Selling 2000xcp at 0.02. This is what I believe they are worth as a minimum and in a few weeks the price will reflect that. Obviously no ones going to buy them for that price today, but I'll keep re-posting my offer. They will get bought.
Yes, we should see that level easily reached once a GUI client is built and documentation is available around the product.

You don't want to do a BTCpay right before the order match is set to expire (especially in the future, when blocks are closer to being full).
Can this be foolproofed somehow before going mainstream? I'd hate to think of all the posts on the forums when people start losing BTC. Maybe the BTCpay operation can accept an order match number as an optional parameter and the escrow time extended if necessary for the amount of that specific order only, provided BTCpay is called before the offer expires. The number of blocks to extend would be based on what the protocol determines is reasonable at the time or could be hardcoded initially. This will come with the GUI/online client. Btcpay right now is not at all user friendly, (neither is order matching), but remember this is alpha quality software. Bitcoin wasn't built in a day (or for that matter, a year). I encourage people to sign up for reddit (if you haven't already) and try to answer outstanding questions in the reddit thread: http://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/1wtz2b/2124_btc_destroyed_in_proofofburn/A lot of people are sold on the idea (unlike, for instance, NXT); they just want to know how to acquire some XCP. Everyone, please help spread the word. To be successful as an asset trading and betting platform for financial instruments, we need broad community participation not just few early adopters.

Is the Dex actually implemented and running bug free?
The Dex is actually implemented and running fine. There have been sample trades made on the exchanges. (There are some minor issues with rounding of numbers, e.g., 1.99999 vs 2.0, however the developers are working on it). Hmm. I'm surprised. From the amount of finagling its taken the mastercoin dev's I had come to the conclusion that it was a rather complicated undertaking. Hi, one of the (early) testers The decentralized exchange is, and has been, working for weeks now. http://www.blockscan.com/order_match.aspxSo I can trade btc/xcp and vice versa? Why are we using a forum thread to trade? Yes, you can trade BTC/XCP via the decentralized exchange on Counterparty. However, it is only command line based for now. (The GUI will be out on the 14th).

Only 0.01 BTC/XCP ?!? Where will you invest your BTC after selling ? Another altcoin ?
I can't see better coin at the moment because no coin can have a better ROI next weeks and BTC will not grow either 10 fold during next weeks. And if it occurs, XCP can grow proportionally better...
The first goal is to outreach Mastercoin cap.
I will be holding my XCP. It is one of the few coins with a functioning prototype. The community should focus on. a) Setting up a Newbie friendly guide for CounterParty b) Get a functioning GUI (bounty in progress) c) Create Use Cases and Promotional Material - that will help a non technical user understand the value of this technology.

Hey, I'm not selling any XCP for a while, maybe a long while. I am just trying to establish what a fair market value is. .01 BTC puts XCP at approx 50% mastercoin valuation.
Maybe some XCP holders didn't know this, I didn't realize the huge disparity in valuation until I looked it up.
If all XCP holders know the actual value of what they have, then it is much less likely for a crazy speculative bubble to form. Granted this links XCP value to mastercoin, but that seemed to be the closest reference point. Gotta start somewhere.
James
P.S. I own a larger percentage of XCP than NXT, so I am fully motivated to help XCP values increase.
Agree, with your comments on valuation. 50% of Mastercoin marketcap(40 Million), would put us around 20 Million(or around 0.01 BTC).

I reread the original NXT thread and I think one of the key reasons the price of NXT did so well was that immediately after genesis block, a market price of 1BTC per million NXT was established. This was a big premium over genesis price.
I think I saw some price for XCP at .01 BTC on some external site, I like the sounds of that for a starting market price.
If we can all be firm and not sell for below .01 BTC, then that will be the new price.
Someone needs to purchase XCP at .01BTC, I would but I burned all my spare BTC
Any buyer and seller to start the after-burn XCP trade market at .01BTC?
