1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] AEON 2nd gen cryptonote, anon, mobile-friendly, scalable, pruning on: January 10, 2017, 10:30:39 AM
Will the recent developments in XMR be transferred to aeon, like the GUI and RCT update? Is there a roadmap for 2017?
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Buyer Beware - MSI RX 470 Quality on: January 10, 2017, 08:56:36 AM
have a few rx 470 nitro, not too impressed with the quality. Big difference in temps between cards and 1 had dead fans on arrival.
3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero - A secure, private, untraceable cryptocurrency on: December 31, 2016, 05:04:14 PM

There's actually a more appropriate subforum called Pools (Altcoins).

I see.  I was hoping someone with experience mining Monero could provide a simple answer to my question so I came to the Monero forum.   My question is specific to Monero and Monero mining pools.  I assumed the best place to find people with Monero experience would be in the Monero thread.  Of course the "Pools" thread is about mining pools and some of the millions of posts in that thread are even about Monero mining.  I guess I'll try that thread in the hopes that someone following that threat can answer my Monero question.  Thanks.

Then again, I can mine and trade ZCash and ETH which are both more profitable right now than XMR.

There is a xmr mining thread in that sub forum: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=653467.940

itīs quite active so someone should be able to answer your questions.

I know that your hashrate can change quite alot depending on what pool you use. Never really found out why. I just changed pools until I found one that gave me about the right amount of hashes.
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's CryptoNote GPU Miner v9.6 on: December 16, 2016, 10:28:12 AM
does xmr mining draw more power then zec? Thinking about switching a rx 470 rig from zec to xmr.

It draws much less power than ETH mining.

But so does ZEC? Switched from ETH to ZEC for the lower power draw so I dont want the higher draw back by changing to XMR.

I have added an extra 4gig ram for a total of 8 on some of my rigs. Dont know why but it did increase the hashrate.

Freaks and Geeks is also a great show. Pity it was cancelled so soon into its life.

Freaks and Geeks is a great show, just finished re-watching it.   Smiley

Have about 10tb that I can dedicate to mining.
