221  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: About Merit on: July 25, 2019, 10:00:11 AM
First, you are breaking this forum rules by asking for merit and secondly merit is a brilliant solution to reduce spamming rate on this forum, if you want merit that badly you should consider making good posts on this forum, for example ,posts about crypto that other members can benefit from or spread a news about a quality content people aren't aware of

Haha, that's rich, coming from a cheater like you...

Nothing wrong with this thread, though I do think it's in the wrong board and some people do find these kinds of threads annoying.
But like I said, it's not against forum rules, since OP is not asking for merit.

OP, if you're still reading replies, I'm not going to lie, it's often pretty hard for new members to get enough merits to rank up.
Though that doesn't mean it's impossible. You basically just have to keep writing thoughtful and helpful replies.

Don't write these short one-liner answers, really go in-depth and try to help people out.
222  Other / Meta / Re: How do you actually find messages that were deleted? on: July 25, 2019, 09:47:57 AM
Still, I'm curious if there are other ways to find deleted posts, aside from the websites I've mentioned here.
Or if it's possible to view Google Cache history perhaps?
Most of the guys uses Google to find plagiarized posts but for me it looks extremely hard to but asked some guys personally they said google is the best.

But the regular users may use their own personal scripts to find it.

Yeah, Google cache sometimes works, since pages get indexed pretty slowly. Though it doesn't work for older posts.

Most of the time plagiarised posts aren't deleted. It's actually better to keep them as proof. Sometimes they can still be found in the report queue as well.

The report queue isn't publicly accessible, right? Pretty sure it isn't, just asking in case there are in fact public logs available.

Still keeping this thread up for a little while, since other people might have different effective means of getting deleted messages.

On a side note, I wonder if it's easy to set up your own archive of Bitcointalk akin to how Waybackmachine works. I reckon it wouldn't actually take up that much space (I mean everyone has a couple of TB disk space these days)
223  Other / Meta / Re: How do you actually find messages that were deleted? on: July 25, 2019, 09:04:59 AM
Aha, yes that would indeed make a lot of sense, since they're able to directly quote the posts.
Should have known it was something as obvious as this...

Still, I'm curious if there are other ways to find deleted posts, aside from the websites I've mentioned here.
Or if it's possible to view Google Cache history perhaps?
224  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Autonomous charity on: July 25, 2019, 09:00:39 AM
Hi Fellows,
I'm planning to build an local online charity where people can vote for the case their money should be spent. I'm going to build it using Ethereum smart contracts & Solidity, so it can continue to work autonomously.
Would you please sharing your thoughts on that? Introducing similar services(if any)? Or your useful suggestions on how to improve its functionality/features.
As a side question: Do you think building it on Bitcoin infrastructure would generate any advantages?
- Why do you want to get into the entire ETH and Smart Contracts complication? Just create a bitcoin address where your local bitcoin holders can donate in bitcoin? The money coming on the address and the money being distributed to the charity can be tracked easily on the block explorer.

That seems much simpler indeed and if OP wants to add another layer of trust, they could also work with a multisig address where he adds another trusted party, which would be needed to actually spend funds.
Heck, wouldn't it even be possible to automatically spend the funds from the one address in OP's control to different charities? Maybe even tie those mechanics to a public poll?

I know that's already complicating it, but I suspect it wouldn't be that hard to write a script like that. (could be completely wrong of course, I'm just spitballing ideas here)
225  Other / Meta / How do you actually find messages that were deleted? on: July 25, 2019, 08:52:19 AM
Every time I look at one of those ban appeal threads, I see that some members are able to retrieve old posts, usually to prove cases of plagiarism.
I've often wondered how it's possible to retrieve these messages, because I've tried to use multiple services, usually without any luck.

web.archive.org - Usually doesn't have all the pages indexed
Archive.is - Doesn't have all the topics/pages indexed
Google Cache - Doesn't offer a history feature, but this sometimes does bring up deleted posts

Am I missing something really obvious here? Or is there already a thread that explains how people are able to retrieve these old, deleted messages?
226  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Does the fall of the price of bitcoin will affect another projects? on: July 25, 2019, 08:22:05 AM
Well, currently it's certainly the case that Bitcoin's price has a rather large effect on the prices of other coins.
That said, this might not always be the case in the future. It's certainly possible that another coin, like ETH for example, takes over Bitcoin's position as main trading pair to other cryptocurrencies.

