1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Best Altcoins to speculate on.. on: December 02, 2013, 10:11:11 PM
I guess Feathercoin will be my next bet. Only because it's cheapest and I can get the most for the least risk.

And that's the info I'm trying to get outta this thread. Which of these Cryptos will have those nice 'little/big' moves.

I just slaughtered my hamster and read the future in it's liver. It said Colossuscoin will be the next big thing!

Well Ok sure. But... I can usually glean some insightful information..  to make an educated guess on a good buy.

Ripple is a "scam" and it's just semantics to argue that "scam" is not exactly the correct word to use. Ripple was started to make the people who own Ripple very rich. The fact that the XRP market cap is far higher than Bitcoin should be a giant red flag for those of you who are considering putting money into Ripple.

Yeah I think 'scam' is the wrong word. It just was VERY confusing, convoluted and unclear as to its purpose or use.  Which makes me uncomfortable, since I can't get clear answers, it makes me weary. Like it's all smoke and mirrors. If I can't grasp the concept, I won't be able to trust putting my money on it. Maybe I'm stupid and that's the problem. But researching into it I do NOT seem to be the only one that is confused by Ripple.

"None of them.

Invest in bitcoins, not the poor-man's clones."

Well Bitcoin for the Long term for sure. But there is a LOT more short term speculative gains to made in these smaller currencies. Bit burger put it nicely, and that's the info I'm trying to get outta this thread, which of these Cryptos will have those nice 'little/big' moves.

For the recod, I made actual money, using Ripple. I also made money using Bitcoin.

+ 1

Bought a big chunk at .03 and now it sits at .05.  Almost doubled my money.
Thats the beauty of this whole scene.  Cryptos.   / Alt coins ...
You can buy tens, hundreds of thousands of something that's worth a fraction of a dollar, and the tiniest bump means big gains.

Hello.. I bought some Litecoin a few weeks ago at 5$ and have done quite well with them. I just traded what LTC I had for BTC yesterday. I want to acquire more BTC in this way.

I feel that Altcoins will give a bit more return in the short term then BTC. BTC for the long of course!

Of all the coins I can trade on  CoinMKT which ones are the best bet?

LiteCoin $27
PPCoin $5
TerraCoin $1.2
NameCoin $6.7
FeatherCoin $.87
PrimeCoin $5

Since Chinese discovered Ripple it gained 1000% in value. Unlike those mentioned above, it isnt just modified BTC.

Ughh Ripple? Really? I tried to figure out ripple but it seemed like a scam.

You have to wait.
Transactions are not instant.

Transactions are instant. Confirmations aren't  Tongue
If the transaction wasn't sent with a miner's fee, it'll take a really long time for it to be added to a block.
We have never seen the transaction in question since it never got transmitted so we do not know what fee would have been added had it been transmitted.

Yeah I don't think it was ever sent.  The Multibit wallet was all screwed up. When I reset the Blockchain and transactions in Multibit it lost 4 BTC from the balance and that pending transaction disappeared. BUT Blockchain.info had the full correct balance recorded in my addresses including the balance of that pending transaction! I just swept the private key for the screwed up multibit addresses and got all my money back  and in one place! Phew...

I still don't understand how Multibit screwed up so bad.  I think I need another wallet client. I have lost trust in Multibit now.

Anyone have any suggestions for a more reliable wallet client?

OMG OMG I am freaking out.... I went to tools > reset blockchain  and transactions > and reset then from the 27th... NOW I AM MISSING ABOUT  4 BTC  FROM MY ACCOUNT! I went from 21.8 BTC to 18.58 BTC and that  ORIGINAL TRANSACTION  i was waiting on is gone!

WTF IS GOING ON!
Calm down, they will be back.  You are reloading all transactions.

Once everything is back up to date, if the transaction is gone and your balance is correct then just resend it and it will probably go right out (assuming you are connected).

Let's wait a bit.  BTW how many peers are you connected to now?  I think it should be more than one.

Well I have calmed down a bit as checking the balances of the two addresses in that wallet on blockchain.info show the correct balance.  But the Multibit client is all WACKED.

I am thinking of just sweeping those two address into another wallet. Something has got to be wrong with this multibit wallet!

It's been over three hours??

Can take days ...

What!  Sad  Sad But every other transaction has been instant. Why would one go into limbo?

Wait for some more time.

Recent days show more delay if you transact with .0001 fee than .0005 fee.

How long can these delays be? Hours?  Huh

but I do not see a 0.10 transaction into https://blockchain.info/address/1KCqAiTczFe3e1Lr3j9dVN9r3mEYrJ8RDy

Please post the transaction ID of this 0.10 BTC transfer also.

I think we can figure this out with the two transaction IDs

It is that .10  in there. https://blockchain.info/tx/eca6311fafa1f31f0388195f959fa4d934d99d9cd717f1327f916cff4934a0c9

Ok i think I found the transaction ID for the first payment:

It says "transaction not found"  Huh

Hello,

I tried to make a Bitpay payment. I copied the address out of the invoice and pasted it into Multibit. It has been over three hours and it still has only been seen by one peer and is not showing up in blockchain.info! I sent a test payment right afterwards to another wallet and that one went though.

Here is the address I sent it too

1KCqAiTczFe3e1Lr3j9dVN9r3mEYrJ8RDy

Here are screen shots from Multibit:

Wtf. I just sent a test payment of .10 just now to that same Bitpay address and that went through immediately!

What can I do??
What is going on has anyone seen this before?

20  Other / Beginners & Help / Multiple Receive addresses and Private keys in one wallet??? on: November 14, 2013, 03:07:56 AM
Ok so I am kinda confused.

I make a new wallet in Multibit.  Then I go to the receive Tab and create 3 receive addresses.  I then proceed to send .10 separately to each receive address.

I then go to export the private keys.

Multibit then gives me 3 different private keys, one for each receive address I have created.

When I go to sweep the private key into block chain. Will ONE private key sweep the WHOLE wallets total amount (.30)?  Or will it only sweep the amount sent to that ONE receive address (.10)?

If it is the later.... If I lose the other private keys.... I might loose the money sent to those addresses forever??
