281  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Tethers actually worth $0.94? on: January 09, 2017, 06:09:50 AM
I think this has happened before. The error was then and prob now with coinmarketcap
The difference is so small, I'd guess coinmarketcap is a few minutes behind. I think the figures look fine, contrary to the opening post. Though I may have missed something?
282  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Tethers actually worth $0.94? on: January 08, 2017, 03:56:16 AM
They have more coins than dollars. What's going on? https://wallet.tether.to/transparency

I assume they are saying they have $11,244,909.07 in a bank and $10,896,577.69 worth of Tether issued.

Coinmarketcap has

283  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: | STRATIS | The first blockchain developed for businesses |Full POS on: January 08, 2017, 03:24:50 AM
What possible incentive do they have to even bother with the existing chain?  Think about that.  That logic applies to all of the other open source platforms that these scammers are shilling.  Why use an existing chain when it's open source?  Answer that question.  You can't.
Most, if not all companies outsource a lot of things today. Why would companies do everything "in house" in today's world?

It's much more efficient for companies to focus on their core business and outsource things requiring  expertise in areas outside their core work.

Take the ASX as an example. They have a huge IT department, but for blockchain solutions they outsourced to Digital Asset Holdings.

Also, no one knows in advance what business ideas will work. Starting a business involves taking some risks. But if the business does not work as planned that doesn't mean it was a "scam".
No one knows what blockchain technology will look like in 6 months, let alone a year or two, but if it does grow then it will probably be companies like Stratis that do well out of it. Though nothing is guaranteed of course.
284  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] AEON 2nd gen cryptonote, anon, mobile-friendly, scalable, pruning on: January 04, 2017, 10:11:10 PM
Is there a public node available for AEON?

I don't think so. Maybe you would like to offer one?

What sort of things can the community do to help the project?
285  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [AEON] Aeon Speculation on: January 04, 2017, 10:08:16 PM

Poloniex is not interested in coins with low development. They allready have plenty and delisting them.

Well to be honest, I don't know what the fuck's going on with Aeon's development. There doesn't seem to be any development or development communication going on whatsoever.
Last we heard Aeon was going to be rebased this year in line with XMR. I presume this will happen, as Smooth seems reliable.

I'm quite happy with not too much hype, and intermittent updates. This coin is a sleeper. As the global crypto community grows we could see more people help with development of this coin and that would be a big positive.

We are working on cooperations using our platform. I can't reveal any specific details right now.

Well worth a read.

Change the name of the token. You have millions of words to choose from, don't take a word that is already being used.  Roll Eyes

Thanks Guys...I have a pretty busy job and have been really busy last few days, so wasn't quite up to speed.

I haven't followed this but is there a link with a countdown clock and info about the BTC raised?
Can we buy them on Trex?

Can I just buy here?

290  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Using solar power to run a mining setup?? on: December 24, 2016, 05:51:23 PM
off grid is not convenient in the end, you need battery which are expensive and last 10 years

you will end up pying your electricity in advance, and it's pointless if you have less than 10cent electricity anyway

on grid may have a reason, but the solar pannel need to be positioned in the best place where there is more sun activity, so cold place are not advisable

and even then it was calculated that 1kwh for example only cover you for 3 hours a day

For maximizing the usage of panel you will need a batteries anyways. New generation of LiFePO4 batteries is not too bad from both - price and durability point of view

But overall setup will be quite expensive

I may use a flow battery rather than Lithium
291  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Using solar power to run a mining setup?? on: December 24, 2016, 05:15:47 AM
Has anyone ever used a solar panel to run a mining set up?

or..does anyone know how much power a standard mining set up uses?

I found an old thread here.

292  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ICOv2 ANN][DAR] Darcrus | Blockchain Database Startup - Enterprise, Everywhere on: December 24, 2016, 01:54:51 AM
I support Darcrus and can't wait to see what will happen after the distribution has been made. I wonder ehst price the coin will fetch people must not dump.they must hold on to the coin until the value is good and stays that way. I hope Darcrus stays strong and the platform works as it should.

Look at all other ico's, price is high during the ico, dev earn sick money and after the ico the price drops to 0.
It was also with all the other ico's, also on bittrex (singularDTV, somebody?), many words, many pictures from team. They earned, sick, sick money on the bittrex ico and after it was all gone.
Ofc they earn like a million euro with this scam, ofc they are gone after that..
Just 1 weekend work and they earn a million, wtf do u think they do? They leave the coin and goes to the next project.
No one is forced to invest in any ICO, no one is forced to believe, to like any project or team! Your opinion is only an opinion, it's necessary to do a research before anything, do not speak for speaking, do not write for writing, without fundament it's difficult for someone to take you seriously!

I wish the project well. I invested first round only to have my bitcoins returned. I would have invested at 2500 satoshi if I'd been aware. I suspect Sigwo is a talented developer. So enough said
293  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ICOv2 ANN][DAR] Darcrus | Blockchain Database Startup - Enterprise, Everywhere on: December 23, 2016, 10:18:17 PM
Really? The coins a 2500 sats are already gone, and now people have to pay 4000 sats?  For real?
294  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Zcoin (XZC) - Implementing Zerocoin technology for financial privacy on: December 18, 2016, 03:00:48 AM
Nice dump down to 35000 sats

35000 sats?

21,000,000 X $790 X .00035000 =$5806500

Total market cap on completion of mining.  $5806500

Got my BTC back
296  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: the state of play on: December 12, 2016, 06:59:58 AM
I want to make sure I understand Smiley

1. I can have my BTC refunded.
2. I still have 2 days to arrange this (until the 14th)
3. I can choose to collect DAR tokens instead.
4. The DAR not taken up will be escrowed and sold at a later date in small parcels as the project needs funds.
5. DAR will be listed on Bittrex this week.

Are these things right?

Everyone has to take refund. Then new ICO will start. Details will be announced as soon as all refunds are processed.

OK thanks. Did that change in the last 12 hours or am I crazy?  Huh

...Zeroknowledge coins require a "trusted set up". We need to be absolutely sure we can trust whoever set it up...

From the first paragraph of the Zcoin section:
Quote
Since monetary inflation of any kind would be detected immediately this also mitigates any trust issues during initial setup.

According to the interview with Gary Le Zcoin does have a trusted setup.
Just after the 30 minute mark or thereabouts.
Unless I missed something

Important question.
If I put more BTC in now, when can I expect to have them returned if the ICO does not go ahead?

1. If I send from my own wallet?
2. If I send from an exchange?

Refunds will be processed manually through the support. So there is no difference from whence you will send your Bitcoins.
Thanks you. I presume they will start refunding once the deadline hits?

I'm interested to know as I'm thinking of putting more Bitcoin in...but am thinking it may not go ahead so don't want them tied up too long Smiley
