Canary is the man. He not only found me a hosting site since SidehacK had to fill up, but he got my gear shipped out today.

28  Economy / Lending / Re: Why do trustworthy people rarely need loans? on: September 02, 2014, 05:40:22 PM
I had to ask my buddy to loan me his torque wrench today. Does that count? Tongue
Yes. I have left corresponding feedback:

 Tongue

LOL I just noticed this one Smiley

That must be a magic torque wrench.

Honest folks can fall on hard times too because life is harsh, BUT, they have usually been around the forum for awhile and don't have a history of begging for loans or risky behavior.

For the devil's advocate argument some of the most infamous scammers are legendary, hero members that got greedy or in trouble so "ran with the $."
29  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] Alpha Technologies Viper 50 MH/s 4.5 BTC on: August 31, 2014, 12:41:29 AM
The OP's hash rate should have been increased along with other batch one customers unless something has changed, but 4.5 is still high and this is probably only for the down-payment to transfer the order.  Most of the customers did not pay for the full order as a show of "good faith."

My B.S. degree is just that BS.  I do not know even know where it is right now, but my professional degree is what brings home the bacon.  I hated school, but I was good at it so I figured I should make use of my talents.  Yes, I still have some student loans, but my first job paid half of it off and the interest rate is below 3%.  Where else are you going to find money that cheap?
31  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [OPEN] ASICMiner Tube Group Buy #2 on: August 28, 2014, 01:41:38 AM
Canary, thanks for another great GB.  Sorry that you had some issues that were out of your control, but you busted your ass to make sure everything was smooth on your end of the transaction.
32  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: H/w Hosting Directory & Reputation on: August 28, 2014, 01:29:53 AM
Gekko hosting is awesome.  Sidehack drove over 400 miles (I believe one way) to pick up AM tubes from CanaryInTheMine for his hosting site instead of waiting on shipping.  That is true customer service.

Oh also, between Tubes and Technobit Minion boards, we're full up.
33  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [OPEN] ASICMiner Tube Group Buy #1 on: August 27, 2014, 04:54:23 PM
That is true dedication from a hosting agent.  Grin

Umm... he drove 7 hours one way to pick them up in person...
DHL delivered at a time that I couldn't possibly get anything out last night.

I'm going to need a usps miracle to get mine wed before I leave the states.

I needed one too... just got home today minerless ;(
Hope you get yours!

Don't worry folks, I am packing them up. They will all head out ASAP.
Also, Sidehack popped over and picked up the ones for hosting by him.
And we both took a stab at assembling one, it's not too bad actually.

well i was first to pay and not first to be shipped to as you allowed sidehack to get his ahead of me.  not a complaint in any way . I do understand he ordered more then me  and that I have not ordered as much gear from you as he has in older sales.

I have ordered a lot from you in the last year.

I tell you what if that assembled one works well how about shipping it to me on tues.
thanks Phil
 best regards phil Smiley

of the 10 tracking numbers I have from fc and co., 1 is arriving Friday.  the other 9 are arriving Monday per DHL (just got off the phone with DHL).  I don't know how big of a truck they're gonna need on Monday, but that's another story.  The 9 tracking numbers are likely to arrive to Cincinnati Saturday and will rest there over the weekend which sucks.

It's not very clear what's in Friday's shipment (per friedcat, DHL center appears to have mixed things up).  It's either some amount of parts to make complete tubes or not.
If there are enough components to ship out any Tubes to you on Friday, they will got out.
At any rate, these will all head out to you ASAP.

We apologize for this groupbuy's delivery time.

It's caused by a combination of three factors:

1. A one-day delay from the miscommunication from the sales department
to the logistics company.
2. The time of shipping from the logistics company to Hong Kong DHL.
3. The unexpected overfilling of DHL between 19th to 21st. This also
affected two other customers by 1-2 days.

To prevent it from happening again for this groupbuy as well as
overseas customers, we will fix the shipping process and choose more
direct shipping methods on demand.

The delay stinks, but thanks Canary and Friedcat for the updates.  At least things are moving now.

36  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: S3 Hosting on: August 20, 2014, 05:50:23 AM
Here is a good option.  This is one is cheap https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=622998.msg7814500#msg7814500 "So an S3 at 400W draw would charge $27.36 in energy in 30 days" and they sell server PSU kits "We will provide PSU equipment (from our server PSU interface setups) for sale at the maximum bulk-pricing discount, or for monthly lease at one-third the discounted sale price. D750 (750-800W) PSUs will sell for $55 per PSU/Board/4-cables, and a DPS2K (2000-2500W PSU) will sell for $149 for a PSU/Board/12x36"-cables. If you purchase the supply, we will ship it with your equipment (if you request it) when it's time for your equipment to leave our facility. We will maintain any leased supplies, replacing failures as necessary at no expense to the customer."  Server PSU are the better option IMHO for powering miners, but not the best option for home use.  Sidehack also provides good customer support.

Warning: Trade with extreme caution!

explain.

Just ignore this thread. AMT will delete any truth posted here (including this message).

I've noticed they dont reply when i ask. I'd be willing to do escrow  for them if they actually shipped working hardware.

Buy the BE200 AISCMiner Tube: 800-850 Gh/s for 1.04 BTC much better pricing.
38  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Is it worth it to buy a used ASIC at a discount? on: August 20, 2014, 01:04:07 AM
As long as the equipment is not damaged and the electricity costs are not outrageous it is not a bad idea, but eventually they will run their course just like all tech does
39  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ASICMiner Tube Sales Information Thread on: August 18, 2014, 05:01:35 AM
I have a tracking number from fc that gets the hw to Hong Kong (based on prior experience).  Then it's picked up by DHL.  So, DHL number is next.

And then before the hw gets into DHL's hand, i stole them!! Smiley I wish Hong Kong buyers can buy directly but not bulk.

You should not get a deal just because you live in FC's back yard  Grin

How many extra units do you have coming & available left to buy for the GB?

Also, i hate to be the one to ask, but what's in it for you with this group buy? You don't seem to be marking them up any, are you just trying to get around the MOQ for an order from them?  This forum has turned me into a cynic. Sad

You have barely been around a month.  This place CAN be a cesspool if you don't filter out the right people and avoid scams.  I learned that the hard way.  Yes,  I got taken for ~$2,400 so make sure to stick with well known sellers such as Canary and avoid to good to be true deals because they are truly not true.

Speaking of trusted sellers...do you have any extra units, Canary, or will you be placing another order?  I sat on the fence to long.
