huge gaffe by rand paul.. i guess he felt comfortable saying incendiary things since it was fox news after all. even if it wasn't what he meant, it doesn't matter, because the media will spin it on him.

Quote
“Now you know my life…I just can’t eat a burger made by an immigrant, but I have my reasons. It has nothing to do with them being here illegally, it’s just an attack on our American culture to do so.” Paul said, before explaining that while the confrontation with King was happening, he was a mere 10 feet away giving another interview he had promised earlier.

they must believe that a vast majority of bitcoin users are druggies and peddlers.. that or they just want to make bitcoin look bad. what's funny is that they'd be buying the bitcoin with CASH.
423  Other / Politics & Society / Re: SOUTH KOREA sends 720 lb toxic payload to North Korea on: August 09, 2014, 05:51:15 PM
i find it strange that they send chocopies to a country of people who are malnourished and starving. chocopies are not going to help.. give them something with more nutritional value.

Have you read the article?

Quote
It was an act of rebellion against the alleged North Korean ban on the chocolate confections.

You can't send tons of food with balloons.
in 2013:
Quote
The UN food body on Saturday said it had approved $200 million of food aid for North Korea, targeting the country's most vulnerable people who remain dependent on external assistance.

The World Food Programme (WFP) executive board has this week approved a new two-year operation for North Korea starting on July 1, WFP spokesman Marcus Prior said.

"It will target about 2.4 million people - almost all children, and pregnant and nursing women - with about 207,000 metric tons of food assistance at a cost of US$200 million," he said in an email to AFP.

Is that enough to help to a country which is constantly harassing you with it's military plans?

what about it? still doesnt' change the fact that if i'm sending "food" to starving people, it won't be chocolate pies.

no one is starving, these are stories from 1994 - 2000 being repeated in the media by anti dprk sources. in recent years north koreans have seen great improvements in their living standards under the guidance of leaders kim jong il and kim jong un.

do you work for the glorious leader kim jong un? because north korea is one of the poorest countries in the world.
424  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wallstreet guys won't buy from exchanges on: August 09, 2014, 05:27:36 PM
Off exchanged deals still influence price. But they dont make exchanges richer.
I think off exchange deals very much influence the price. If the buyer did not buy from the seller then the seller would have likely used an exchange to sell his coins, putting pressure on the market.

no, i think if the seller did not sell off-market to the buyer, then he'd sell it to someone else.. off-market (ie: secondmarket). you can't really sell 20k coins without affecting the price.

simple solution: go cold storage. even if this claim were true, there's no way they could get a PW from a computer that is not connected to the internet.

Hot wallets are necessary, for example, to run business that accept bitcoin as payments, or exchanges. So the password issue is something that must be worked one

most convert to cash, don't they? so bitpay would just send them USD almost instantly.

buying into the winklevi ETF is a counterparty risk too, isn't it? i'm not an expert on ETFs, but they could sell "shares" of bitcoins without actually buying any to back up the assets, couldn't they?
429  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Does it seem like things are getting progressively worse? on: August 08, 2014, 08:30:05 AM
i think things are getting worse and it's building towards a critical mass.

not just the wars, but the world economy too. our financial system is fucked and there is nothing that is going to save it. the middle class is going extinct and meanwhile there are groups of people trying to exterminate countries of people.

i think within my lifetime, we're going to start seeing a really, really deluded and fucked up world. a new dark age maybe.
430  Other / Politics & Society / Does it seem like things are getting progressively worse? on: August 08, 2014, 08:20:18 AM
Or is it the fact that people always tend to think that the present moment is always the worst?

There is so much crazy shit going on in the world right now.. you have the Putin vs. The West, Israeli-Palestine conflict, ISIS storming through Iraq and murdering innocent people, civil war in Syria, and health concerns about the Ebola virus..
431  Other / Politics & Society / Re: ISIS executes 1,500 Iraqi POWs on: August 08, 2014, 06:48:36 AM
man i've been watching some morbid shit lately.. few days ago i saw the best documentary i've soon, "the act of killing." it actually follows with the perspective of the guys who are doing the killing (in indonesia that is) and how it affects them psychologically.
432  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I was able to tell the mainstream media what we really think of the Foundation on: August 08, 2014, 03:25:32 AM
Wait wut, Brock Pierce director of the Bitcoin foundation? I used to see him on Disney Channel when I was a kid. In what planet did he contribute to the crypto world to become the BTC Foundation director? This is a shocker to me, I didn't knew about this. Sounds kinda funny.

he's also pals with child molesters, and i believe he has a history of being accused of such.

i forget the details, but he bought his way into the foundation.
433  Other / Politics & Society / Re: BREAKING NEWS: American Patriots Militia Groups taking down the Federal Reserve on: August 08, 2014, 01:29:50 AM
Realistically, the U.S. just need to take back the printer, they never really need the scam Federal Reserve. The US would do just fine without the 13 inbred European Bloodlines of the Terrorist organization Illuminati.

