1  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who is Behind The Conspiracy to attack Bitcoin ? on: February 02, 2018, 01:41:59 AM
But there is also alot of real news also. I agree though that people are overreacting now and that every bad news create a new panic. This however doesn't look like normal dips we have seen in the past, it looks like big forces are manipulating the market again.
2  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is this the end of crypto? on: February 02, 2018, 01:30:23 AM
I disagree. We have seen worse dips in the past, that is true, and if it was just one dip I would agree with your post. But the market has been having those dips one after the other for quite some time now. You can't compare the situation now to the past as so many things are different now. There are several things that are going on for quite some time now (most of them are related to countries how try to manipulate the market or regulate it) that causes bitcoin to bleed hard. Also you have to consider that last year was crazy for bitcoin, especially the end of the year, and now the market corrects himself. I still think there is a good change BCT will reach ATH again by the end of the year, but I wouldn't say that with complete certainty like you do.

4  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you keep buying? on: January 26, 2018, 01:46:12 PM
I don't do all those 3 things.
First, never actually buy Bitcoin with fiat money because I just don't have that much money. Second, I rarely do a trade with altcoin. And third, I'm not just hodling what I have because I always spend my Bitcoin to buy what I need. I know this seems stupid to spend all my Bitcoin instead of hodling it, but believe me this is what we need to do to maintain the system.
Hi bro, i am intrigue with what you say "this is what we need to do to maintain the system". If you don't mind me asking, what system are you referring to?
Sorry for asking. Smiley

I think he means that it's better for Bitcoin if more people buy it to actually use it and not just for speculation. Right now 99.99% of Bitcoin holders bought in only to sell it for a profit. This is bad because the demand increases only if new people are buying in. Of course There is a very long road until there will not be enough people that get into the market (only about .01% actually hold Bitcoin) but the more the coin grows the harder it becomes to grow further. So unless we see some real usage for Bitcoin some day this will be a very big problem.
5  Other / Off-topic / Re: What age to teach kids about crypto? on: January 26, 2018, 02:40:57 AM
Why do children need to be taught crypto? It's like teaching kids stock market or poker... If a kind finds it interesting that's great and he can find everything about it online (which is a better source of information than almost any teacher that will 'teach' him about crypto), if not, that's also good. I really see no point in teaching kids who are not interested in this.
6  Other / Meta / Re: Negativity of the Merit system on: January 26, 2018, 02:22:39 AM
Its way negative to those who are on lower ranks like newbies and jr. members, they want to learn from bitcoin community yet they are demanded to quality postings to get merits. I think lower rank must have more sendable merits as they will give it to most useful post they read. Farming merits ? when that time comes sell merits in high price because it is your digital dignity and respect.

People are not demanded to post high quality posts, nobody is preventing anyone to post stupid posts (as long as it's not a pure spam). However, if one wants to go up in ranks, he would have to actually contribute to the community by posting good and constructive posts. That's the whole point of the system, it is supposed to be some kind of indication of the user's quality.
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Can ETH make everyone poor? ETH price at $300 again soon? ETH bubble popping? on: January 26, 2018, 02:14:40 AM
If you think ETH is overpriced then all other alts are also overpriced. ETH is by far the most important alt since all ICO's are built on it. Don't really sure why you think it's overpriced, price went up like all other coins in last years run.
8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Hidden Gems For 100x 2018 on: January 26, 2018, 02:10:42 AM
Don't really understand why Elixir is so hyped...

A pretty good rule of thumb, if 4-5 people (especially newbies) shill a coin it's probably something you should avoid.
9  Economy / Speculation / Re: bitcoin $20k mark on: January 26, 2018, 02:01:10 AM
If you look on the price charts it took a few months in the best case, and almost a year in the worst case for the price to return to ATH after the big price drops in the past. The drop happened only a month or so ago so I don't think we will see large price increase in the new future.
10  Other / Meta / Re: Seriously bitcointalk, why this merit point system ??? on: January 26, 2018, 01:55:25 AM
This is totally unfair for those account who are below hero member ranks, and I totally agree with you that this new ranking system will surely slow the promotion for a higher rank. Hero and Legendary members are the one who will benefit as they can now join bounties hassle free.especially to those account that has the power to rule entire FORUM.
It's unfair to those accounts who honestly giving their best to post with quality and with content, just to support their family.
I am also after with those signature campaigns but that is only my 3 reason why I joined BCT.
I hope there will be some changes regarding this.

