25  Other / Off-topic / Re: virtual economy on: March 03, 2014, 10:15:19 AM
A virtual economy is one which exists within a fantasy, usually gaming, world. These economies are primarily found online in multiplayer, real-time virtual worlds. Virtual economies have virtual currencies. While these currencies typically cannot be traded for real-world currencies in a bank or a change bureau, such trading does occur.

A compromise in the cryptography, a mass loss of coins/virus through the system that scares users away, natural disaster, an unknown unknown..so many things. By the day it gets stronger, but in life there are no guarantees

The NSA helps GCHQ crack Yahoo webcams? Are there any US citizens on these webcams? If so has not the NSA just enabled spying on US Citizens, something outside their charter and illegal? Shut down the NSA, shut it all down.

37  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Dark Enlightenment on: March 02, 2014, 10:37:49 AM
Where does the term Dark Enlightenment come from? Inspired by the pugnacious writings of Mencius Moldbug, the prolific blogger who serves as the movement’s unofficial center of gravity, the neologism is the creation of philosopher Nick Land. In 2012, Land wrote an impressively thorough manifesto titled simply The Dark Enlightenment, which boldly articulates the movement’s central thesis: “For the hardcore neo-reactionaries, democracy is not merely doomed, it is doom itself. Fleeing it approaches an ultimate imperative.” The essay continues, ”[Neo-reaction] conceives the dynamics of democratization as fundamentally degenerative: systematically consolidating and exacerbating private vices, resentments, and deficiencies until they reach the level of collective criminality and comprehensive social corruption.”