Quite a lot of exchanges are already using other coins as main trading pairs, but Bitcoin is still very much dominating in that regard.
227  Other / Meta / Re: [POLL] The Official Troll Poll: Vote for Bitcointalk's Biggest Troll! on: July 24, 2019, 08:31:50 PM
I'd suggest Game-protect too, but I really don't think he's a troll so that would be a hard NO from me.

I do have another suggestion though, he isn't that active anymore, but every topic I've seen from him just screamed 'troll'.

228  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: E-Commerce, Fiat to BTC on: July 24, 2019, 08:27:24 PM

The OP clearly wants to receive Fiat and have it converted directly to Bitcoin. That's pretty obvious by the first post. BitPay or Coinbase will not help with this.

Yes, indeed you will not be able to directly convert every fiat payment to Bitcoin, but you can have your bank account send a fixed amount to Coinbase whenever you want.
You set up a regular bank account and get automated payments directed to Coinbase (they have an option for this)

I know it's an ugly workaround, but perhaps it's enough for OP's needs.
229  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Crypto Influencers Needed (Attractive Pay In Coin Of Choice) on: July 24, 2019, 08:04:50 PM
Always willing to write a promotional op-ed, but only if the project personally interests me.
I currently have around 1000 followers on Steemit and have had quite a few satisfied customers already.

I tend to focus a lot on getting my articles to rank high on Google and other search engines, I'm more than willing to implement your preferred keyword strategies into my articles and create valuable back-links for you.

Prices can be negotiated, just send me a pm!
230  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Selling bitcoin from neteller on: July 24, 2019, 09:37:58 AM
The bitcoins you deposit there will become USD/EUR. It's not possible to withdraw them from the ATM. You can only send them to other individuals.

If you are referring to the ability to buy and sell there, I don't think there is a possibility of withdrawing, at least not yet.

Avoid to deal with Skrill/Neteller when it comes to crypto, at least not directly with them. Use third party services like BitPanda or trade with other individuals.

Completely correct, they're only handy when you want to use Bitcoin to pay on websites that only accept Neteller for example.
Other than that, they indeed do not allow withdraws of Bitcoin and you can also not use your Bitcoin balance with their Mastercard.

Other than that, they're pretty reliable, I don't agree at all with Slow death saying that they're unreliable.
Once you are verified, you will not have any issues with them.
231  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Libra – The Good, The Bad & The Ugly on: July 24, 2019, 09:22:59 AM
Great job on presenting all the information like this!
It's definitely interesting to see that they will need to tie people's real-world identity to accounts, especially since it's Facebook we're talking about.

I mean, even Paypal doesn't require you to give up your government issued ID for accounts with low limits.
I'm guessing this will be something that's going to stop many people from using Libra.
232  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Discussion] The International 2019: Dota 2 World Championship on: July 24, 2019, 09:14:13 AM
Dota 2 used to be famous a few years ago but I don't know if it is the case anymore now as its popularity has dropped.I remember when people used to play all the time back then and there were many fans watching. It should be a beautiful event this one although I doubt the followers will be numerous as they used to be a few years ago.

It's still very popular around the world, I mean just look at the crowds those events draw and the absolutely massive prize pool.
I'm betting on Team Secret to win this one, they've really shown that they're capable of winning after the KL Major.
233  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Autonomous charity on: July 23, 2019, 08:36:10 PM
Uhum...
Thank you for your feedback. Its interesting that Trust is the major challenge I'm being warned about, either here or face to face discussions. If things continue to go as its been until now, I guess I should stop working on it.

It doesn't mean that you should stop working on it, you should just change your scope IMO.
You don't need to make things needlessly complicated just for the sake of it.

Look, wanting to get more money to charities is a good thing and if you're really passionate about that, then make it work somehow.
Why not launch a project where you promote different charities, while giving visitors the chance to donate directly to those charities?

