Just tried starting POW mining on another linux machine, now there is an additional error block constantly occuring:
Code:

While the error itself seems to be normal, the rate with which it occurs surely isn't (maybe two dozen of these per second...).  Roll Eyes

I honestly wonder who is mining the blocks right now, because somehow the pools (or at least the main pool) don't seem to have gotten a single paid block since 49200..
242  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BiblePay | Masternodes | Sanctuaries | POBH - ASIC Resistant | 10% ORPHANS on: May 29, 2018, 02:46:03 PM
Is something wrong right now?
My Desktop PC is not showing all transactions, biblepay-centrals biblepayd is stuck ad "Loading block index" and https://explorebiblepay.com/ is down, as is my own explorer.

Error on biblepay-central:
2018-05-29 09:25:04 Verifying governance.dat format...
2018-05-29 09:25:04 ERROR: Read: Checksum mismatch, data corrupted
2018-05-29 09:25:04 Error reading governance.dat: Dump: File format is unknown or invalid, please fix it manually

Edit: The error on the explorer is longer:
<snip>
Anyone else having any problems?

My wallet seems to be stable (v1.1.2.4).  Current block 49306, Last block time: Tue May 29 12:23:26 2018 (BST = GMT+1/UTC+1)

EDIT: I do see the following in my debug.log though, so that may relate to the error:

2018-05-29 11:52:35  CPID is not in prior superblock.  Contextual check block failed.  CPID 557d748a659072797daf84734316fd49, Payments: 0.000000  ERROR: ProcessNewBlock: AcceptBlock FAILED
2018-05-29 11:52:35 ERROR: ProcessBlockFound -- ProcessNewBlock() failed, block not accepted

Also it is writing this error to the logfile a lot - I renamed the old log after closing Biblepay, and in under half an hour the new log had reached 235MB and over 2.6 million lines, so is likely what is crashing it on some people's machines.

Try starting the wallet with "-printtoconsole" to see if that stops it crashing.

Yes, my Win10 wallet just crashed again. I checked the debug.log and it's a whopping 1.7 GB (!), and that's after I deleted it maybe 2 hours ago! I think I will leave it for now and wait until things are sorted out. :-D

P.S.: My Win7 wallet is also starting to fill up the debug.log, now already at 900 MB :/.

P.P.S: On Linux it's even worse, one is over 4GB already, last entries all look like this:
Code:

I restarted my Win10 wallet and it was missing a lot of transactions (almost 4 weeks), but those "re-appaered" over the last 10 minutes or so. My Win7 wallet was still running fine, I tried to close and start it back up and no problems there. Strange things...

Anyone else having any problems?

I have a transaction that keeps popping in then out then in again.
Something is funny, but I don;t know if we will figure out what until Rob wakes up.
So we sit tight Smiley

Cannot see problems in transactions, but since a couple of hours my windows wallet (Win10) keeps on crashing. Windows 7 and Linux wallets seem to be fine, but on Linux it doesn't seem to mine correctly, only showing about 1/3 CPU usage.

Maybe all this is connected and also the reason why there was no adjustment in the WCG factor today.
245  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BiblePay | Masternodes | Sanctuaries | POBH - ASIC Resistant | 10% ORPHANS on: May 29, 2018, 05:57:07 AM
Is it the POW have problem on purepool or for all heatmining?

I saw the difficulty_pow and networkhashps both are very low now, it seem unreasonable.

POW doesn't work right now because there was no PODC block yesterday and consequently all CPIDs are "invalid". This is a problem that has been discussed before, but I don't think there was a solution implemented.
In a couple of hours (after block 49405) everything should be fine. Wink

P.S.: Don't ask me how the network pays right now and who is credited the blocks, but the pools definitely aren't. Perhaps someone with more understanding of the technicalities can answer that question.^^
246  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BiblePay | Masternodes | Sanctuaries | POBH - ASIC Resistant | 10% ORPHANS on: May 28, 2018, 12:03:05 PM
I have biblepayd running for heat mining on an Odroid C2 (Ubuntu 16.04 LTS headless) and sporadically get the following error:
Code:
*** Error in `biblepayd': double free or corruption (fasttop): 0x0000007f600caaa0 ***

There are no errors or "strange things" in the debug.log, so that's not a lot of help. Any idea (or anyone experiencing the same error on other machines)?

