401  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: CoinTerra announces its first ASIC - Hash-Rate greater than 500 GH/s on: April 15, 2014, 02:05:59 PM
Because they need the time to mine more coins and convert to fiat.

rofl!
402  Economy / Speculation / Re: Survey time! Was 340 the final bottom? on: April 11, 2014, 05:39:03 PM
Anything in $3xx is a great deal to pick up those coins...its bottomed out nicely and expect a run up sooner or later. Now is the time to buy back in!
403  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bottomed out? on: April 11, 2014, 04:34:16 PM
Its actually bottomed out nicely. Anywhere in $3xx would be a good time to get on board.
404  Economy / Speculation / Re: On April 15, Bitcoin will go to the moon. on: April 09, 2014, 08:59:43 PM
The price going down shows: GAME OVER MAN! GAME OVER!!

The jig is up and the pump and dump peeps are out of the game~

Bitcoin will come down gently as rats jump off the sinking ship~

405  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: CoinTerra announces its first ASIC - Hash-Rate greater than 500 GH/s on: April 05, 2014, 03:39:48 AM

OMG, that's nice to hear that they did refund the money~ With the crappy hashrate and low price of Bitcoins, its going to be refund central at CT!

ok, im going to argue with you on one point.  how, do you argue that its a crappy hashrate?  can you buy better in the same timeframe?  better not just in terms of delivery date, but also in density.  Sure, you can have 9 or 10 antminers that achieve the same hashrate but they consume a lot more power and space, and will cost more to run.  they may be cheaper now, but at the time they were more expensive too.

ive now taken delivery of quite a few cointerra systems since they started shipping (tens of systems).  i havnt been able to buy better.   even if their hashrate was 20% down on what it was sposed to be, its still quite a bit less expensive than the other options i had available to me at the time.  i paid a lot more for my hashfast gear and much much more for my kncminer gear.   and even now, pre-ordering a knc neptune with an unknown delivery date still costs more in $/gh than buying a cointerra today that has reliable and predictable delivery dates (right now theyve caught up their backlog and are delivering on the month theyre sposed to for each batch).  their latest release oif a few days ago confirms theyre already powering 10% of the bitcoin networks, which if you do the math means theyve shipped thousands of the boxes to achieve that %.

cant argue with the low price of bitcoins argument and right now ive been buying bitcoins but thats not a cointerra specific issue, thats simply a 'do i buy bitcoins or mine them' issue... but if you choose to mine, i think its hard to find any 'currently shipping' options that are a better option.  and yes, im somewhat biassed.  but also, since i own a bunch of kncminer, and a lot of hashfast gear, and even more of cointerra gear... ive at least some 1st hand knowledge of the options on the table.

It is crappy because I paid for 2THs machine and received 1.6THs. It does not matter what time frame it took or if any other products are available etc. I did not get what I paid for and that's why I call it crappy.

I don't care what percentage of Bitcoin network CT miners run because it means nothing to me and my money.

At the end of the day, I am short 20% and that whole 20% is supposed to be my income for the amount and efforts invested.
406  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: CoinTerra announces its first ASIC - Hash-Rate greater than 500 GH/s on: April 04, 2014, 02:08:41 AM
Did anybody actually get a refund?  I've been reading horror stories about it taking over a month for a refund and with the news that the April batch isn't going to hit 2Thash it makes no sense to keep my order (there's cheaper hardware out there and the price of BTC keeps dropping so I'm not sure I can ever ROI with this batch).

I bought 3 units but decided to ask for a refund as soon as the performance specs came out.  It took 30 days (which they stated was the limit at the beginning).  To their credit, they did come through

407  Economy / Speculation / Re: BREAKING NEWS: Bobby Lee Confirms Bitcoin China Ban, It's finally Happened on: April 02, 2014, 04:11:13 AM
Most of the people still donīt get it. Itīs not about the news that will push the market downwards, itīs about the chinese money that will leave n goes into effect can the market in a few days.

I do not get this. Are there exchange controls that prevent how much money one can bring into China? Otherwise someone holding BTC in China after the "ban" goes into effect can sell the BTC abroad and then repatriate the funds.

Most countries that have exchange controls aim to prevent funds in the form of local currency from leaving the country not the other way around.

Try China homie and you will get to know the real meaning of CONTROL! Even bringing in money is not as easy as you think...
408  Economy / Speculation / Re: BREAKING NEWS: Bobby Lee Confirms Bitcoin China Ban, It's finally Happened on: April 02, 2014, 04:08:36 AM
I saw a few postings about this article (on reddit and coindesk).
What do you think will result from this and will anything significant happend april 15th
Also, will price go up from here or stay similar?

WE WILL GO DOWN! millions of dollars are leavin the market. no fresh chinese money comin in.~4000 new coins are mined everyday and have to be bought.

There is only one way.
DOWN

Second that~ Game over man, game over!  The gig is up....each to their own, better get out while you can~
409  Economy / Speculation / Re: China BANNED BITCOIN! This time for real! on: April 01, 2014, 03:11:33 AM
No one is using Bitcoin, get that straight into your heads...its hard to use and people are getting jacked...ooops sorry I meant 'hacked' left and right. At the end of the day, its inconvenient to use Bitcoin in daily life so its pump and dump!!

Happy HODLING to everyone!! :-)

Can you cross post a link to where your question was answered?

There are some details in the original Eligius thread...a bit hard to understand but loads of info to trove through...

414  Economy / Speculation / Re: China buying up Bitcoins! on: March 30, 2014, 05:45:03 PM
So those Chinese could pretty much be selling each other...ooops I mean those Chinese could be selling Bitcoins to each other and not buying up Bitcoins from the rest of the world...
415  Economy / Speculation / China buying up Bitcoins! on: March 30, 2014, 05:29:24 PM
Can someone please explain WTF is going on here: http://fiatleak.com/

I really really hope Bitcoin gets banned completely in China. Otherwise, sooner or later the Chinese will squirrel away all the Bitcoins and save them under their mattress.
416  Economy / Speculation / Re: China BANNED BITCOIN! This time for real! on: March 30, 2014, 05:16:47 PM
If the Chinese government doesn't like something you know two things:

1) Its good for the people in general
2) It jeopardizes their position of power.

This is why I believe in Bitcoin. If the PRBC hates something, I personally love it. My morals dictate that I have to.

Giggidy!

For some reason the side Namecoin mining appears to have stopped about a month or so ago...has merged Namecoin mining been disabled?

Hi,

One of my machines mining is giving low shares rewarded percentage and I am wondering what is up with that and if there is anything i can do about it.

You could take a look here: http://eligius.st/~wizkid057/newstats/userstats.php/1LPhd9ekCKqYZoeQrstbTtBWAZq1X5C9fK

My other machines have close to 100% shares rewarded so I appreciate anyone's feedback as to what is up and how I can explain this to my little brain~  Huh

Thank you very much your help!

Nothing to do with your hardware, pool luck is down for the past few days thats all.  Over time with constant mining everyone should be in the upper 90s.  It takes a while to average out though, especially if you start mining during an unlucky spot.

Ah, I got it...that makes sense and its true this box got started about 10 days ago while the others have been running for many months. Hope lucky times get back soon~
