2  Economy / Speculation / Re: This steady rise is gonna continue till halving on: October 24, 2015, 08:23:56 AM
I don't think this rise is "the rise". We'll probably still have many months of little price movement, as we've seen the last couple months, a kind of staircase shape till the thing goes parabolic.
3  Economy / Speculation / Re: Do you have any plans if Bitcoin goes up to 300$? on: October 08, 2015, 11:37:56 AM
My plan if it goes up to $300 is trying not to get excited.
It has happened so many times the past two years, then falling back again, it's frustrating!
4  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: October 08, 2015, 11:35:56 AM
90 minutes to go now, right?

This is the most boring reaction to a sorta major event yet, I bet we won't even have a dump...

7  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: August 19, 2015, 12:22:10 AM
This is our pre-bubble flash crash folks.

I'd agree with that if there was a reason for this crash.

This is making me sick  Embarrassed

This document is fresh from the press, it's not yet availible in english för som odd reason, but if you can read any of the other 17 langugeses that it comes in it is very interesting.
In short, one of the Swedish  high courts has asked the European court for advice on where Europe stands on taxing the exchange of bitcoin to fiat and vice vesa. This in turn because a Swedish citizen appealed a decision from the Swedish tax authorties on paying tax for the exchange of bitcoins he is doing in his company.
The european advocat general Juliane Kokott suggests as a verdict that bitcoin should be regarded as a currency and not be taxed. The court usually go with the advocat generals suggestions.

good news !

This is awesome! Cheesy
11  Economy / Speculation / Re: Parabolic rise has begun on: July 12, 2015, 04:40:04 PM
It could still be only a linear rise Nov 2014 style... We'll know in a couple of weeks Smiley
12  Local / Nederlands (Dutch) / Withdrawing in The Netherlands on: July 12, 2015, 02:08:18 PM
Dear Dutch friends, sorry for writing in English but my Dutch is still quite slow! I can read it with no problems though Smiley

As we get closer to a new ATH, what are the options to sell bitcoin? What is more recommendable in terms of laws, are there any banks friendlier than others?
Thanks in advance!

13  Economy / Speculation / Re: rpietila Wall Observer - the Quality TA Thread ;) on: July 12, 2015, 02:02:21 PM
I have the feeling that the uptrend is slowly getting started. My hunch is that there is a good chance that this one will carry us to quite high values.

Caveats:
- I think it will be slow. Much slower than the culmination of the 2013 uptrend(s). If we put this in perspective of the time after the 2011 peak and downtrend, we are now emerging from the "$5 plateau", with perhaps a year more before hitting even the old ATH.
- The banksters are getting Bitcoin in their grip. The combination of extensive controls, AML/KYC, exchange failures, shorting, etc. means that no honest person has much business trying to affect the price. It will go where they want it to go, within bounds of course. They have managed it to stay low for this long, but cannot do it indefinitely
- Selling will be difficult, because at the apex of the bubble, ordinary old guard people will have million$ worth of BTC, and it's even possible that special taxes will be enacted by govts to capture most of the value from recorded sales (selling such amounts off-record and buying anything with the proceeds off-record is an activity not reserved for honest people in our current system).
- Because of the high cost of selling, not much coin will enter the market quickly enough, making the peak quite steep, as the previous peaks also have been. When the price doubles in a week, it's time to exit, and better have thought the way to do it in advance.

I would abstain from selling now, except for immediate cash flow needs. It is more likely that every month from now the price is higher, so delaying is advantageous. When the old ATH is broken, things get interesting. My sell zone starts from $3000 as I have said many times starting from more than a year ago Smiley

What do you think are the best ways to do so for us common mortals (ie non-whales)?

I get nervous just thinking about thw new ath because I have no idea how I would proceed!
14  Other / Off-topic / Re: how many language u use to talk?? on: July 07, 2015, 10:45:32 AM
English, Spanish and Portuguese as a native.
Italian, French and Catalan quite fluently.
Can survive in German and Dutch.
A bit of Japanese (reading, mostly). And Latin, of course Smiley

[my work requires knowing several languages, so I do spend quite a bit of time on it every day]
15  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: Bitcoin User Not Affected Meme Contest! on: July 07, 2015, 10:34:17 AM
Ha, I think this is a fun thread! There have been some real gems posted in here. Kudos to OP for the idea and inspiring a lot of Bitcoin memes to be created. I finally decided to make my very first meme just for this thread, I hope you enjoy it!  Cheesy
Technically I did use "Bitcoin Miners" instead of "Bitcoin Users," but oh well.

16  Economy / Speculation / Re: I'm regaining the habit of checking btc price first thing in the morning... on: July 01, 2015, 01:34:29 AM
If you have an iOS device, you can download the NastyFans iOS app.  It has a Today View option to where you can see the Bitcoin price in your Today view.  Just drag down anytime you want to see the Bitcoin price.  Smiley

NastyFans iOS app thread

Just switched to android! Hope there'll be an option in the future Smiley
17  Economy / Speculation / I'm regaining the habit of checking btc price first thing in the morning... on: June 30, 2015, 12:47:25 PM
Since about January 2014 I didn't find myself doing this.
It's just a natural impulse, I don't do it consciously, and I'm wondering if deep down my brain is finally hopeful again.

Take that for speculation Grin
18  Economy / Speculation / Re: Permabull Party Thread on: June 30, 2015, 12:36:48 PM
We are going to be soooooooo rich.

We are green 4 weeks in a row. That hasn't happened since the last bubble in 2013, so it's been 1.5 years! First time ever in that period of time we are in green 4 weeks in a row. The winkelsweeds are silent because they have actually completed their ETF and exchange and now they are waiting for the media attention directed towards bitcoin which will soon happen due to the beginning of the next bubble. When that happens, the twins will announce their ETF and amplify the bubble even more. All critical events will happen at the same time when it is the most critical time for the critical events to happen.

You are right!
I am a perma bull, but I must say, I am so afraid of being hopeful now... :/

I wish I could have a magic ball and peek into two months from now!

They won't accept bitcoin as long as they keep spelling it Bit Coin...