Thx. Wink

Edit: Just for reminding everyone: Today is monthly superblock day, which means there will be no PODC payout. Wink
247  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BiblePay | Masternodes | Sanctuaries | POBH - ASIC Resistant | 10% ORPHANS on: May 28, 2018, 09:09:23 AM
yeah, but if ccex will be closed for 3 months, then south or qiex will goes up. nobody will wait 3 months for opening ccex

...and I think this could also be a good thing. If both exchanges have such low overall volumes and BBP rises significantly, then chances are that at one point or the other it's gonna account for a high percentage of the overall volume on these exchanges and therefore gain more recognition. Of course we may see huge leaps (up AND down) in the price because of the low liquidity, but again this could help getting more people to look into the project. Wink

Well, without actually knowing what these "issues" are it's hard to answer that. I just quickly tried it and it seemed fine to me... Wink

So I have completed what I believe is a "final for now" version of the whitepaper. I've added in a page on PODC and one on security details.

The link to the PDF is still here:
https://drive.google.com/open?id=1xndlt3HWTWUhZKTql3ajPFItuEUaTkJw

I think we should get this moved over to our official website sooner rather than later though. We can always make subsequent changes as necessary.

Wow, that surely looks awesome and definitely more professional than many other CPU coin whitepapers.
Nice work, I hope you make a proposal for your efforts. Wink

@Rob: Thanks for quickly investigating the WCG issues and good luck with solving this quickly. As a European I can only apologize for the stupid decisions made in "our" parliament...

For anyone who attached his WCG to byteball to receive some extra "bytes" (thx to 616westwarmoth for the hint): they seem to have the same problem since yesterday^^.

I'm willing to sell a bunch of BBP OTC.. And if offer is enough there is even a possibility I will sell my MN amount OTC.. Of course an trusted escrow can oversee and handle all the transactions so that trust wont be an issue..

Please PM me if you are interested. I will already tell you that any offer below the exchange price is automatically declined.

Cheers.

Just curious, what would get somebody to buy if you want above market price?

Go and market buy 2m BBP and see what it costs.. That won't be cheaper.

The same applies to you selling on the market.

Uhh, yes.. Hence im offering an OTC as that is the whole point behind an OTC buddy....
what is your point?

I think his point is that since you also wouldn't be able to sell all your coins at current market price, your OTC offer should be at a lower price too. Wink

Hi there.
I used version 0.6 for weeks and never had any problems. Today I updated to 0.6.1 and while the performance seems ok (at least at pool side) I have a strange phenomenon:
The miner output only occurs ONCE and then never again (tested on different pools, coins etc.), so my whole output looks like this:

Hello everyone,

just a quick but major question: is this coin dead??

Reason is: I discovered it just yesterday, downloaded the wallet and wanted to start mining.

1. The wallet is more than 2 years old!?
2. The wallet doesn't find any connections to the network (all my other wallets, also the qt ones, do).
3. Solo mining from the wallet didn't work at all (wouldn't even start the minerd)
4. Pool mining started on the p2p pool, but it seems like this one doesn't find any blocks...

What's going on here?

P.S.: Is this CPU only (which I would prefer) or are there GPU miners available?

Well, I guess in that case no answer is in fact an answer. Good bye and good luck!

You are complicating it to the point where i can't help.

Anyways. If you are a noob and you are proud of it. Try multipoolminer and mining pool hub. And google it before you turn to sissy-mode!

https://www.google.com/search?q=youtube+multipoolminer

Choose yescrypt algo for the multipoolminer config file.

And.... Go buy some BSTY's for long term. Cheapest way to get them.

LOL, are you kidding? First of all you haven't addressed a single one of my points. Second, I currently mine more than a dozen coins (mostly CPU, but also AMD/nVIDIA), running a wallet for all of them (several QT wallets being amongst those) and never had any problems connecting to the network, connecting to a pool etc.
So no, I'm not a noob. Anyway, I don't think I will waste my time anymore with this, although it sounded great at first...

Rob,

I noticed the sanctuaries were pulling data from WCG using this https://download.worldcommunitygrid.org/boinc/stats/user.gz

However, since the General Data Protection Regulation, it is now a restricted URL. Please see:

Quote

How do I export World Community Grid statistics?
Access to World Community Grid's data export files is restricted to persons who agree to comply with certain requirements regarding the processing of such data, and who sign our Data Processing Agreement.

