I discovered the thread by looking for information for Qora. Does the project still have anything to do with the Qora or is it a completely unrelated project? I still have some Qora token and wonder if I can do anything with it in this project.
It is related, but your Qora will be of no value in Qortal. Many Qortal users were part of Qora, myself included. |

Level does not matter, you'll only require some QORT to register your name and you'll be all set. |

ANNouncement - new Qortal Core and Qortal UI versions released officially and auto-update for core to 1.5.5 approved! (UI changes to auto-update discussed below) As mentioned above... there are new versions of both the Qortal Core and the Qortal UI that have been released! You can always check on https://qortal.org for the latest links (I will update the OP as well shortly.).
A few things to make note of...
1. The new UI will NOT auto-update for the time being... we have made a bunch of changes to the UI, including the way the UI auto-updates. So for the current time, only the Qortal Core will auto-update. You will need to update the UI MANUALLY by downloading the installer for your OS and performing the update... until we work out the UI auto-updates and re-enable them.
2. The Qortal Core will always auto-update via a group-signed transaction by the on-chain developer group. That will continue.
3. You may notice the development 'speed' will be picking up here in the near future on both the Core and the UI... this is because of some awesome new contributors who are now helping with the project. We are forever grateful to these new contributors! Any other developers who would like to assist us are always welcome! Remember QORTAL IS A COMPLETELY COMMUNITY-DEVELOPED AND RUN PROJECT AND ANYONE IS FREE TO CONTRIBUTE IN ANY WAY THEY CAN!

He is correct Crowetic, the Qortal website shows <meta name='robots' content='noindex, nofollow' /> in the source. This means you are telling search engines not to index the website. Simple fix. In Wordpress admin, under Settings > Reading, make sure "Search engine visibility - Discourage search engines from indexing this site" is not checked |

I watched the webinar from February 5th and I installed Core and UI on my Windows 8pm last night. However, it is STILL synchronizing and it is at 21% and I kept my laptop on ALL night. Why is it taking so long to synch? I am unable to post in Q-chat and last night I signed up for Discord https://discord.com/channels/@me/807806308375855116 but no one has responded to my posts yet. Could someone tell me WHY it's taking so long to synchronize? At this rate, I may have to leave my laptop on 24/7 for the next month. I looked at Task Manager is Qortal is using up over 70% of CPU and Memory and I'm not even minting. The founder says qortal is a decentralized trading platform.
But I would like to say this: qortal does not give the private keys of btc and ltc of trade portals to users to keep freely.
How can users withdraw their btc or ltc assets if a major accident occurs on qortal one day and the project cannot proceed?
So I think it is really decentralized only if you give control of the private key of btc or ltc to the user.
In this way, when there is a major accident in qortal, they can import the private key of btc or ltc into another wallet to retrieve their assets
Please do some research or ask the Qortal community regarding items like this before you post half truths. The fact that is, if Qortal had an issue, you would still be able to access your BTC and LTC. Presently, you are 1/2 correct, there is no built in functionality to export your BTC or LTC keys. However, please see Crowetic's statements.