But you do understand that bounty campaigns are NOT the reason this forums exists? It could have been great if there were no spammers around and people just posted constructive and meaningful posts and also join bounties to get some extra cash. But unfortunately things didn't quite went in this direction and instead the forum suffered from a huge amount of spammers. Yes it makes life harder for newcomers if they want to participate in bounties, but if you keep posting good quality posts you'll get your merits.
11  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Finally Bitcoin is becoming normal on: January 26, 2018, 12:56:11 AM
Yeah, bitcoin price is now stable but with still a few downs, I hope bitcoin price will be more stable in the coming days and also hoping it will recover its ath price before. Patience is really a virtue, so we really need to wait for the btc to rise again.

The problem the price is obviously strictly related to the fees and confirmation times. If the prices goes up, everybody wants a part of the profits and buys in. That causes an even greater demand and an even higher price. At this point, the load on the network increases dramatically which causes both longer confirmation times and higher fees. This continues until the network is overloaded and then the only transactions will be of new people buying in. Of course at this point, the slightest price drop becomes a big fall as people stop buying in and the trading volume decrease drastically. That's why a very sharp bull run like last year's is bad in the long run. It's better if the price increases more slowly without creating too much pressure on the network.
Of course this will probably never be the case as the big whales interests are different from the rest of the community but that's another disscusion.
12  Other / Meta / Re: Merit - A definition of, Rich people maintain Rich, POOR people will be POOR on: January 25, 2018, 10:27:38 PM
The bitsend airdrop is just an example, for saying all the profit will belong to LEGENDARY.
And no one say about benefit of the campaigns, we are discussing about the unfair system score.
Do you read all member posted here?
And I said once, and I ask you again, Are you sure after this system come out, spam post won't appear?
Talking is our right and why it must be scored?
We are talking our own idea, opinion, thought. So you mean if someone has their own idea but not really help for answering your topic, they don't have right to say?

If the benefits of the campaigns do not matter then why does the merit system bother you? Yeah that's right, because that's all you see in front your eyes. I know this concept might be hard to grasp but BCT was here way before bounty campaigns and this is not it's sole purpose. I know, bounties are nice, almost everybody has participated in one. In fact I am currently participating in one, and hey I'm a newbie. I still think this change was necessary.

If you think about it, new members who participate in bounty campaigns will actually benefit from this. Instead of sharing the rewards with hordes of spammers and people who have multiple accounts, they will be able to gain a larger portion of the rewards given they post meaningful posts.
Will all the spammers disappear? No probably not. Will people find ways to cheat the system? I guess so yes. Still, it makes the life of spammers way harder and will definitely remove alot of garbage from this forum. This system is not perfect, it has it's flaws like the one you mentioned. But if you look at the whole picture this change is for the best.

I hope as the time passes you will be able to see the good effects of this and change your mind. Even if not, take it easy, this is just a forum. And if your income has taken a big it, well, in crypto business you have to be prepared to take big hits. If you can't adapt, this is not the place for you.
13  Local / Altcoins (criptomonedas alternativas) / [ANN] ⭐ Snowgem ⭐ Equihash - No Premine - No ICO - Masternode on: January 25, 2018, 08:49:04 PM

I think that a computer wallet is more thab enough if you don't have very high amounts there. I have never used cool storage, it's too much of a hassle.

This week every coins are going down, maybe cause the korea problem
Could you explain what you mean? What aspect is the crucial one?

A couple of days ago South Korea announced it would ban cryptocurrency exchanges. Right now it's not clear if it'll really happen or not, but it had it's effect on the crypto market already...
20  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Worried about btc future on: January 12, 2018, 01:35:48 AM
Bitcoin is struggling now, yes that's true. Due to the extreme hype it gained last year, many countries will make regulations now. However, that isn't necessarily a bad thing. After regulations usually comes big institutional money, which might bring BTC to new heights. Also, there is the problem with the fees and the long confirmation times. I hope Segwit and LN will solve those issues as bitcoin won't be able to grow otherwise.