actor tom truong, i'm looking for any of your works but i am having trouble finding any. how are you an actor/director without any experience?

i see you registered yourself on imdb. long list of works there! http://www.imdb.com/name/nm4873124/?ref_=fn_al_nm_2

my problem with hilary is that she's the same sold same old.. she brokered that secretary of state to pretty much push the U.S. imperialistic agenda forward. i don't think her campaign message would be anything similar to "hope and change," because it's obvious she'll do shit the same way as the US has done before.
The thing is the MSM which consists of all stations from Abc/Nbc/Cbs/Cnn/Msnbc will all glorify whoever the Democrat is. Many of the boobs only get their news from the big 3 Abc/Nbc/Cbs because they're the free stations that everyone gets. True lefties and righties prefer their Msnbc/Cnn and Fox but the extremely low info voters get there's from the former and those stations typically don't give coverage to the likes of a libertarian unless they're too big to ignore. And even then, it's slanted heavily toward the statist flavor.
This is true regarding the ideologies of the stations but I think enough of the population has access to cable that most can watch all the MSM stations. I think that liberals have a huge media advantage in any election and this causes them to get more of the vote then the ideology of the country would suggest.

you can't peg it all on the liberal media though. once the official election comes around, both candidates will get a shitload of exposure.. only problem is that the last 2 republicans to run were piss-poor candidates.

MSNBC appears to even like rand paul, at least a lot more than the other republican candidates. also, i don't think really has a strong leaning towards democrats for the election cycle. they just try to over-report on both sides.
435  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Alex Jones is pro-BTC, says his store will begin to accept as payment... on: August 08, 2014, 12:59:30 AM
I think Alex Jones' role is to gather up the ignorant, patriot prepper community and soften them up for his survival products.  Dude's making a mint.

This is good for bitcoin, however, not a huge thing but good because his audience is huge.  So if just some of them buy some bitcoin that is very, very good.
This is exactly what I was thinking. They start buying BTC to hide their purchases from the illuminati or nwo or whatever it is now, so the price would go up.

I have a feeling his audience will start lapping it up pretty quickly, and we might see a rally to $600 or higher.

there's a reason why there are quite a few of his supporters on this forum  Cheesy

chris christie has yet to recover from bridgegate.. funny how an event that happens 3ish years before the presidential election will pretty much ruin his chances.

Quote
New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R) continues to struggle with his image in the state months after it was revealed that his aides intentionally created traffic gridlock near the George Washington Bridge to punish a mayor who had not supported Christie's re-election, a new Quinnipiac poll finds.

Forty-nine percent of New Jersey voters said they approve of the job Christie is doing as governor, while 47 percent disapprove. Respondents were split along party lines, with 86 percent of Republicans approving of Christie's job performance, compared with 47 percent of independents and only 23 percent of Democrats.

Christie's favorability rating is even, with 47 percent saying they have a favorable opinion of him and another 47 percent saying they have an unfavorable opinion. In November, 64 percent of respondents expressed a favorable opinion of Christie, and only 29 percent said they had an unfavorable opinion.

Opinions about Christie's personality in particular have soured. When asked whether they saw Christie as more of a bully or a leader, 48 percent of respondents said bully, while another 48 percent said leader. In a January Quinnipiac poll, conducted as information about the bridge scandal was first being released, 54 percent of respondents saw Christie more as a leader, while 40 percent saw him as a bully.
437  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why people price things in fiat but want BTC - choose one or the other on: August 07, 2014, 11:32:57 PM
People who have been around for 2+ years know why pricing things in BTC is an exercise in futility.

yeah, i know that .2 bitcoins is equivalent to $120 in today's price.. around there at least. but once bitcoin goes for $1450 per, it'll be harder to calculate a reference point for how much .2 is really worth. if bitcoin overtook the dollar as a currency then it'd be fair game, but we're not even close right now.
438  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why people price things in fiat but want BTC - choose one or the other on: August 07, 2014, 10:56:04 PM
I've seen loads of topics of people trying to sell things and saying I want x amount of dollars worth of BTC. Surely if someone is so keen on the idea of Bitcoin fiat shouldn't even be mentioned.

They should be prepared in certain instances to take a fiat loss for their beliefs.

it's not as simple as you think. bitcoin's price is always rising, so .02 btc is not the same today as it is tomorrow. plus, fiat is our point of reference, since bitcoins are denominated into decimals. it's hard to scale them.
439  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is bitcoin stable now? on: August 07, 2014, 10:50:41 PM
Bitcoin is always on a stable rise Smiley Don't look at the top and bottom numbers look at the average price. Every 6 months the average price goes up a bit.

in february, bitcoin was $804ish dollars. 6 months later, it is hovering around $590. your statement is false.
