Decentralized exchange ftw Grin

Yeh...Wall Street is going to be pissed.  There are definitely dangers that go along with this, but I say let it happen.  These corrupt fascists, it seems, must learn yet again that human ingenuity can be bludgeoned to within an inch of death, but a spark will always ensue...a phoenix to burn them all to embers.

Apparently these guys have never read a history book...

Teach them this lesson again crypto-community!

3  Other / Beginners & Help / Bitcoin Presentation for Discrete Mathematics Class on: November 08, 2013, 11:42:52 AM
Hello everyone,

I am a liberty-minded veteran of the U.S. Military who is sad to see what is happening to the banking system here and the problems they are creating world-wide.  This is why I fell in love with Bitcoin.

I am currently in an Introduction to Discrete Mathematics class and we have to do a slideshow at the end of the course talking about a technology wherein discrete mathematics is used...and show the vision for what that technology might do to change the world.  Naturally, I chose Cryptocurrency, with Bitcoin being the chief amongst them.  With that said, however, I am not a mathematician so I am hoping to get some guidance from someone with a solid foundation in this topic who can guide me in the right direction as to how I might be able to get the message across to people about why Bitcoin is an important addition to our world...and how exactly discrete mathematics serves to help form it.  I would likely need a couple times chatting with someone, but really want to help this community grow and one way to do it is to teach not only the students about this technology, but also the professor...and I want to look like I know a little more than I know about the back end.

I know about the SHA 256 algorithm and eliptical curve algorithms as the foundations for bitcoin's strengths but am wanting to dig just a little bit below the surface on that.  By no stretch does he expect us to be experts, but to show that we are on the right path to understanding it.

Thanks greatly for any guidance!

J
