1001  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [PRE-ANN] WAVES. Ultimate crypto-tokens blockchain platform. on: June 14, 2016, 01:10:34 AM
i was hoping too it but i can't see waves on any exchange yet.
i might just trade few to invest to another ICO. I'm gonna roll the BTCs i got  because right now, I'm treating investing on ICOs as career. Smiley
Which is the new good ICO?

WAVES might be the last profitable ICO. RISE and WINGZ are the current hot topic ICOs, and they are both using referral systems to generate sales. That is a HUGE red flag, in my opinion. Elastic might be a good option to invest into, outside of that, the era of profitable ICOs may very well be coming to a close.

Remember, the only reason people make money off of these is because others who didn't buy in in time think they can still profit by buying in day 1. I think after however many launches we've been through, not enough stupid traders will be around to fuel profits for WINGZ or RISE.
1002  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ⋞ANN⋟⋞TRAP⋟ TRAPCOIN | Crypto Currency Backed By Minecraft Economy on: June 14, 2016, 12:54:00 AM
any news ??

The official website is down and no activity from the dev in a few days. Probably not looking the best for Trapcoin at this point in time.
1003  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: $WAVES Buying/Selling Thread on: June 13, 2016, 05:58:38 AM
I'm planning on waiting to sell my WAVES for launch day, but I am curious. How exactly are you guys trading WAVES before they have been released to the public? Escrow + IOU or... ?
1004  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [BLRY] ***BILLARY COIN***| PoW/PoS | BREAKING NEWS: PARTNERSHIP ANNOUNCED on: June 13, 2016, 05:54:39 AM
And it's worth mentioning that we now have 2 different promo companies working on spreading the good word on BLRY. Hope you guys have had a chance to checkout the FollowMyVote.com coin contributor program, let's pull together and make a difference!

Thanks for the update, fantastic news. Just bought around 25k BLRY today on Yobit. Price is so cheap right now, it's hard not to keep buying! I realistically don't see the coin establishing a price floor below 100 satoshi, and even then I think that's severely undervaluing the coin. Buying right now seems to incite a sure profit, imo.
1005  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Spells of Genesis - Innovating the Game Economy with BitCrystals (BCY) on: June 13, 2016, 05:31:47 AM
Hi everyone, I signed up on the Spells of Genesis website way back when. Haven't really checked up on the development of the game since.

Looks like the game has been released? Where can I play it? (I have an Android). Also, it appears as if I have some number of BitCrystals in my account. How can I access them?

Thanks!

Game is in beta stages, and you can play online at http://spellsofgenesis.com/play or download the Android .apk at http://spellsofgenesis.com/play/last.php.
Full release should be around September time.

BCY in your account have gone by now, you were supposed to claim them time ago by adding a counterparty compatible address to your account.

I don't think you'll be bale to claim them anymore, the team will know best.

I just went on the spells of genesis website and logged into my account. My BitCrystals (272.50) are still shown in the balance. I just signed up with counterwallet.io and linked my public key. What other steps are to be taken? That is, assuming my BCY are still redeemable.
1006  Economy / Gambling / Re: Any pool multiplayer games with Bitcoin? on: June 13, 2016, 04:06:55 AM
Major part comes down to is cheating, people using aimers and what ever else to get an advantage.

I use to play yahoo pool all the time when i was a teen.  was a blast

That's definitely the biggest concern. There are so few mechanics to online pool, I couldn't imagine it would be very much work at all to make a bot that plays perfectly. Once people start using something like this, the game is effectively ruined. The reason why online pool games nowadays work is because stakes are so low (just playing for fun) that there isn't really much of an incentive to cheat.

1008  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: New Decentralized Coin on: June 03, 2016, 02:18:29 AM
I honestly think such an implementation (where nodes are inversely proportional to block times) would have the opposite effect of what you are suggesting.

Regular users and hodlers would be incentivized not to host a node. Longer block times = lower inflation = higher intrinsic value per unit of currency held by users.

Big miners will host more nodes to create more blocks and thus profit further.

The end result is an even bigger divide between people and miners, and miners having even more power and say in the crypto. Such a specification would make an environment worse than what we already have.
1009  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What happened to Nxt millionaires? on: June 02, 2016, 08:47:40 PM
If someone seriously believes in cryptocurrency appliances to the real world they would be investing in Bitcoin start ups.

Dude, these days only kids believe this bullshit. And bagholders who bought 1000$ bitcoins.

Are you implying these new fads like Lisk and Waves have a bigger potential to impact the world than Bitcoin? There is a reason why countless big name companies are investing time and money into researching Bitcoin, and not these flavor-of-the-month shitcoins. If people are bullish on cryptocurrency and they want to make a meaningful investment they'll find it in the organizations that seek to use Bitcoin for concrete, real world purposes.
1010  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How many profitable ICO ventures are ahead of us? on: June 02, 2016, 08:45:06 PM
If by profiting you mean throwing money at random anon "devs" and their ICOs in the hopes of making profit you're not making any money, you're just gambling and riding variance - which will eventually catch up to you and you'll eventually lose money because in the ICO game the dealer have a massive edge and (unlike poker) ICOs are purely gambling without the slightest element of skill involved.
And there was a thread here just recently about traders and whether they know what they're doing.  And I agree, I don't think there's any element of skill involved.  I never heard it described as "riding variance" but then again I don't get out much.

I much prefer the stock market, where there's at least some substance behind the ticker symbols.  In the altcoin world, it really is just smoke and mirrors.  It amazes me that these coins have any value whatsoever.

