161  Economy / Securities / Re: [BTC-TC] Nasty-PT 100 shares = 1 Nasty Fans seat on: September 23, 2013, 04:33:17 PM
After BTC-TC disaster I would like to transfer shares back to Nasty Fans seats. Is that possible?

This is one of the possible scenarios that I am evaluating.
162  Economy / Securities / Re: [BTC-TC] Nasty-PT 100 shares = 1 Nasty Fans seat on: September 23, 2013, 04:26:26 PM
As btct.co is closing down, what will happen with our NASTY-PT shares we / I bought there?
Any update about how the closure of BTCT will affect the PT's purchased there?

First... Do Not Panic.

Your Nasty-PT shares on btct.co are backed by Nasty Fans Seats which are not on btct.co. 100 shares still equals 1 Nasty Fans seat. The pass-through has (and always had) enough Nasty Fans Seats to back every Nasty-PT share. So there is no reason to panic and/or dump your shares.

There are a couple of options available, and I am evaluating them.

Nasty-PT will continue to operate normally until a decision has been made (all dividends paid according to the contract, etc.)
Again, there is no reason to panic; but I will leave the asset open to trading for those of you who wish to sell, or buy.

Thank you for your patience during this trying time.

Carnth runs that PT.  I have never used BTCT.co.  You can try to find more information on his thread for it here:

Thanks OgNasty.

164  Economy / Securities / Re: [BTC-TC and BF] MININGCO.ETF - Mining Company ETF on: September 23, 2013, 12:24:53 PM
BTCT Shutdown , what to do next for share holders stuck on btct because of Panic sell , how to transfer shares to Bitfunder Huh?

MiningCo.ETF is in a position to easily shift operations to Bitfunder. This will happen in an orderly fashion. But not at this exact moment.

The only thing that causes me concern is the panic sellers. There is no reason to panic. Burnside has always made it easy for asset issuers to maintain complete lists of all shareholders on btct.co.
These lists can easily be imported in to another exchange where the asset can continue on. MiningCo.ETF will be doing that.

I will also be in touch with our underlying assets that are also on btct.co (bASIC-MINIG, Cognitive, ASICMINER-PT). After I hear from them I will provide our options for moving forward.

Distribution 259076 is complete. We love Bitcoin!

Thanks.

And let's hope this week, variance swings our way.

A second bar has been added to the bullion inventory.

A Valcambi 5 gram in assay card.

Photo showing both bars:

.... I don't want to spend a lot of time managing the share price that would be better spent managing the direction of the company itself.

This is true. Create value in the company and the share price will follow. (Well, at least it should follow.)
168  Economy / Securities / Re: [BTC-TC and BF] MININGCO.ETF - Mining Company ETF on: September 18, 2013, 05:42:05 PM
Total dividends of 0.66172686 will be paid this week.

This is about 0.00026791 per share with an instant annual dividend yield of 20.07%

This week, our underlying assets continue to feel selling pressure.

This has caused the NAV per share to decrease to BTC0.0694

Future Outlook - My guess as to what's to come.

As the difficulty continues to rise, more and more miners are feeling the pressure of dwindling returns. If you don’t have a plan to increase your hash rate then you will be left behind.
This has been brought up in the bASIC-MINING thread. Smaller (recreational) miners are being pushed off the network because they can no longer afford to mine due to aging and in-efficient mining gear. New and more efficient mining equipment costs are astronomical; leaving only large mining companies (or the rich) available to purchase.

This is concerning because the economics of mining is forcing a certain "centralization," where only large groups with enormous hashing power are mining. This is discouraging because Bitcoin is supposed to be about decentralization.

ASICMINER had a good idea with releasing USB ASIC devices--smaller units for the recreational miner. However, its initial price didn't reflect a "recreational" value.

I ask that ASIC mining fabricating companies consider the small miner and produce mining equipment that is affordable and at a price point that makes sense.

Let’s keep Bitcoin decentralized.

MiningCo.ETF is available on BTCT.co and as a pass-through on BitFunder.
Shares can be transferred between BTCT.co and BitFunder. 10 share minimum. PM Carnth for details.
169  Economy / Securities / Re: [BTC-TC] Virtual Community Exchange w/ Options, DRIP, 2FA, API, CSV, etc. on: September 17, 2013, 04:22:15 PM
One more thing - I don't think this was possible previously, but now I can put more bids than how much BTC I have on my account as long as the bids are in for different securities.

It's a feature! Not a bug.

 Cheesy
170  Other / Archival / Re: btt on: September 16, 2013, 04:08:56 PM
That's correct. With the network crossing the 1,000Th mark last evening it should become increasingly obvious that mining equipment is overbought. The huge number of pre-orders expected to come online in the next few months will make it difficult for anyone to see a positive ROI at current prices.

<speculation>

At some point, something's got to give.  One of three things will happen:
  • People will stop mining because of the unprofitably.
This will cause the diff to either stop increasing or drop until an equilibrium is reached.
  • The price of BTC will increase.
  • Equipment will become cheaper yet.

