Things are heating up in the world...

Related to the Christian Treasure Trove - and the idea to archive 'non copyrighted and authorized for duplication by permission of the channel' videos, youtube has recently decided they reserve the right to delete ALL ACCOUNTS that are not commercially viable starting on Dec 10th!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tpSfgPONlZk

This is pretty big news, and will cattle prod us to move to the next step with DSQL soon.

I feel this actually might be one of the places BiblePay will shine in the end-times - by providing an alternate source for Christian content, and archived content.

So next priorities are:  POBH 2.0 in alpha for review by our IT team (and any GPU experts), PODC 2.0 fixes in testnet, then modifying DSQL to be SEO compatible with URLs, then creating the TT archive ability.

Your understanding is being reported in the news lately, but that's not my understanding of the new terms of service.

https://twitter.com/TeamYouTube/status/1193975620755001344

To clarify, there are no new rights in our ToS to terminate an account bc it’s not making money. As before, we may discontinue certain YouTube features or parts of the service, for ex., if they're outdated or have low usage. This does not impact creators/viewers in any new ways.

They've always been able to limit anyone's account for any reason they want nothing new

Can anyone point me to the best/most up to date guide for creating a sanctuary and are we able to run multiple sanctuaries on one machine now? Thanks.

So if you are all wondering what the devs are working on -- I'm working on a new BiblePay miner.

Just to explain the situation a little more, a year ago when people asked me about possibly separating the miner program from the core wallet, I didnt really like the idea because I felt we would be on track for continually modifying the mining algo to be impossible to run outside the core.  However, I feel that our POBH algorithm has matured to the point where its no longer changing - so as to reduce the risk of someone trying to port it to GPU or ASIC, I feel this is a good time for us to make the move - to make a standalone miner - and give any new devs out there the chance to enhance POBH.  This will also allow us to add stratum support and standardize our pool to be p2p/stratum compatible.  The bbp-miner.exe must be outside of the wallet primarily to fulfill the stratum protocol request (as putting stratum inside the core wallet violates the code of conduct for exchanges).

So, I decided to go ahead and start creating a bbp-miner.exe, and at the very least we will test its performance with solo mining.  Then if it offers an edge over the core wallet, we will then look into making our pool(s) stratum compatible and standardizing the miner to be a code-branch, the pool to be a branch of p2pool, etc, to be compatible with the bitcoin and dash specs in the latest evo code base (for future maintenance).  This part is also important so that we can attract more blockchain devs to the project and to allow us to clean up legacy code and be more fast/lean.

So far, I have ported the KJV bible into bbp-miner.exe, a cross-platform C program, using the AES256, base64, SHA256, X11, MD5 and our getblocktemplate rules.  The miner will work on all platforms, of course.

I'll let you all know as soon as a I have a working solo miner, so we can test it.  If its performance is worthy, then we will move on to making the pool compatible with dash and bitcoin, etc (with p2pool) and stratum.

This sounds good. How does it work with all the ABN weight stuff? I haven't mined since PODC so I'm not exactly sure I am up to date on how it all works right now

P2PB2B just another fake volume exchange getting exchanges doesn't increase value better off getting the word out there using ads or something else than to pay another big listing fee

so jw if half the POG rewards that now go to POOM are basically burned coins until we reach peak POOM? or if there are only a few peopling using POOM do the coins go back to POG?

My abnweight is currently at 6112 so that'll be awhile...

Yeah, I can see (sort of for the most part) whats going on now - you have 6K coin age total.
The ROI shows you would make -60% ROI on a 2bbp tithe.

Yesterdays contract had about 6B coin*age in it.  So divided by 30 participants you have roughly 200MM or so coin*age going in per participant (roughly, I realize some are much more than others).

What this does is makes it unprofitable to send a tithe unless you have at least about 30,000 ABN weight.  If you had 35K weight you would see something like a 25% or so ROI on the 2bbp tithe.

So, eventually we can put in a break-even output in the exec roi.  And it would be nice to stop the tithe automatically in the miner when it will theoretically result in a loss for the user - that would be real nice also.

I don't have any other suggestions right now other than saving up more coin age.  I can't think of any real world modification to the algorithm other than adding the safeguards etc.  As we already only reward non-sanc free bbp.    If you have any ideas for that please let us know.  I agree, it would be nice to be able to reward the smaller users no matter how low the coin*age is, but that opens up doors for mickey mouse games and squirrely rules etc.

Simply stopping the tithe until enough age is saved up to surpass a low ROI threshhold would be a pretty good way to fix the lions share of it.

Can we get exec roi to work on current points in the system and not the previous day?

5.  So another benefit in POOM integration is it gives Fiat buyers an additional tax-deductible way to invest in BBP without going through an exchange; and it also decreases our monthly net sales pressure from coin emissions (as less rewards will be sold on the exchange for electricity/mining and instead be repaid for orphan expenses).  Its also good in the sense that it increases our real world utility.