This is in response to the General Data Protection Regulation, introduced by the European Union to give people control over their personal data.

To request access to the statistics export data, please contact us.

Why do I get a message saying 'Access is denied.' when I try to use one of the World Community Grid API's?
Some of the World Community Grid API's provide access to information identified by the European Union General Data Protection Regulation.  These require an authentication token to be used in the URL before you can access the data.  You can obtain a token by following the instructions here.

Once you have obtained a token, place "&token=yourtoken" at the end of the URL. You would replace 'yourtoken' with the token you are provided.

Ah, nice find. I was starting to wonder why in "exec getboincinfo" the WCG hasn't moved for quite some time. Sounds like it's fixable quite easy.

This whole EU GDPR is such a massive train wreck, it's unbelievable....

The pool shows only Roseta RAC and not the Total (Rosetta and WCG) RAC.
No, I mean on their own web page under "my contribution" and "device statistics". Especially when you are just starting out on different machines and you want to check how they behave it's practically impossible to do so because the points are updated like once per day.  Angry

On another note: @Lichtsucher: I think the PODC stats on Biblepay Central are stuck, they still show the estimated payments for 48175. Wink

A quick question.

Is there any problem on pool.biblepay.org?

It shows the same PCs as active and as missing.

In conf file I have
pool=http://pool.biblepay.org

Is it OK or it should be https?

Thanks
Are your PCs in the leaderboard? If so, just check back a couple of minutes later, it sounds like a little bug. I only use https:// URLs, they have worked flawlessly for months. Not sure about the http version, I think for that it was (at some point) necessary to add poolport=80. Just use the secure connection. Wink

btw: How slow is WCG with the balance refresh? It sometimes takes 10-15 hours to show the actual credits. I thought this was an IBM project. Seems like they dedicated only their best servers for that task. Cheesy

From May, 31 till approximately August, 31 we will switch to "limited service" mode for summer vacations.

We will: provide trading service, API trading service, C-CEX codes creation and redeeming, fiat deposits and withdrawals.
We will not: provide all cryptocoin and tokens deposits and withdrawals, support ticket service.

If you need your cryptocurrency to trade here or elsewhere during "limited service" period - please, deposit or withdraw it before vacation start date. Please, do not send any deposits during "limited service" period as they will not be posted to balances.

We will resume normal service after August, 31. We may resume normal service earlier. We may serve tickets during vacation period but we do not take obligation to do that.

Happy summer!

What the?Huh He goes on "vacation" for THREE MONTHS and announces it a whopping 1 week before? What about people that are on a 10 day vacation right now and don't get the chance to withdraw? This is ridiculous...
I just double-checked to make sure I have nothing left on there, you never know.

On another note: Is there a "project status" page for WCG as there is for R@H? Yesterday I installed a new machine and there weren't any jobs available for some time. I think BBP already made a huge impact there also.  Roll Eyes

Wow, haven't been here a couple of days and I it seems like a lot of awesome work has been done. Thank you so much to all the guys putting effort in creating content, web pages, statistics, repositories (Wink) etc. and God bless!

Since WCG finally recognized my original CPID I tried it on some other machines too and so far it seems to run smoothly. Moreover I think it is a lot better for people with very bad internet connection and/or not a lot of disk space, since the work packages are considerably smaller (by factor 10 or even more...).
Now I have a very simple question which I couldn't find the answer for: Where do I find the WCG "RAC" or how is it calculated? On the web page I only see the WCG points (which seemingly arent't updated very often...), but is there any statistics on the RAC like on the R@h web page? If not, where does the PODC calculation get the RAC for WCG from?

The easiest way to get the current WCG rac is to load the Boinc GUI to one of your machines (I use boinc GUI on my windows machines) IE Boincmgr - sudo apt get install boincmgr, run it, switch to the Advanced View first, ensure WCG is attached as a project, and click Update, and read the RecentAverageCredit from the WCG Project row.

Biblepay multiplies it * 1.5 currently, for the sanc contract.

Ah thanks. I saw that "avg. work done" number (since I also use the GUI on my windows PC), but I didn't update, so the numbers were all over the place^^. Nice to know this as a kind of landmark, let's see how this builds up over time...
Is this number also available for single machines? I cannot find this in the device statistics.
