Kita mulai dengan pertemuan dengan Agan2 yang tertarik dan ikutan diskusi biar makin ramai dan beberapa minggu ke depan kita bisa bikin Asosiasi terdaftar dan legal seperti di Malaysia yang dimulai dari grup diskusi macam ini.
Kemudian kita bikin website, lalu kerjasama dengan institusi pendidikan dan ngasi workshop serta seminar.

XEM adalah token untuk NEM (seperti koin-koin kripto lainnya). Nama XEM diambil dari konversi mata uang-ke-simbol untuk mata uang virtual dimulai dari huruf "X" (seperti XAU - Emas, XBT - Bitcoin, Dll.) . XEM mempunyai "nilai" ke pemakainya karena:
a) XEM mewakili ekosistem NEM yang dimana ia menghargai "nilai" bersamaan dengan daya tarik NEM.
b) XEM diperlukan untuk membayar biaya transaksi agan (yang mana akan didistribusikan ke "harvesters" -nama miners di NEM). Ketika agan membuat koin agan sendiri melalui NEM (token baru agan, atau token yg mewakili kepemilikan dari suatu barang nyata, atau koin apapun yg agan mau) sejumlah biaya untuk membuat koin/token (membuat "Mosaic" -fitur dari NEM, bisa dibaca disini) itu akan dibayar dalam bentuk XEM. Selanjutnya, transaksi ke Mosaic-mosaic lainnya membutuhkan biaya transaksi dalam bentuk XEM - untuk membiayai berjalannya jaringan NEM tadi.
XEM punya kegunaan, sehingga punya "nilai".

XEM is the native cryptocurrency token of the NEM blockchain. The name XEM was chosen to fit into the currency-symbol convention for non-fiat currencies starting with letter "X" (like XAU - Gold, XBT - Bitcoin, etc.).
XEM has a value to the community as it
a) represents a stake in the NEM ecosystem which appreciates value alongside with NEM's traction
b) is required to pay transaction fees (which are distributed to the "harvesters" - the miners who run NEM nodes)
When you issue your own Cryptocurrency (or token of value, or token representing ownership of real-world-items, or whatever you can imagine) a small fee for creating the token (creating the "NEM Mosaic") has to be paid in XEM.
Further, transactions in other Mosaics (currencies) require transaction fees in XEM currency - in order to finance the running of the NEM network.
XEM has utility. Thus it has value.

Oke akan ane jawab secara detail ya gan:

1. Apakah nem atau xem open source?
Ya, NEM/XEM itu open source gan, dan membuat koin sendiri itu salah satu fitur yang sudah tersedia di NEM. NEM punya banyak lagi kegunaan, seperti multisig contract (ada dibahas di thread ini diatas), yang membolehkan pengguna untuk mengontrol ataupun memindahkan akun pengguna kalau diperlukan. NEM adalah salah satu dari teknologi blockchain terbaik gan -untuk teknologi blockchain tanpa smart contracts- . Untuk smart contract, NEM melakukannya dengan centralised smart contract/smart contract terpusat (transaksinya diluar blockchain).

2. Apakah di NEM kita bisa membuat koin sendiri dengan teknologinya?
Ya, dan itu mudah sekali gan, dengan menggunakan namespace dan mosaic. Baca selengkapnya disini. Namespace adalah nama seseorang/akun yang punya hak untuk mengeluarkan koinnya sendiri (nama fiturnya "Mosaic"). Pemilik namespace bisa mengeluarkan koin sebanyak apapun yg mereka mau. Kurang lebih namespace itu seperti nama perusahaan gan di dunia blockchain.

Iya, kelihatannya 9 milyar koin itu emang banyak gan, tapi NEM mendistibusikannya secara adil dan menyeluruh, maksudnya disini, para developernya bekerja sedemikian rupa sehingga ngga ada yang bisa memanipulasi pasar NEM. Nah, jadi wajar saja kalau NEM punya “banyak” koin.



NEM ga akan mati gan. NEM sekarang punya 4 orang developer full-time yang kerja hanya untuk NEM, dan banyak lagi developer-developer lain sebagai tim marketing NEM yang kerja paruh waktu. Ga banyak altcoin yang lain bisa bilang kyk gini, kebanyakan koin2 lain cuma punya 1 developer sama 1 marketer, gitu gan.
 
Dan lagi, bedanya NEM sama altcoin-altcoin yang lain, koin NEM (XEM) sendiri bukanlah daya tarik utamanya gan. Tapi, manfaat dan kegunaannya ke industri blockchain-lah yang menjadi daya tariknya. Dan XEM itu diperlukan untuk mengoperasikan blockchain tadi. Jadi, focus utamanya bukan membuat mata uang virtual saja, melainkan “membangun” platform blockchain, dan nantinya NEM akan jadi “berharga”/ punya value-nya sendiri, begitu gan.  

Tambahan lagi : ane Rene gan, dari organisasi nirlaba(non-profit) NEM Malaysia. Agan-agan sekalian silahkan kontak aja ane kalo mau tau lebih banyak tentang NEM, biar komunitas NEM di Indonesia makin luas gan!.

I tried the system and it works pretty well. 
Figured out how to do apostille file notarization and now I'm playing with the 1of1 asset (=account) transfer thing. I paid XEM 14.00 for it which equals USD 0.05 for the notarization.

The "hex" message is the hash of the file which the Nano Wallet created.

BTW: That NANO WALLET (downloaded the ZIP from https://nanowallet.nem.io/ and ran it locally) is not 100% self-explanatory.
It could have some kind of mouse-over instructions or info at least? @devs... 

Just to update this.
I had a friend from USA call them and email them - they didn't get back in touch but anyhow voilà I received an email with a tracking code. 2 weeks after placing the order and being afraid what's going on.
I don't understand why they don't communicate, but let's hope they do deliver.

I placed an order (no.4462) and paid 1.2852 BTC  3/JUN and never heard anything from them after. I sent them 3 emails, one from another mail address to circumvent any possibly rigid spamfilter,
No reply to emails nor to my phone calls to 1-408-646-8452 (phone mailbox message: "this mailbox is full")

I placed an order for a 5MH contract with http://cloudmining.hash-master.com, too - but luckily due to a order processing mistake I didn't reach the step to pay.
 

Any experiences?

There are bright hackers among us here, if anyone found the real life name and address of Mr Ukyo we could address him with legal claim no? In worst case confront him personally with the matter.
I am closely cooperating with a lawyer specialized in business law and debt collection... Even a private investigator might be useful to collectively hire at this point?
We shouldn't threat with any force of course - but this guy should give the community the respect and support in the same way we all respected him.

Bitcoin an Orwell or Government experiment...? Nooooo...
But anyhow who needs Mixing services - has the choice to do so, who needs traceble transactions - has the choice to do so and be in the blockchain forever with his particular transaction.

But isn't the Bitcoin environment is a wonderful playground for University Micro- and Macro-Economics professors to do different kinds of studies about market behaviour, pricing theory (here: exch.rates), fraud risks and assessments, dont you think?
And so far as the Bitcoin world itself is unregulated such a field study could be really giving interesting outputs...

The pricing "bubble" (    ) we are going through these days and the opinions of users here at Bitcointalk are a very nice study object too.
I am quite disappointed I have a daytime job and can't fully follow this economics more deeply at the moment.

Anyhow it's a great thing we are going through.  Am glad that I was born into the late 20th century!
Remember: as long as it doesn't impact your health, your love, your family - it's just economics, just money, just Bitcoins.    So let the experiment rise to become a true living environment.
