[Release Notes for Version 0.14.6.3]
In the world's first application of the SOW (POS + POO + POW combination) algorithm, a staking bug was discovered and fixed.
Please upgrade to version 0.14.6.3 for stable staking.
It is necessary to reset the blocks according to the rules modified at the first run after the upgrade. A window appears asking, " Do you want to rebuild the block database now? "
If you press [OK], the block reset operation will start and this operation will take more than 30 minutes. (Depending on the computer's specifications, please do not turn off the computer until the operation is completed)
If you find that some funds have disappeared after the upgrade, you'll need to do the following:

Proof Of Online - Solution for BWA(Block Withholding Attack)- Proof Of Online is used as a supplement to the Block Withholding Attack (BWA), a type of 51% attack on the block chain.
- BWA (Block Withholding Attack) is a process that creates a longer malicious block in the off-line state and then invalidates the normal transaction.
- All PoW-based coins, including Bitcoin, are potentially at risk and therefore suggest a way to fundamentally block off-line block generation.
[Contents of technology]- The height % n == 0 block of the block chain (eg, every xxx00, xxx10, xxx20, ..., xxx90 when n = 10) is called a PoO block.
- Always include a signature signed by a particular signer, and the signature information is recorded by adding a VchBlockSig field to the header.
- A particular signer is an account owned by a foundation or organization that initially designs the block chain or operates the block chain, and is called a verifier.
- They sign the PoO block with the private key of the public address to provide that the block is synchronized to the network.
- All other nodes accept the block by confirming that the PoO block has been signed with the public address of the foundation.
- A node with a public key of a verifier is called a verifier node to distinguish it from an ordinary mining node.
- It records the verifier public key list operated by the Foundation like the SeedNode operation method in the program source, and the block addition operation for online certification grants authority only to the verifier node.
- With this logic, an attacker can only have fewer than the number of blocks defined by %n, so even if he seizes the network hash power, he can not get enough time to do a malicious double spending attack.
- The miners of all blocks can be identified as the corresponding block with the seed node operated by the foundation.
- For this reason, the name of this algorithm is called Proof Of Online.
[The way of operation]- In order to minimize the repulsion of existing miners, mining compensation for PoO block is limited to the commission of the transaction and the appropriate n value is set.
- In the case where all of the verifier nodes stop operating, if the block time is more than twice the normal block time, the nth block will also enable mining of general miners.
- If a verifier node is added or a transfer of authority is required, it is approved by a co-signature of more than a majority of verifiers, and the new verified verifier is managed in the client's internal database of each node

The Bitcoin price rose by nearly 5% overnight on Sunday to touch the $7700 level after having had a relatively quiet Sunday trading between the $7400 and $7500 mark. This unexplained boost could probably be due to more investors taking their money out of other crypto currencies and sliding them into the top cryptocurrency. At 9 am CEST on Bitfinex, the Bitcoin price was trading at around $7660 – a rise of 4%. Other coins were still relatively at low levels however with Ethereum trading at around $466 – a mere 1% increase whilst Ripple and Litecoin remained relatively stable in the $0.46 and $86 levels respectively. According to analysts, it could mean that a bullish forecast is on the way for bitcoin price. A sell-off could trigger the opposite direction although the considerable increase in volume which almost touched the $1 billion mark across all exchanges, could see that scenario dissipate quite quickly. However, if the current momentum continues, one should expect the 55-period-EMA to cross the short-term averages once more, creating another potential bullish setup as it edges closer toward its next psychological target of $8,000. If that target is breached then the price could go all the way to the $10,000 level in a very short space of time and potentially drag other coins with it. Currencies which had seen consistent gains over the past week also performed well over the weekend and on Monday. Stellar Lumens rose by around 8% on Sunday and by a further 4% on Monday to trade at over the $0.30 level whilst Cardano also rose by around 7% to reach the $0.18 mark. NEO was still slightly sluggish and only posted a minimal 1% increase over the previous 24 hours to settle at around $34. Litecoin was also up by around 3% to settle at the $85 level with a push for the $90 level not untoward if the current levels of turnover persist. Ethereum Classic was sluggish with a 2% rise to settle at the $16.60 level whilst VEN and ONT remained relatively stable in the $1.83 and $3.23. It's not an optimal situation. The solo miner appears to be running an L3 at a priibable healthy margin. The site is well suited for CPU mining but the L3 ASICs outcompete the CPUs. Bad for QCT as the network can go down at any time. When QCT is listed, the sole miner will need to compete. For right now, if you try to mine it, he adds more L3s to squeeze you out. He even will mine at a loss to dominate. I believe QCT should change algorithms to enable broader mining. If the QCity developer finds that a solo miner is ok, perhaps they should change to a masternode system. Many of the advantages of a block chain are negated by the current situation. Many people are asking the mining pool to add a port with a higher level of difficulty.
But, due to the eco-mining algorithm, high difficulty can be inefficient.
Our test results showed that the gpu mining also had the highest efficiency difficulty of 8.

My ASIC miner is always showing error (diff too high).. maybe QCT is using N-Scrypt Algo like Garlicoin and only can be mined by using GPU/CPU Qcity algo has min-time limit to avoid 'garbage block'. Mining minimum time is '20 sec'. Maybe that's the reason. I will discuss the results with our development team. |