Of course 1 and 2 are interrelated.
171  Economy / Securities / Re: [BTCT.CO] BTC-GOLD: 100 shares = 1 gram gold bullion on: September 16, 2013, 02:56:01 PM
"TRADING HAS BEEN HALTED ON BTC-GOLD BY THE ISSUER."

Could you share the reasons for this, please?

Please note the date of that announcement.

"TRADING HAS BEEN HALTED ON BTC-GOLD BY THE ISSUER." is a result of me finalizing the asset contract back in December 2012. This was done before the first share was sold.
The asset has been operating continuously since.

If you want to see another example, take a look at my MiningCo.ETF asset. Again, I changed the asset contract several times while finalizing it--all before the first share was sold. And again, it has been operation continuously since.

But how come other assets don't have "Trading has been halted....?"

btct.co has undergone some changes since these early assets were released. Now, the exchange doesn't post a "Trading Halted" event when you change the asset contract before the first share is sold. (See my newer NASTY-PT asset.)

I have a newbie question about how btc-tc works. I wonder if there is a special form to purchase shares during IPO phase or I just have to place buy order as usual.

I am confused, because there are buy orders for TAT.NEOBEE already, while its IPO is set to start next Friday. What does this mean? Can I place my buy order at IPO price right now? Will it be binding?

Thanks in advance

You can purchase IPO shares just like normal shares. Just place your bid as usual. You can cancel your bid at anytime before it is filled with no penalty.

Total dividends of 0.67381118 will be paid this week.

Future Outlook - My guess as to what's to come.

While we continue to wait for next gen ASIC gear, our dividends continue to wane.
There has been a lot of controversy over at LABCOIN. They claim to be hashing, but no proof can be found.
This is the problem with new mining companies, its difficult to tell who is doing what they promised and who is blowing hot air.

P.S. Didn't you say, you won't care about hashrates and bitcoins and stuff on your birthday?  Grin

I lied? Wink

I told you it couldn't be done.  Grin

Happy birthday. Enjoy your mojitos.

For fun, click page 75 and read first post... then go back to page 77 and read first post. It's like I planned it that way.
175  Other / Archival / Re: btt on: September 06, 2013, 10:17:16 PM
Thanks man. Smiley

I bet a pitcheror 3 of mojitos it can be done.

Hmmm... maybe after a whole pitcher of mojitos.
176  Economy / Securities / Re: [BTC-TC] Nasty-PT 100 shares = 1 Nasty Fans seat on: September 06, 2013, 10:09:40 PM
In the interest of transparency, I have created a Google Docs (Drive) spreadsheet for the pass-through.

It lists the number of shares the fund has, all income and dividends paid, as well as management fees and donations back to Nasty Fans.
I even put a spiffy looking chart to the right.

Please Let me know what you think.
177  Other / Archival / Re: btt on: September 06, 2013, 10:08:01 PM
Thx! I'm gonna celebrate by forgetting about bitcoins, mining gear, fans, and exchange rates for a WHOLE day! Cheesy

It can't be done.

Happy Birthday.

When it comes to actually buying shares the page has terms I dont understand. I take it if I want to buy or sell shares then I enter the details in the Place buy order and Place sell order tabs. But what do the bid and ask tabs below it mean especially the Fill buttons I'm not sure what they are?

The Fill buttons pre-fill out the corresponding Buy and Sell sections.
If there is a line for someone selling (ASK) 5 at 2.... and you click the Fill button, your Buy window will fill in 5 at 2 for a total of 10. At which point you can click the Place Buy Order button if you wish.

It's OK to click the Fill buttons to see what they do (they won't process an order).

I'll expand on nonnakip's answer:

How does using the nasty mining p2pool work? Do the coins get sent to an address you specify

Yes, the coins get sent to an address you specify.

You mine at:
http://nastyfans.org:9332

Use <YOUR BTC payout address> as your username and "x" as you password. Example:

Username: 1NastyFRkeUTmMdbMmzggDVTQA6r3ibUoX
Pass: x

Warning: it's better to use a real wallet address. Do not use an address from exchanges, etc. P2Pool pays using "mined" transactions.
Additional Info: There is no account to setup, just start mining. To check your progress, click on the link above with your web browser and then click on "Graphs." Search for your BTC address to view current hash speed and payout rate.

can you have proceeds donated to your personal fan club account,

No.

does it include alt coin trades etc.?

No.

I can't remeber public shareholder vote due to bASIC-Mining's about it before 18 jule:

[UPD]: And public vote not protect minor shareholders.

Go to https://btct.co/security/BASIC-MINING

Click on the "Motions" tab. It currently is still the last motion (at the very top).

Quote
Motion to buy BFL Minirig with shares.
Shall bASIC-Mining issue 1625 new shares in exchange for an immediately available BFL Minirig?