The end goal is to get more funds to charities right? Then make that happen!
234  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Exchanges are not recommended. on: July 23, 2019, 09:37:49 AM
I'll probably never use Yobit again, not because I've personally had any issues with them, but a lot of other people have.
Like, they're often de-listing coins and do not give you an option to withdraw them in time.

Another exchange I probably won't use again is crypto.com, their trade limits are just way too strict.
Now I have a bit of fiat money on there that I can't even use for trading, because the buy limit of all coins on there is too high.
235  Other / Off-topic / Re: Funny Story of BITCOIN in Images on: July 23, 2019, 09:28:16 AM
And here we have it, this is exactly the reason why I don't browse cryptocurrency-related subreddits anymore.
You're free to make a post like this, but to me most of these memes have been re-posted so much that they're all but funny.

Also, I really don't see what was ever funny about that last one.
236  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Solar Powered Bitcoin Lottery on: July 23, 2019, 08:36:59 AM
The odds to find a block with a usb miner are really low, you will spend hardware and time for nothing... You have better odds to win the big prize with the local lottery than to find a block, so, better invest that money and time buying lottery tickets, if you get the big price then you could buy a true mining farm  Wink

And with the Bitcoin block halving, it makes it more difficult to say the least,  I guess with a lower cost and easy set with USB mining, it will be fun and at least you learn how everything works in the background. But if you are looking for profitability, I don't think that this is the way to go.

The thing is though, is there really that much to learn from trying to solo mine with a miner like that?
I mean, you'll never get any results from it, even before the halving happens, the chances of finding a block are astronomically small.

Now, if you could hook up a bunch of these solar miners in an array to mine from a regular pool, you might be able to earn something at least.
So, you at least see some results.
237  Other / Meta / Re: Banned, without any reason whatsoever. Help! on: July 22, 2019, 09:27:33 AM
That's not plagarism lol I quoted the article then commented on it. I have missed the closing " on the quote, but if you guys play a closer look you will see this is the case.

Now that you know the reason for the ban, can you admit now that those are copy-pasted? Or are you still going to defend the the other two comments presented by @dikul and @asu ?

Yes, I do  admit that I quoted articles, didn't know it was such big deal and forbidden to comment on articles. I was not aware of that, neither did I get a warning. Banning me right away is way too harsh and unfair.  Huh Undecided Wrote many times to the appeal email no answer whatsoever. I wouldn't argue if I was spamming on PM, but come on, this punishment is  exaggerated.

Dude, quit lying. That first example clearly showed plagiarism with malicious intent.

The reason for the ban - plagiarism:

Since July long term chart was showing downtrend which looking to be reversed. That was not something to be worried about because decline in its price was anyway because this is one of the very few markets where people hedged against the volatility. This has defined its future direction with long lasting overall positive performance. NEM looks ready to start new rally upon confirming of stability in market as whole.

That's not a case of quoting someone, you've just copied another member's post and changed the coin mentioned in that member's post.
The ban is completely justified, you're not in some sort of gray area at all.
238  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Help in creating marketplace, such as Amazon but with crypto payments only on: July 22, 2019, 08:40:15 AM
Look, sometimes you might be able to find someone who will help you develop your project for free, but I don't think this particular project is enticing enough for that.
If I was a developer and took a look at the websites you currently have, I'd be pretty wary to help you.

I mean look at this particular text on your cryptohermes.store website:

Quote
Planet Earth is very huge territory with many countries and regions in which payments with cryptocurrency is more usable if your country for example unable to get foreign payments or transactions with some system ain't supported on your territory - cryptocurrency is a way out because of their decentralization nature! And as we are thinking, simple people mustn't be engaged into the political confusion.

Also one more good idea to sell something - it's investing into cryptocurrency! You can sell everything you want, get your cryptocurrency from deal - then start trade or just hold for future gain:)

I know what you're trying to say, but the way it's presented is not all too great honestly.

Your first sentence is way too long and convoluted. You don't use any sort of punctuation to break it down.
Then there's the content, it reads as some sort of ideological pamphlet.

