@l8orre: So if i understand you right, you are the one that decides which coin belongs to the Top30 and which does not? I always thought the market will decide that, and the market seems to think XVG belongs there. But sorry if i was wrong with that. I just did not know, that you decide that...
You should realize, that your opinion is obviously not the opinion of the major part of cryptoinvestors... This should be reason enough for you to think about that opinion again, dont you think? What makes you believe, that your opinion is right and the one of the major part of cryptoinvestors is wrong? Most time, if the majority's opinion is different from the one of a few guys, the majority is right. Not always, but most time...
If you think XVG does not belong to the Top30, what do you think about bitcoin? What is bitcoin? Well, it is not even kind of decentralized, it is slow, it is an ecological disaster, and it is technological antiquated... Thats our number one! It's sink or swim! And if you dont like the way the cryptomarket is working, feel free to leave it... Noone will miss you...
hahaha .. exactly my point! you have misunderstood my argument, so let me explain: of course it is not me to decide about the value of XVG, it is the market - which goes to show how immature this market is, because XVG is broken software, and only reckless and immature fools will cling to that illusion that (after missing BTC and so many other successful boats that have sailed already in the cryptosphere) - they will be able to catch a ride with $XVG. which they won't, because $XVG is broken software. but you are right about one thing: it is indeed opinions we are talking about here, so if you don't care about mine, please don't bother on the other hand, saying that $XVG does not belong into the top30 is backed by the argument that having a shitty assed, broken piece of software does tarnish the reputation of crypto as a whole, because it will come down sooner or later, which I think is a pretty damn good argument. or what do you think about the fact that some entity seems to have arbitrary access counterfeit $XVG? and what does that mean for the value of $XVG? mind you, I do not have much skin in this game, $XVG is one of the last $hitcoins with much visibility -DogeCoin RaceCars, yay, those were the days in early 2014  and it won't seriously affect crypto - wicked outright ripoffs like Bitconnect and Onecoin and such were much worse, and they went away too- I am just here because I appreciate what guys like ocminer and CHIEF56 et al are doing Ok, beside the fact, that you did not answer even one of my questions, i could read in this post now, that you are senior software engineer, right? 99.99% of the cryptoinvestors have the opinion XVG is not broken software, but it is a reliable project worth to invest in it. You have another opinion... And again, maybe you should think again about that (most likely wrong) opinion. It is easy to say, my opinion is the only right opinion, and the whole market is immature, i am the only one who knows what's going on, without any proof of that. iquidus has alot of bugs. prohashing and other yiimp based explorers are far more accurate.
Just out of curiousity in case your statement here is indeed the case (and i have some doubts about it), but just in case. - So why is Verge using the most bugged explorer for its own currency? - What's the prupose of having an official explorer nobody can rely on? - What explorer do you use than while doing your own research/investigation if the official Verge Explorer can't be trusted due it's bugs? - Was the possibility that the explorer shows the correct value actually investigated or you just think it's a bug? - Any reference or example where this bug elsewhere happened and shows negative balance? And there is still no answer to a whole lot of valid questions, maybe you won't to take a look into them as well. P.S.: IF this guy here posting and offending people en mass here with lowest street language is really your moderator on the telegram channel and representing Verges views/spirit/interest, than you should think about what bad taste such behavour leaves associated with Verge. There is no private transaction or private ledger. Wraith is stealth addresses with Tor. All values are visible on the blockchain. Lol they backpedalled on the private ledger after advertising it so heavily because "it went against their values" or something like that. I'm gonna look for the post just for the lolz and compare it to what they were proposing for Wraith beforehand. It's still mentioned in their "blackpaper" 😂 Wait. What. They dont have private ledger? What was half year Wraith hype about then ? |

OHH, and it looks like the original attackers are successfully (I mean, you know, I am assuming here at this point) conducting their mining attack again. https://verge-blockchain.info/address/DT6njVVHhthnKtZAoDCx5Xug4G6xtLsDrPQuite a few blocks over the past few days. 142,853,089 total xvg stolen, essentially (assuming we can still trust the data on this block explorer). I don't see why anyone else doesn't see this happening. It's that hard to set up some alerts on data we have - known attacker addresses still filling to the brim with coins? Sorry, but it's over for Verge. [edit] for clarity, that is 142,853,089 xvg in one address of attacker wallet. Pretty sure there were hundreds, if not thousands more addresses posted by OCMiner verge-blockchain down now... |

Summary for this whole xvg shitshow from me is this:
The best thing we can do is start ignoring this shitcoin. All they have left is hate attention. They have no new tech, promised partnership of the century became just payment option for porn (lol) , they have been hacked twice eventhough they were alarmed after first hack and also adviced how to fix the bug in code.Lead dev lied many times about delivering roadmap features, some of them undelivered since June 2017, lead dev lied about spending donated millions $ from comunity on Ledger integration...etc etc.
Just let it die. Bad marketing is also marketing. So lets just ignore xvg and dont waste time on such shit to feed their grow by our hate.
Would be a great thing, if the haters could just ignore it. I always wonder, if there is nothing constructive you guys could do with all that time wasting spreading hate and FUD... We will see if it will die then. Except everything I stated as describing verge project are facts not FUD.And I rather not start talking about that Wraith thing... Good bye |

What is a Fork?
Someone takes the complete code of an existing Cryptocurrency and use it to make a new one.
So am i right when saying, first at all, XSH copied everything from XVG?
BTW, i am with you, XVG needs to be some change in there DEV-Team, otherwise they will get big problems in future.
But this "who-copied-from-whom"-game is a bit ridiculous for both, XVG and XSH...
Just my two cents...
They wont change anything. Sunerok already made millions $ by this copy pasting coding, false promising and direct lying. Why would he change it when people still buying it? In fact he doesnt give af about verge being hacked for millions $ now. He just smile on that. |

Since nothing really was done about the previous attacks (only a band-aid), the attackers now simply use two algos to fork the chain for their own use and are gaining millions:  Both algos, scrypt and lyra2re can be rented easily for a few bucks at nicehash, they simply send one block scrypt, after that a block lyra2re and so on and all with manipulated timestamps thus lowering diff to lowest possible mining several blocks per minute like this Well, it's perhaps my Dutch nature thinking this, but this hack ain't for the money. The value of the coin will sink quickly the longer this takes and the damage is huge, so the attacker will have millions of worthless coins soon and is going nowhere. So most of the Verge fan's are right saying that this probably is a act of hate in my opinion. Second, there are people around on the net who can make your life like hell. You don't want to be on their fan list and i guess Justin unfortunately is. @ocminer, it seems like you are a gifted person. Can you help Justin out to get this fixed the proper way then please and offer him some solutions in private perhaps? I wish Justen and the Verge team the best of luck next hours/days. Stop being so ignorant. Verge is being targeted because it has shitty coding and an incompetent developer. This hack is the result of the terrible job he did 'patching' the previous hack. This 👆 |

I wonder how this connection between Verge and Pornhub actually came to existence? Who did reach out to whom? Does anybody know anything?
It was mentioned by the Verge dev that pornhub/mindgeek contacted them ... if i remember right it was mentioned in an interview or statement he gave. If that is accurate then it would be big for me, it's one thing reaching out to hundreds or thouands of potential partners, but if Pornhub contacted Verge proactively you have to wonder what is going on behind the scenes. You would think that more established coins like Dash or Monero would be the 1st choice. "Hi, if you give us 5 millions $ we will accept your currency on pornhub" ... I think that I know how Dash or Monero devs would react  |
