1  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Bitcoin Core 0.9.3 - Synchronizing with network ? on: January 16, 2015, 12:06:33 PM
Thats a estimate and isn't accurate it will go back further when you start up become it gains speed the longer its open.

How it is estimated ? Isn't it downloading a huge file of 20GB then it should be precise ?
Each time I re-open it it tells me that the database or something got corrupted.

Whats the exact message it gives? You might need to delete the bootstrap and start again.

The following message : "Error opening block database. Do you want to rebuild the block database now?"
Should I simply go and download this https://bitcoin.org/bin/blockchain/bootstrap.dat.torrent ?

Downloading the bootstrap will make it a lot faster its updated every month or so and it really does help speed it up.
2  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is it really THAT bad right now? on: January 16, 2015, 12:05:41 PM
Bitcoin is rising again now and I don't think it will be reaching $200 any time soon again.
3  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is the recent price crash related to the Ross Ulbricht-trial? on: January 16, 2015, 12:03:10 PM
I dont think it relates in any way llike the above user mentioned its probably due to russian announcing they are banning bitcoin again the recent hack and a number of other things.

Voted no on messi leaving without him barcelona would just be a normal team and I dont think the chairman and the board of directors would allow the manager to sell a player of his capabilities and age.
5  Other / Off-topic / Re: Are you spending your Bitcoin? on: January 16, 2015, 12:00:12 PM
If you aren't spending Bitcoin your not really helping it grow but relying on others if theres no one buying anything with bitcoin is becomes obsolete and more of a colllatable than anything else.

7  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who's brave/stupid enough to invest their life savings into Bitcoin? on: December 13, 2014, 12:06:41 PM
It would be rather stupid to invest  all of your money into bitcoin although doesn't mean it wont be a wise investment in the long run.
8  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Reasons why you’ll end up using Bitcoin eventually on: December 13, 2014, 12:04:31 PM
2015 won't be any different. at least that's what i think. is there any reason why it should be different?

Is there any reason why it should stay the same? I don't understand some of these predictions no one knows whats going to happen next year we might have some whales deciding to deposit even more money into Bitcoin or withdrawing.

13  Other / Off-topic / Re: How to protect from keyloggers? on: November 07, 2014, 06:25:10 AM
I have a question related to virus/key loggers and other 'dirty' software.

If I want to install Linux and I download it off the Ubuntu website...what if my windows computer is already infected? Will it affect the download of ubuntu? I'll be redownloading ubuntu soon & then burning it to a cd just wondering if I will be safe I plan on reinstall the bitcoin client as I've had trouble lately.

Dumb question  Roll Eyes

Sorry.

17  Other / Meta / Re: Who's the best Bitcoin moderator? (Moderator of the month) on: August 20, 2014, 04:06:35 PM
I don't think I can make a poll now that I've started this but everyone says their name and then I'll add them together who got the most votes. Hilariousandco has got 2 votes and no one else has got any.
18  Other / Meta / Who's the best Bitcoin moderator? (Moderator of the month) on: August 20, 2014, 03:53:57 PM
