To be honest, doing some surveys on our site (FreeBitcoins.org) will earn you bitcoins way faster than mining.

Of course, some people would rather sit back and earn (mining) than spend time clicking buttons (doing surveys, etc.) Smiley

I joined and tried to earn them. After 25 minutes filling in a survey I was entered into a pool to win £1000 instead of any Bitcoins. So that was a waste of time, unless I win the £1K of course.  Smiley

The survey provider enters you into that draw.  We give you the bitcoins.  They should be in your account Smiley

Well I really have no idea what your agenda is, perhaps you're launching a competitor...

Anyway, should anyone have any questions, feel free to email us (contact@****bitcoins.org - replace **** with free) or give us a call at 1-888-583-2993!

ROFL @ You avoiding offers that do this and do that. Like they tell you on how many of their customers opt-in lists they'll use the data

ROFL 2 @ Your users understanding how it works. If they did, they wouldn't touch CPA offers with a 10foot pole

ROFL 3 @ happy users...  Roll Eyes

ROFL 1: We hand pick every offer.  We remove offers that users complain about.  Our most popular offers are actually consumer research surveys.  And, believe it or not, when you have a good, long-lasting relationship with a company, you CAN ask them questions about their offers!

ROFL 2: This point makes no sense at all.  And given the fact that I've communicated with hundreds of our members numerous times via email and phone, I can assure you that they understand.  In the rare cases they don't, I take the time to explain it to them.

ROFL 3: Uhh... we have 9000 users earning 100s of BTC for doing easy surveys in their free time.  Our praise to complaint ratio is about 100:1.

You obviously have some big issue with the industry in general, and this isn't the place to bitch about it.  If you'd like some advice, or maybe some industry contacts, shoot me a PM and I'd be glad to help Smiley

I think that most if not all of our users understand how it works, and many choose to use another email address.

It takes a few seconds to create a gmail address, which would not affect offer conversion whatsoever.

Also, we certainly avoid offers that subscribe a user to thousands of other lists...that's absurd.

I'm sure I've done CPA for longer than you my friend, and I certainly don't share the same level of pessimism.  Neither do our thousands of happy users Smiley

If you want to immigrate, you should look at Vancouver, British Columbia. It's only a few hours drive from Seattle, but twice as big and with a large Asian community. Canada has much less strict immigration laws as well and you can buy Cuban cigars there.

But a much higher cost of living...

Edit: I guess that depends on how you live, though.

I also disagree, I just started using freebitcoins.org this week.  The first surveys I did didn't show up until the next day, but now they seem to be coming almost immediately.

It looks like the site takes 0.001 BTC for every survey I complete.  A pretty small fee, considering most surveys pay around 0.035 BTC.  Yesterday I tried to get a pay out, and this morning there were my earned bitcoin in my wallet, with no fees taken! I'm only in my first week and I've already earned over 0.2 BTC.  Much more efficient than mining for me Smiley

You'll have a different opinion when those CPA companies start flooding your email with thousands of other offers ROFL

Not only should you be able to unsubscribe from all of them (they should all be CAN-SPAM compliant), but also nobody is forcing you to use your primary email address.

There are many others in the same boat.  Seems like whoever runs MyBitcoin has disappeared.  Sad

UPDATE: No response on the messaging system from my inquiry. Time to start an official investigation.

First I'll use the PO box and supposed name of the spokesperson for the site and see if I can't find any public records that might match.

This might end in me flying to West Indies, but we might find out the owner is dead. Does anyone else ever think of these things?

Please continue to update us on your findings.  Certainly seems like it's a one man operation and the owner is AWOL.

I'm also waiting for a response about some missing bitcoins..a small amount, but I'd rather get them back than let them disappear into the void Cheesy

Umm...I was simply pointing out that it would indeed be different than "any other country," as a reaction to your statement suggesting that the Chinese government's actions would be equal to that of any other country's government.

Anyway, I'm also interested to hear about Nefario's experiences. Smiley

I understand that animosities from the Chinese government may occur and would be harsh in any way. But so would be any other communist country that already censors the internet and the press's attempted crackdown.

Fixed that for you.

Also I suggest you read about Wu Ying for an example of why China isn't the best place for an entrepreneur:

18  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Someone is flooding twitter with bitcoin statuses on: July 14, 2011, 08:30:17 AM
They often have embedded php 'images', too small to see. When you load the email, you call the php page with your email as a variable. This shows that the email address is active, and that the person who owns the email opens stuff from random people. This makes the address very valuable. They can then send their first waves of real spam to that address knowing that it will have the maximum effect at good addresses before it starts getting filtered. It also makes their lists more valuable for sale.

This is why places like google block images by default -- they can be used against you.

But that is only some of them. I'm pretty sure I've gotten those random emails without an embedded image too. No idea what the purpose is. To check if it bounces?

Good info, thanks!

Email spam..such a noble profession Roll Eyes

Any examples of games you've made before? Any ideas for games for the system?
20  Economy / Marketplace / MyBitcoin Support - Does it exist? on: July 14, 2011, 06:46:44 AM
So...

Has anybody actually communicated with MyBitcoin support recently?

I was paying a merchant who used MyBitcoin and I accidentally sent a different number than MyBitcoin was expecting.  Apparently MyBitcoin's default behavior in this scenario is to keep the money.

Obviously I screwed up, but I don't understand why they wouldn't automatically return incorrect payments or at least give them to the merchant to deal with.  Seems like a major flaw to me, as I'm sure I'm not the first idiot to have done this  Wink

I used the messaging system to contact support, but I haven't heard back for quite some time.