Work on your presentation first!
239  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto "echo chambers" on: July 22, 2019, 08:30:23 AM
You're absolutely right and I've noticed this as well. Not only within discussion boards of particular coins, mind you.
If you look at some of the more general Reddit cryptocurrency communities, you can clearly see that there's some kind of hive-mind at work.

/r/cryptocurrency is a great example of that, they clearly have their favourites and any straying away from those favourites is instantly met with downvotes or negative commentary.
240  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Hell how people here cannot know this simple facts damn easy on: July 19, 2019, 01:14:45 PM
For all the talk about "dumb people" in your post, you don't really seem to explain your case all too smartly yourself.
Just saying...

I've read it 3 times and I still don't fully understand what you're on about.

and remember that all what i write  is HARD CORE REALITY FACTS AND NOTHING MORE, compare to all the fiction going here like satoshi is one person or the founder of bitcoin sv if satoshi or hel finney and other fictions... Cool

sum it again

1. bitcoin operation come from people and no one person.

2. wiki leaks operation million time bigger then bitcoin and when journalist get info from them they receive it under one name which ironaclly this name dont lead no where ...its done with other underground projects which you even dont know which also come under one name yet behind this name is nothing hhhh

3.  after bitcoin explode soon from no where yes from no where come team called *cicada 3301* which search people skilled in cryptograhpy and have huge sharp logic!!!

rather the bullshit you spread and other here like conspiracy theories  or its one man behind bitcoin.

dont forget paypal and others was ban wiki leaks from get donations which in this point some people start to understand there are something very fishy to ban website like wiki leaks that expose all the shit happen here which ironically needed to be exposed by agents all around the world yet its done by underground people which are to much smart  compare to the main stream.

Daphne Caruana Galizia was killed in very short time for exposing hell of shit, she receive the info under weird name which lead no where.

operations like bitcoin and wiki leaks and cicada 3301 runs by global team its cannot be the other way.

do you know how much people around the world try to trace the minds behind wiki leaks and cicada 3301 and they get to nothing,

do you know the minds behind of wiki leaks meet each other and they move under different names around the world.

people like mark zuckerberg  or even top agents from all countries only will dream to be part of this kind operations as wiki leaks its the biggest leaks done in the entire history.

and agents dont have the skills to get to this kind of info and they fucking army of people backed by shitty salaries which spy on each other like clowns and in reality they are dumbes in alot of verticals and simple things dont know(lack of sharp logic),

compare to the people behind bitcoin and cicada and wiki leaks and others which most of this people know to make* huge amount of money and do things which in movies dont exist and never will exist in movies....just look on wiki leaks* operation , this minds can leak everything about the FBI, for example as they leaked info which the fbi dont know how to get to it hhhhhh, people killed in this kind of operations like journalist.

cicada 3301 ** the biggest operation in the entire history searching people with huge sharp logic. they went viral forever.

bitcoin operation the biggest in the entire history also disrupt industry of more then 25 trillion dollars and put out the governmnets and banks and other shit of this game forever,

HARD CORE REALITY FACTS! rather then fictions

So, you claim to present your views here as facts, yet you do not even provide any sources for what you write here.
It's basically one long ramble, consisting of references to Wikileaks and cicada 3301, where you try to "prove" that cicada 3301 is behind the creation of Bitcoin. (Oh boy, why am I even engaging)

Sorry, but 99% of the people who read your post(s) will come to the logical conclusion that you're probably mentally insane or have taken too much drugs.
Of course, you won't believe that and think you're the smartest person alive who's got it all figured out, right?

It's not even improbable that Bitcoin was created by just one person. Heck, someone like Nick Szabo or Hal Finney could have created Bitcoin all by themselves.
Or, even if you do want to believe it was done by a team of people (like Dan Kaminsky is also suggesting), that doesn't mean it's done by a group like Cicada.

Not everything is a massive worldwide conspiracy, you know... It would be entirely logical that the creator(s) of Bitcoin would have wanted to keep themselves anonymous, which doesn't mean that they have any sort of bad intentions with it.