I'm gonna be completely honest with you- I, personally, have no idea what I'm doing. I've got a few coins I've invested in long term because I like what they set out to succeed and I personally want to see it do well. I trade other coins because they are hugely volatile and simply jumping between the margins accounts for healthy profits. And then there are these ICOs I'm hopping on board with because I am confident I can get out before I'm the last one holding the hot potato. I think my current ICO deposits are to be my last, however. If I could do it over I would have put big sums into BitCrystals and Augur, can't say I'd put money into Eth or Lisk, but hind sight is 20/20, I suppose.
1011  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How many profitable ICO ventures are ahead of us? on: June 02, 2016, 08:41:56 PM
Let's be honest. Sooner or later, this is going to come to an end.

People were thinking along those lines regarding the London property bubble. But it didn't end and has been going on for years.
And, unlike property, new blockchain implementations have the potential (not all! some are just cut and paste clones) to disrupt entire valuable industries.

So - I think later rather than sooner.

I'm unfamiliar with the London property market, but I do know that the Great Recession in 2008 in the US was the result of a collapse in the housing market following a huge bubble that had been growing for years. When it gets to the point where people are taking out loans to resell properties, it will all come crashing down.
1012  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What happened to Nxt millionaires? on: June 02, 2016, 08:38:16 PM
Bitcointalk has never again seen real overnight millionaires as it has with Nxt. They were at the right place at the right time.

Frankly, a lot of money in hands that aren't used to savings is a dangerous affair.

How many of the Nxt millionaires still have money left?

I have seen several similar to situations. Its not necessarily known to the people at the time that will get rich, in part by randomness. Say you were a Nxt investor and put in 100$. Now you have 100'000$ and sell. Then the amount goes to 1M$. Not selling early is hard. Or the same people will squander their new sudden wealth with new adventures. it is interesting to observe this new wealth distribution mechanism at work. The more interesting opportunities are structural and thoughtful investment, not ICO lotteries.

Honestly, if people are going for investing in opportunities that are 'interesting', 'structural', and 'thoughtful', they wouldn't be investing in altcoins in the first place. The ONLY reason people invest in altcoins is for profit. If someone seriously believes in cryptocurrency appliances to the real world they would be investing in Bitcoin start ups. It's as simple as that.
1013  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Ever wonder why BTCE price is always lower than everywhere else? on: June 01, 2016, 10:48:40 PM
Who the hell cares? ICO scamcoin overload is an easy profit for everyone with half a brain.

Gotta love these comments.  Why not just rob a bank?  It's more profitable.  Or hide in the bushes and jump out at people.

Because robbing a bank is a federal crime? Nothing wrong or shady about trading altcoins...
1014  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: (WTS) Selling 40,690 Waves for 30 BTC on: June 01, 2016, 10:33:09 PM
I'll pay 0.1 btc in case nobody else wants it and you're desperate.

Are you a bear or a troll Huh Huh Huh

Just seeing lots of sellers and no buyers. I didn't plan on buying that coin but if there's no other buyers i'll put up a bid.

Same thing happened with LISK in these parts, and it did just fine on launch. Everyone who joined in during the ICO enjoyed a significant profit. I don't think anyone will sell to you even for 100x what you're offering.
1015  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [PRE-ANN] WAVES. Ultimate crypto-tokens blockchain platform. on: June 01, 2016, 10:16:58 PM
Damn, really upset I missed the free twitter Waves. Oh well.

Anyways, I checked my ICO account and I've got 325 waves, as opposed to the almost 2k that was listed earlier? Was that estimate vs actual or what?
The ICO price was around 0.00036 BTC/ WAVE.
Now you do the calculation

Alright, solid profits if WAVES could match current LISK prices, which I think is doable. If we could hit 1mBTC per wave on launch day, I'll be ecstatic. Mark your calendars, boys!
It will be hard, lots od dumpers will be there on day 1.

There will be lots of dumpers (myself included), but also a lot of hopeful depositors who couldn't get in during the ICO for whatever reason.
1016  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is your Alt moving with or against BTC? on: June 01, 2016, 09:59:06 PM
My GAME investment is definitely NOT moving in conjunction with Bitcoin markets. Only one altcoin of many so it's not a big deal, but sad to see a coin I'm very bullish about lose half its price in the course of a month or so.
1017  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Lisk<< Have You made Profit from it? on: June 01, 2016, 09:53:53 PM
Gonna be honest, I have not won off of LISK. Missed the ICO. Started trading with .2 BTC launch day. Worked that up to .3, then bought back in at .00098. Down below I started if I sell now, hoping price can rebound to around .0007 so I can sell without loss.
1018  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / How many profitable ICO ventures are ahead of us? on: June 01, 2016, 09:51:19 PM
Let's be honest. Sooner or later, this is going to come to an end. Profits don't appear out of thin air, and in a bullish BTC market, it's becoming harder and harder to profit off of altcoins. I'm hoping WAVES will be profitable, I threw some BTC in there. I also have some coin in Elastic, but I'm not sure I'll even recover that initial investment. Certainly do not think Rise or Wings will do anything good for its investors

Who the hell cares? ICO scamcoin overload is an easy profit for everyone with half a brain. You don't even need to invest in the shitcoin of the month, they generate so much trading volume that trickles down to other coins. I've personally quadrupled my yobit BTC deposit margin trading a coin that was dead until Lisk launched.