I am not a tax professional or a US citizen but the issue has been mentioned else where and I decided to look for myself so I found this

Use CTRL+F search for "Contributions From Which You Benefit"

"If you receive a benefit as a result of making a contribution to a qualified organization, you can deduct only the amount of your contribution that is more than the value of the benefit you receive. Also see Contributions From Which You Benefit under Contributions You Can't Deduct, later.

If you pay more than fair market value to a qualified organization for goods or services, the excess may be a charitable contribution. For the excess amount to qualify, you must pay it with the intent to make a charitable contribution.

Example 1.

You pay $65 for a ticket to a dinner dance at a church. Your entire $65 payment goes to the church. The ticket to the dinner dance has a fair market value of $25. When you buy your ticket, you know its value is less than your payment. To figure the amount of your charitable contribution, subtract the value of the benefit you receive ($25) from your total payment ($65). You can deduct $40 as a charitable contribution to the church.

Example 2.

At a fundraising auction conducted by a charity, you pay $600 for a week's stay at a beach house. The amount you pay is no more than the fair rental value. You haven't made a deductible charitable contribution."

when POOM is taking 50% of GSC lets say there is only 1 participant do they get 100% of that 50%? Or how does the reward work?

i made more bbp with pog in 1 month than i did in over 1 year with mining and sancs
How??!?! I still don't know how to do POG... Any basic guidelines for newbies?

These two explorers do not match. Which fork is correct?

It has been forked.

so , which way is right?

I would assume the official one which is longer and has higher difficulty

edit: Looks like southxchange is on the shorter chain... so I would avoid depositing/withdrawing from there until it is all sorted

Is there a way to at least get back same gsc we sent? Some people are saying they donate 2000 and get back only 800 in daily reward.

It's fairly easy to calculate what you will get back from a donation

- Add POG rule to prevent sanctuary scalping

So is this to prevent unlocking sanc funds that have a lot of coin age to POG ?

@MIP I don't really understand the desire for greater MN payment. We have 3x fewer masternodes now, but the payment frequency has increased. To me, total MN reward amount if you total up every 3 days has not changed meaningfully.

@SEO_Account I don't think anyone expected this as regular practice but probably found out from inadvertently seeing their 1.55M old coin age donated 2.5BBP and got a nice reward for it the next day. MN and PoG reward structure will balance out as more people participate in PoG.

Per masternode it is the same amount of BBP but per 1,500,000 coins it is 1/3rd

The MN lockup used to be 1.5m,  and payout 4000-5000,  now its 4.5m and payout is 1500-2500.

Yes you receive more rewards at the moment, but its a much smaller in terms of actual return for the coin's locked up

When there were 600 MNs, you got paid every 3 days. Now there are less than 200 masternodes, you can get paid daily.

4k-5k every 3 days, or 1.5k-2.5k every day? According to your calculations, you actually get paid more with a 4.5M masternode on the top end of the range (5k vs 7.5k) if you take a reading every 3 days.

Let me be clear. I'm not opposed to increasing the reward for MN, but if it is due to receiving less than before, the perception seems faulty to me. Run the numbers...
Of course, the analysis only works now because we went from 600 masternodes to <200 masternodes... We still have a buffer of about 15-20 4.5M masternodes needing to come online before the economics don't favor the masternode investors.

Before with 4.5M you make 15k every 3 days now with 4.5m you make 5k every 3 days. That is the complaint, but no one is adding in the extra 40-50k they could make with POG every 3 days. (Obviously this reduces once everyone starts doing it)

edit: also no one is including the cost & time savings of not managing 3x as many VPS instances.

4,5M lockup & VPS cost for 1500-2500 / days or 2 days like a joke now : ))

Just unlock and POG if you had a 10 day old sanctuary right now you could unlock tithe 8000 and make 150K~ then relock and start sanc again. I don't know if it matters if we raise rewards or not eventually everyone is going to be doing that. If you raise reward % to sanctuaries than that will just hurt the smaller holders that don't have enough for a sanctuary yet no? It hurts the heat miners as well if we take from that budget too.

On the sanc payment, impho, as things currently are with QT in place, those rewards would not improve; except in the case that If our price rose above the AUP trigger (.01 cent), the biblepay wallet would emit more coins per block.  This lower Sanc share is due to the GSC contract escrow % being held back at the gross level per block.  I understand both sides, that sancs feel they should get the gross reward first, then the GSC gets the net.   Since I am a sanc owner myself I feel that if the community feels this is important to discuss a higher reward, I encourage someone here to make a forum proposal, proposing a change, and then voted on (as I don't want to spearhead this myself).

As MN owner I feel that GSC reward has a bit too much weight. Maybe it's not necessary to go back to 40% and let PoBH+GSC dispute the other 40%, but maybe something in between would be fairer.

Are you counting the fact that you can run a sanctuary for however long build up coin age unlock the funds POG and then relock the funds and start the sanctuary again?
