1  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are there security issues with Bitcoin for Free / Faucet-Services? on: March 31, 2013, 06:13:26 PM
There is no risk.

Please refrain from posting stupid questions on this sub-forum.

Have a shit day.

Hi WikileaksDude,
I just asked a question - why getting personal?
There might be some 'Free Bitcoins'-sites which track BTC addresses when they are reused for the transactions history.
And the sites have the corresponding user's IP-address also...
Have a good day.
2  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Are there security issues with Bitcoin for Free / Faucet-Services? on: March 31, 2013, 11:15:51 AM

When I use Armory with fresh addresses for each donation,

is it a security risk to have such a Bitcoin-Address submitted to some free 'Bitcoin Faucet' websites?

Is there some security issue which might arise when I use each address only a single time?

3  Bitcoin / Armory / Re: Armory scanning the whole blockchain every time i start the program on: March 28, 2013, 03:49:45 PM
I also have this problem on Windows 7, 64bit with both the Bitcoin-Qt and Armory-clients installed not on default locations.
Else it works, but this constant rescanning upon each start make it practically useless for me for "fast" transactions.
For offline wallets it's ok to wait for me.

It would be great if this can be fixed, maybe by checkpointing and a Merkle tree hash upon all successfully validated transactions.
4  Bitcoin / Armory / Re: Armory - Discussion Thread on: March 28, 2013, 02:38:58 PM
Is it only my Armory online-client or does it generally consume a lot of memory (Win 7, 64bit)?

Here's another code for lowered transaction prices - remember, the referral link only lasts for a year.

Hi,

this address is strange, the last two transactions go to multiple addresses, why?

http://blockchain.info.nyud.net/en/address/12yt6cH8j2Hng5EeG8Y98WCxwypM5w8wkD

How do you interpret the last two transactions? I only sent to a single address each time.

Might it be a Bitcoin Wallet Trojan?

10  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / bitcoind server - disable logging possible? on: October 03, 2011, 06:39:57 PM
Hi,

I cannot find any option in the manual to disable logging altogether (on Ubuntu 9.04).
Is there such an option?

Thanks

Is the initial offer still valid?

Yeah, it's dead. The OP isn't replying to PMs or posts in this thread. I sent the OP a PM a few days ago and posted in the thread and no word for him/her. But I'm willing to make a similar offer. I just posted a new thread: http://forum.bitcoin.org/index.php?topic=14048.0

13  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH MY BIDDINGPOND ACCOUNT on: July 01, 2011, 06:53:17 AM
Do you mean BiddingPond.com is not a reputable company, or were just some account compromised?

Can you post the contact email-address, the WHOIS-data is protected and there's no email/contact form on the site.
I did not mean to imply that Biddingpond is not reputable. They have always been helpful when I had a problem. You can contact them here. Biddingpond has an account and an ongoing thread in these forums.

I am glad. I thought because of no contact possibility on the site, and no 'Impressum' / Imprint.
THanks, I have found the thread and username and contacted him.

I need to contact support, because I did not recerive the initial verification email and there's no option to send it again.

When logging in with the proper credentials, it shows: "Your account has yet to be activated please check your emails for the activation link."

AS I already created the account under his referral-code, do you know whether I can close the account and reopen with your referral-code?
