazio.
I do not think that it will be an easy game for Napoli, even though they will try to bounce back from their defeat, their opponents will take the motivation for them to play their best in their match. Afterall, if Lazio can beat Napoli, they can.
Despite the odds, this match would end in a draw. This is my prediction.
491  Economy / Economics / Re: Save your environmental economic cycle on: September 10, 2023, 04:44:33 PM
If you are a person who has money to shop for daily needs, I suggest you buy from merchants around you instead of shopping online whose stores are far from your place. This must be done to turn the wheels of the economy in your neighbourhood and save them from bankruptcy, at least you give them space to live.

I have considered this but when I think about it critical what comes to mind is that these local merchants have to find  a way to get themselves online. The advantage here is that they will eventually be able to service more people outside of their locality which would increase their revenue streams for them to be able to stay in business.

What we should know is that the world we are living in has made many people lazy. They'll prefer to stay indoors and order everything online. It's not intentional that they don't want to buy from the local shop it's just what technology has turned it out to be.

There are no fixed rules for success, but there are fixed rules for failure, or things that if you do, your money will be lost or your investments will collapse.
Therefore, there is no fixed recipe for success and wealth. You must be creative and love what you do.
You are correct that there are no fixed rules for success and that one must be creative and love what they do but may I remind you that there are business and wealth principles that must be followed for success and wealth creation? Yes, there are...just as there are principles engineers must follow to build an airplane that will fly in the air and crash upon flight or ship to sail without sinking, so it is with wealth creation.

Like you said, there are no fixed rules but there are classic wealth rules that must obeyed. Some of which I highlighted in the post already.
493  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: DCA'ing isnt a bad strategy on: September 10, 2023, 04:16:34 PM
What is your opinion?
And and which method do you prefer to be used in this present market conditions?

I use both strategies. There's no rule in the community that say you cannot use the both of them. It is a matter of convenience.

I dollar cost average monthly and have been doing this and tracking it in an excel spreadsheet since the beginning of 2022.

I also invest lump sums  when I offer some services and the client pays in bitcoin. It is not regular.

The goal is not to make profit but to stack as much as possible until I reach my goal and also for the halving happening next year.
494  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Owner of 8K bitcoin lost in landfill threatens to bankrupt local council on: September 10, 2023, 04:10:21 PM
https://protos.com/owner-of-8k-bitcoin-lost-in-landfill-threatens-to-bankrupt-local-council/

I think him lashing out at the city council and threatening to sue them doesn't make bitcoin look good. wherever his hard drive is, if it's in that trash dump i don't see how even a data recovery expert could get anything off of it. it's probably been crushed, cracked, corroded, etc. lost cause. his big mistake was throwing it away in the first place but that was his fault no one elses. he lost those bitcoin a long time ago. and they're not coming back.  Shocked

He should give up and admit "defeat". Regret is a difficult thing to live with, but he should just accept that he made a mistake, and nobody is above mistake. If he needs therapy to deal with then he should see a licensed therapist to help me through the process.  But making bitcoin look bad is something that the community will not accept at all.

It is even possible that if he had put in this much effort that he had put in in looking for the drive, into accumulating bitcoin through other means he probably would have gotten the 8k bitcoin. He must deal with himself and not with the local council.

496  Economy / Economics / Re: Are you risking investment in other things? on: September 09, 2023, 11:49:09 PM
There is a halving coming next year to which many people who know and have bitcoins have set a target of the amount they hope to have in their holding by the time the bull run begins. I like to know if with this knowledge of bitcoin halving coming, if anyone is investing in anything other than bitcoins. I do not mean alt-coin but things like Real Estate, stocks, bonds etc. I know that Real Estate is good to invest in, but asides real estate, what else are you risking the money you should to invest more in bitcoins on?
Agriculture. That's where I am risking the money I should invest in Bitcoin. Having a balanced portfolio matters more to me than anything else and I stick to it very well

Bitcoin cannot and shouldn't be the only investment that will earn me money there should be others. The famous saying that do not put all your eggs in one basket is more than just a saying but a business principle that should be applied also in investment.
497  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why is KYC mandatory in CEX? on: September 09, 2023, 11:34:35 PM
Privacy is important when it comes to Cryptocurrency, so why do exchanges like Bitget require KYC (Know Your Customer) for all users, even those who only want to get airdrops? I thought KYC should be for those transacting many Bitcoins, Is it really necessary for everyone?
For most centralized exchanges, KYC is mandatory for several reasons ranging from keeping the customer from engaging in fraudulent activities with their accounts to ensuring customers credibility. However my qualms with these Centralized exchanges is that they are honest with the customers. Being that our personal information which we submitted to them are not well secured. They may even go as far as selling off these data to a third party for profit.  Our KYC documents is not as private as they have us think it is. And fruads are still being committed.
498  Economy / Economics / Teaching My Nephews About Wealth Through the Game of Monopoly on: September 09, 2023, 11:26:46 PM
I am thinking about teaching my nephews about wealth in a fun way through the game of Monopoly. I haven't gotten any better way to teach them about money and wealth aside this. I think so because of the lessons embedded in the game which includes,

(a) to build wealth, you need to own assets an not liabilities

(b) to build wealth, never put all your eggs in one basket. Always diversify your investment portfolio.

(c) to build wealth, you must  have proper and strong financial management strategies. Anyone who wants to be wealthy must learn how to manage their money, make the right investment and be able to pay off their debts.

(d) to build wealth you should be able to think strategically. Having a long term thinking in mind will enable you to make better decisions.

(f) to build wealth, you must have a well thought out risk management strategy in place.

(g) to build wealth, you cannot overlook the role that patience plays. Wealthy people are very patient people. They know when to make a move and when to hold on. They they understand that true wealth isn't built overnight but through years of hardwork.

These are some of the financial and wealth lessons that I think that my nephews can learn from playing the game of Monopoly. I am opened to your recommendations for other types of games that can be a great alternative or addition to this game as a fun way to teach kids about wealth.
499  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: The Path to Profit: A Trader's Emotion & Terminologies Everyone should Know on: September 09, 2023, 10:49:46 PM
Appreciate the effort you have poured into compiling these terms but not to sound discouraging , what I have noticed is that we pick up these terms on the go and not all at once before trading. It during the process of trading and researching that we pick them up.

Despite this, knowing what a trading strategy is and having one is best for every trader. In addition, knowing what fundamental or technical analysis is and how to apply them to make a trading decision is encouraged. Knowledge of the what trading platform to use is is also key to the path to profit for everyone trading.
500  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Which is more profiting self trade or AI on: September 09, 2023, 10:32:14 PM
Self trade is better than AI trade. Just as formula 1 race care driver wouldn't want to let To drive for him or her , I think that so it is with trading. I am not saying that there have not been any wins made by trading bots. I acknowledge that but I am saying is that do not give 100% control to some trading bots.

If I ever want to use trading bots, it will be because I want to test its efficiency on the trading platform. Apart from this , my thoughts is to self trader 99% of the time.
